how do we know the 70th week of Daniel starts with a peace treaty and considering that this peace treaty might take place as soon as this fall we need to know right now we need to be able to identify the treaty when it happens to which a lot will say duh because Daniel 9:27 says he makes a strong Covenant with the many for seven years okay so there is a covenant but how do we know it's a peace Covenant and how do we know it didn't take place a long time ago we know that it's
a peace Covenant because for different books of the Bible tell us so but the verses are hard to find however once you find them you will never forget this or doubt this again just this week I had a question that sparked this teaching from a good Bible scholar Mark swaboda asking the all of it disc of course you know Matthew 24 doesn't include a covenant so a covenant is not needed to trigger the tribulation is it great question Mark I used to believe this exact same thing as well and if my friends and I have
this question maybe you do too how do we really know the tribulation starts with a covenant let alone a false peace Covenant let's find out this is Bible teacher Nelson Walters and even though this is a common question I have never seen a video or heard a podcast on this topic ever so this should be an interesting teaching if you watch it all the way through you're going to see something about how to interpret the Bible that you can add to your skill set as well because it's absolutely amazing in fact that really is the
payoff for this whole teaching so make sure you see the whole thing so let's begin with Mark's question about the olet discourse a day or two before Jesus was betrayed and then crucified his disciples asked what the signs of the end would be Jesus's most complete answer is recorded in Matthew 24 so you would think that the Covenant would be listed there right but the best word search software won't find it you won't find it in the other two chapters where Jesus's answer is given either go ahead and check out Mark 13 and Luke 212
as I said there is no Covenant agreement promise or anything of the sort listed there since the disciples were asking for signs I used to think this meant the Covenant was something no one would see that it would be a secret Covenant others who are predice or partial predice would say that Covenant happened long ago there isn't even a covenant so Jesus was asked for signs so I mean he'd have to mention it if we're going to see it right instead of a covenant starting the signs this is what Jesus really said he replied see
to it that you are not deceived for many will come in my name claiming I am he and the time is near do not follow them Luke 218 Mark faod said see the tribulation begins with deception and I agree a really great deception of course the the Covenant with the many if we're right is a deception too and if it's what launches the tribulation we're going to need to do better than just say that to prove it and I found that evidence but somewhat by accident the phrase that confused me most about this quote of
Jesus is many will come in my name I bet it's confused you too who are these people Christians Jews and are are they saying I am he or in other words that they're the Messiah or at least uh a messiah so I decided to look up those who come in Jesus's name and find out where else it's found in the Bible in John 5:43 Jesus said this about himself and the future Antichrist I have come in my father's name and you do not receive me if another comes in his own name you will receive him
most think that he who makes the covenants and Antichrist so maybe we're starting starting to get a little closer but there is one place where comes in my name is listed in the Old Testament only one scripture it was the only scripture Jesus had to quote at that point in time New Testament hadn't even been written yet it's in Jeremiah 14:15 listen to this therefore thus says the Lord concerning the prophets who prophesy in my name although I did not send them and who say sword and famine shall not come upon this land by sword
and famine those prophets shall be consumed well that certainly sounds more like a peace Covenant doesn't it these are the prophets of whom Jeremiah said they say peace when there is no peace so we're getting a lot closer to our answer will Israel have false prophets coming in yahweh's name promoting a peace treaty in the end times crying peace peace when there will be no peace and that verse that Jesus quoted Jeremiah 14:15 mentions the very next two things that Jesus brings up as signs war and famine so in the all of it discourse in
the Book of Matthew and really in all three versions that we have in Luke Mark and Matthew Jesus begins talking about about prophets who prophesy a false peace although he doesn't mention a covenant directly he does talk about a false peace a false peace that is very shortly broken now remember from Joel 3:2 re realize that the land of Israel is divided because Jesus judges the nation for exactly this giving up land for peace and it's the likely script for a peace Covenant so if someone's saying peace peace and you know the Middle East has
no peace right now then something like that has to happen so that's a start in Matthew 24 but what about the other listing of the signs of the end times the one found in Revelation in fact we should consider Revelation chapter 6 as another version of the same signs as the ol of it discourse do it you're probably saying Nelson what are you talking about it's not the all of it discourse it's Revelation it's not even a gospel well it is a version of the all of it discourse just in a different setting and I
want you to pay a lot of attention to this because it is extremely important and you may have never heard this before Matthew 24 presents 13 signs Revelation 6 and 7 combined present the exact same 13 signs in exactly the same order couple years ago we did a little math and the chance of these two passages not being the same thing is six billion to one so of all the passages in the Bible these two Matthew 24 and Revelation 6 are the ones we could be most sure of then that they are the same thing
Revelation 6 isn't in an official gospel but it's written by one of the gospel writers John John was there when Jesus gave those signs so I think it's a fourth version of the olette discourse just in a little different setting so this means that the first event in Matthew 24 the false prophets who come in yahweh's name you know the ones who cry peace is the same event as the first event in Revelation 6 which is the white Horsemen let me say that again because it's like super important we learned that Revelations 6-7 is really
a a version of the ol discourse a fourth version and the odds of this not being so are 6 billion to one so the first events have to match up just like the second events match up the third events match up the fourth events match up all 13 events have to match up this means that the white Horsemen is a sign of those who cry peace when there is no peace see how that works and possibly a sign of the peace Covenant let's examine the four things we know about this horse and Horsemen the color
is white the man carries a bow with no arrows he wears an olive leaf Crown a lot of people think it's some kind of kingly crown it's not and he is bent on overcoming or conquering let's see how these might be symbols of a peace treaty the color white is mentioned in the Old Testament in regard to righteousness yeah most people know that but it is also mentioned in regard to false peace in association with the exact same prophets who cry out peace when there is no peace in Ezekiel 13:10 we read precisely because they
have misled my people see it includes deception as well saying peace when there is no peace and because when the people build a wall these prophets smear it with whitewash in other words they try to put up a protection but these prophets are covering over the protection the protection Jesus referred to this saying the Pharisees were like white washed tombs full of dead men's bones and of all in cleanliness so white is a color that definitely matches this idea of a false piece next we see the writer wears a crown which the Greek calls a
Stephanos Crown a wreath shaped Crown not a royal crown and even today these Laurel Leaf or olive leaf crowns are a sign of of Peace again peace treaty or Covenant is coming into view next we have the symbol of a bow with no arrows now obviously not having weapons like arrows is a sign of Peace but not only that it's also a sign of a covenant in Genesis 91 12-15 in God's first Covenant with mankind with Noah he hung his bow in the sky as a sign of a covenant he laid his War bow in
other words down after having flooded the Earth today we know this bow as a rainbow but Genesis actually uses the word bow in the original languages not rainbow importantly this is the first use of the word bow in the Bible the law of first usage which indicates What a symbol means first time is usually what it means from then on indicates that not only does this mean peace but a peace peace Covenant and now not only a peace Covenant but a false peace Covenant in Psalm 7867 a bow without arrows is called a treacherous bow
a bow that doesn't really work well there was probably no symbol God could have used to better convey a false peace Covenant than a bow with no arrows and then we see that the result of this false peace is that the rider of the horse who's carrying that bow Will Conquer conquer without firing a shot or an arrow many of you know we anticipate this false peace covenant could possibly happen as early as this fall it may not but it likely could they're planning on it and this matches perfectly with Daniel 9:27 where the tribulation
begins with a covenant and he will make or a better translation is he will enforce a strong Covenant on the many for one week so we have just looked at what most would say are the most important three passages about the start of a tribulation you know the all of it discourse in Matthew 24 the white Horsemen of Revelation 6 which we now know is really like a fourth version of the alette discourse as well and Daniel 9:27 talking about the 70th week of Daniel and as we just saw all three are speaking in some
terms about a false peace Covenant in one way or another but are there other passages that specifically speak of a covenant or a false piece and actually use that word covenant because it'd be really nice to have one like that too wouldn't it there is one Isaiah 281 14-15 therefore hear the word of the Lord You scoffers Who rule this people in Jerusalem because you have said we have made a covenant with death and with sheld or the grave we have an agreement when the overwhelming whip passes through it will not come to us for
we have made lies our refuge and falsehood we have taken shelter so here's a passage about Israel making a false peace agreement with death itself and Shield or the grave and of course the false Covenant doesn't stand it's broken did you notice the two characters who it is that the Covenant is made with death and shield these are the exact two characters who ride and follow the dappled green death horse is the fourth seal of Revelation the same two characters so that tells us this Covenant when it's broken is when these two ride in it
is no accident that the first seal the White Horse is the beginning of the Covenant and God shows us through this passage when it's broken at the fourth seal when Authority is given to the writer of the death horse so hopefully all these shared words and phrases between multiple books of the Bible has amazed you as much as it initially did me we have Jesus quoting Jeremiah then in Matthew 24 and Revelation 67 sharing 13 separate events in the same order then we have Jeremiah and the the prophets who cry peace when there is no
peace being quoted in Ezekiel and also mentioning white as in the White Horse then we have Isaiah 28 discussing a false peace Covenant and who's it with the same two characters that accompany the fourth death horse when the false Covenant is broken to me this cannot be a coincidence but rather the intentional sprinkling of what you could call breadcrumbs by God into all the passages to help us see and understand the message he is getting across and that message is that a false peace Covenant is about to be enforced by a nameless he probably the
Antichrist and those who rule in Jerusalem are going to go along with it and the false prophets who say they come in yahweh's name will cry peace when there is no peace and the white horse rider will give us this deceptive Covenant and he will conquer without arrows he's going to conquer with diplomacy see how these shared phrases and symbols are actually the most important part of the story once we recognize them then we can remember them even more vividly because of those breadcrumbs and they really are the part that tell the story unfortunately I
bet this is the first time you're seeing all four of these passages together in the same study and seeing how they are internally linked by shared words and symbols from God it was intentionally written by God that way to come to your mind and one last thing about the word covenant we know it's a false piece Covenant but it is more than that why did God use the word covenant which he usually uses about his own covenants with Israel click right here to keep watching and discover it's actually the abrahamic Covenant God's covenant that gets
twisted into a false version till then this is Nelson and I'll see you there because this is one more breadcrumb we can't afford to miss
