hi my name is Marjorie Morrison and I am the co-founder of psyb May is mental health awareness month we're going to talk about the top three strategies to help you with your mental Wellness the first one is connection I like calling friends and going to sit with them going for a walk with them just catching up with them sharing personal things that makes me feel connected but for someone else it could be playing sports or being part of a team we have to remember asking for help or reaching out when we're talking to someone and
you know working on our connectiveness that that's a sign of strength that's not a sign of weakness and people love to help we all want to help it works both ways it's good for the person who's helping and it's also good for the person who's asking for help the next strategy is to really think about and reflect on the good in our lives we are what we think so if we're going to tell our brains negative things we're going to feel negative so it's important to really focus on the good things now I always say
you know that expression that may my heart smile those little things that make your heart smile those are good things to be able to just kind of take a second in that moment and reflect and feel like wow that was a really good thing and that made me feel really positive some people do it before they go to sleep some people do it when they first wake up it's whatever works for you but it's so important to have that positive selft talk finally and this is going to feel very cliche you have to take care
of your body it could be walking it could be going to the gym it could be playing tennis it could be whatever it doesn't really matter try to get a good night's sleep and eating healthy really important I know we hear it all the time but it is true so I think just to recap on this we've got three things to focus on the first one is connection the second one is to be positive to not all the time but to be intentional with our positive thinking and the third one is taking care of our
bodies let's use Mental Health months as a stepping stone for the rest of the year we know your mental health is the greatest asset you're going to have it is like you got to cherish it you got to to take care of it because it's what's going to get you through and psyb is your mental health Ally and we want to be there for you on your journey [Music]
