Considered the central kingdom of the largest empire on the continent, the city of Thais was the stage for some of the most incredible events that took place in Tibia. Historically, it was the first major city on the continent and served as a starting point for territorial expansion, becoming the capital of a vast empire that spans several regions and colonies, such as Edron, Venore, Port Hope, Liberty Bay and Fibula. Although these colonies have become more independent over time, Thais is still seen as the heart of this empire, currently being ruled by King Tibianus III.
This is no secret to most, but what not everyone knows is that the city's history is not just about conquests, but also about sacrifices and legends that shaped the destiny of a nation. From heroic times, when a brave warrior immortalized his name by defending the city in epic battles against the orcs, to the transformation of Tradespot into a prosperous capital under his son's reign. Today I invite you to go back in time and discover the roots of the great city of Thais.

And if you're looking for a different experience in Tibia, check out the suggestions I have for you: A long time ago, what is now known as Thais was just a modest trading post. At that time, no one could have predicted that this small outpost, surrounded by lush nature and calm rivers, would become one of the largest and most influential cities on the continent. Initially known as "Tradespot", this place soon began to stand out for its privileged location, attracting traders and travelers from all corners.
The two rivers that meandered around Tradespot not only protected its inhabitants from invaders, but also provided essential resources like drinking water and a generous abundance of fish. The surrounding land was fertile, and hunters brought enough supplies to ensure that hunger never became a serious problem. However, despite the growing prosperity, a threat constantly loomed over the inhabitants: the Orcs.
These barbaric creatures, who lived in hordes nearby, did not miss the opportunity to attack the peaceful community. Therefore, the presence of skilled warriors became essential for Tradespot's security. These fighters were treated like heroes, receiving the best meals and the most comfortable places to rest.
In return, they were expected to remain vigilant, ready to defend the trading post at a moment's notice. It was in the midst of this climate of tension that Thais emerged, a warrior whose name would forever be marked in history. Charismatic and fearless, he quickly gained the trust of the inhabitants and became a natural leader.
It didn't take long for other warriors to join him, forming an army prepared to face the Orcs. Thais was not just an excellent strategist; His presence inspired courage and determination in everyone around him. Under his leadership, Tradespot withstood countless attacks and soon became a safe haven for all humans in the region.
The orc attacks seemed endless, a constant threat that hung over Tradespot like a shadow. Amid this chaotic scenario, a man named Fibula, tired of violence and seeking a life of peace, planned a daring exploration. He had spotted a distant island, almost imperceptible from the mainland coast, and his curiosity led him to embark on a solitary journey.
Upon arriving on the island, he found something he had never imagined: a haven of complete serenity. The silence of the island, the absence of conflicts and the untouched beauty of the place enchanted him so much that Fibula decided not to return to Tradespot. Legend has it that Fibula lived for a long time on his island, far from the worries of the mainland, until, one night, he was struck by a dark dream.
He saw a devastating invasion of orcs, where hundreds of people were massacred. The dream was so vivid and disturbing that it made him reconsider his decision to isolate himself. Drven by the desire to protect those who still lived under constant threat, Fibula returned to the mainland, bringing news of his discovery: a hidden island, safe from orc attacks, where the weakest, the elderly and the defenseless could take refuge in times of trouble.
crisis. To his surprise, the proposal was received with enthusiasm. The idea of a secret hideout, accessible through underground tunnels that connected Tradespot to the island, was immediately put into practice.
While the strongest and most fearless warriors remained in the city to repel the orc attacks, the vulnerable found safety on the island of Fibula. And so, while the brave defended the city with their lives, the secret tunnels provided an escape and protection route. The battles continued, with great human losses, but the most terrible fate was avoided, and the orcs paid dearly for their ambition.
Fibula, the man who found salvation in isolation, became a living legend, and to this day the island bears his name. However, the war with the orcs did not end there. Thais and his warriors faced battle after battle, and even as he grew older, the fearless leader refused to leave the battlefield.
He believed that his presence and leadership were essential to the morale of his men. In his last battle, however, Thais met his end. He fell, mortally wounded, into the arms of his son, Tibianus.
Young Tibianus, who had always been in the shadow of his father, now found himself faced with a difficult mission: to avenge the death of the leader everyone revered and take his place as commander. Despite not having the same charisma as Thais, Tibianus was determined. He gathered all the warriors in the region, promising revenge for his father's death.
His political and strategic skills allowed him to keep the army united and strong, and, with the support of the citizens of Tradespot, Tibianus was crowned King. He became the first monarch of Tibia, and his first action as sovereign was to rename the city into tribute to his father. From that moment on, Tradespot became known as Thais.
As the years passed, the glorious reign of King Tibianus came to an end after his death, and the city of Thais, which once shone as the undisputed center of power in Tibia, faced new challenges under the leadership of his successors. Among them, a name that left a deeply negative mark on the city's history was King Xenom. Ambitious and determined to create a new paradigm of civilization, Xenom dreamed of a city made exclusively for the rich and powerful elites.
His gaze turned to a distant colony known today as Carlin. With vast resources and the strength of the Thai legions, Xenom invested heavily in the development of Carlin, believing that this new colony would become the jewel of his empire. Fortifications were erected, imposing walls rose to protect it, and Thais' gold flowed like never before.
However, Xenom's dream was doomed to fail. Carlin never turned into what he envisioned. The city resisted the idea of becoming an elitist stronghold, and after repeated failures and a series of rebellions, Xenom's project weakened the Thaian legions to such an extent that Carlin's independence became inevitable.
In the years following Xenom's disastrous attempt, Thais began to find its feet. The city regained its strength and reestablished its reputation through more loyal colonies and solid commercial relations with several other cities and territories. The shine of the past has returned, even with new dynamics and challenges.
Edowir: Thais is the capital of an ancient human kingdom. In the past, his government was more or less indisputable. Over the years, the strength of the Thai kingdom has been eroded by different events.
Today, Thais remains a monarchy, ruled by King Tibianus III, who resides in his castle northwest of the city. Over the years, Thais maintained its influence in commerce, consolidating itself as one of the main commercial hubs in Tibia. However, Thais' power is not as absolute as Tibianus III would like.
Although he dreams of unifying the continent under his city's flag, few take him seriously. The coffers of The city is no longer as crowded as before, and commercial ties with other cities, such as Venore and Edron, force Thais to maintain peace and mutual respect. The Thais empire, even though it is still vast, does not exercise the control it once had.
Edron, Venore, Port Hope, Liberty Bay, and even the ancient island of Fibula are under their nominal rule, but these colonies operate almost independently. The authority of the crown is often ignored, and Tibianus III's orders are seen more as suggestions. Despite being descended from a lineage of legendary warriors, such as Thais and Tibianus I, the current king is a very different figure.
Tibianus III is gentle and easy-going, famous for avoiding conflict and preferring diplomacy over any armed confrontation. Instead of brandishing swords, he prefers to win hearts and minds. He is often seen in his castle alongside his faithful dog, Noodles, who has become a local celebrity.
Noodles loves to play sniffing items, and many visitors who come to Thais don't miss the opportunity to challenge him in his games. Abran Ironeye: I would like to see a real warrior-king in Thais. .
. like the old days. But who knows, maybe one day the tides of fate will bring such a man to power.
Who knows. . .
Although the times of war have passed, orc attacks have not yet completely ceased. However, Thais' fortifications are now imposing, and the orcs are rarely able to approach the city walls before being defeated. If you travel to Thais, don't be surprised if you encounter some orcs along the way.
Within the city, however, the biggest threats are much more urban: the plagues of rats that infest the streets and the pickpockets that lurk on the corners. Therefore, always be aware of your belongings while exploring this grandiose metropolis. And that's all for today, guys.
