[Music] hi guys okay the week is nearly over but it's not over you still have to test your game if you don't test your game you won't know if your game is good or not now this is this has to do with design every time you design something you have to take the user the end user into account when you design an application when you design a website when you design anything a good design means the users like it so you're going to have to test your game give it to players have them play it
and redefine your game to make sure you don't forget anything the best way to proceed is probably to Define checklists lists of things you want to verify in your game when you test your game something that's not easy to listen to is the the feelings that are expressed by end users end users may not like the game that doesn't mean the game is not good just means they don't like it something that can help you engage in a conversation with end users is to ask them to start in your checklist by positive feedback what I
called feed forward because obviously not everything is bad about your design some parts are really good and you need to keep those one of the important things you need to check about your game you need to put in the checklist is the fact that the game is actually funny the game is fun to play it's important that the game should be funny because that means that the player is comfortable with making mistakes with learning with practicing so really you need to ask questions like were you comfortable were you allowed to do mistakes could you try
again could you play again could you improve could you practice all those type of questions help you understand if the game really helps the player progress improve practice you also need to add to your checklist questions about the feedback as we saw earlier feedback helps the player focus on the most important feedback is simple information the player doesn't need to think about so he can focus on what he needs to learn what he needs to practice so you need to ask questions like was the feedback clear did you understand the feedback did you understand what
you needed to do did you know where you were going you need basically to evaluate if the player understands the game the way you understand it what you need to check also is the fact that the game is what I would call a good match a match is something that allows competition something that also put puts players on equal terms at the beginning of the game a good match is a game where players feel that they have a chance to win and they want win so questions you can ask to check the feeling of competition
is present in the game is questions like could you compete could you win did you feel it was easy to win were you tensed did you feel the pressure did you like the competition did you like the challenge the last thing you need to check in your checklist is the level design you have to make sure the game is easier at the beginning and more difficult as the players go on basically you're checking the level design staircase that you kind of implemented so you're going to be asking questions like did you progress did you feel
you were getting better and better and better did you learn something as you went on wow you're testing your game well the good news is that your game is nearly finished the bad news is that you're going to have to improve a few more things now keep in mind you have to check the feedback you have to check the level design you have to look for positive feedback you have to use a checklist and most important you have to take the feedback from the end users into account
