I would like to start this sermon by stating this fact Jesus Christ of Nazareth is a historic reality it is a fact that he came to this earth 2,000 years ago it is a historic fact that he died and 3 days later he rose again and there is historical evidence of this outside of the Bible itself when we are talking about the Lord Jesus Christ we are talking about a reality not fiction but a reality even secular and unbelieving philosophers and historians admit that most of history is impossible to understand without Jesus Christ from eternity
passed before the first sinner ever existed the Lord Jesus Christ was already ordained to come into this Earth as the Lamb of God to take away the sins of the world the Lord Jesus Christ came to this Earth for Sinners and if you my friend have never been a sinner and if you my friend have never sinned the Lord Jesus Christ did not come for you because truth be told truth be told I have told lies before I have thoughts that I shouldn't have before I have stole stuff before I have done things which I
am not proud proud of but that is why the Lord Jesus Christ came to this earth to save Sinners how can you not love someone who came to save you but yet the world hates him but to us Christians the Lord Jesus Christ is everything the Lord Jesus Christ is not a fictional character who was made up 2,000 years ago he is God everything we do is for him everything we do that is good is through him the basis of Salvation is Jesus the basis of our life is Jesus Christ the Bible says in Galatians
2:20 I have been crucified with Christ it is no longer I who live but Christ who lives in me and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the son of God who loved me and gave himself for me our life is through Christ he is The Giver of Life all life flows from he is the only one of his kind he is almighty God manifested In the Flesh he is the central figure of the Bible he is the one and only way to heaven he is the one and
only way to the father he deserves to be worshiped sh shipped he deserves to be adored he deserves to be glorified he deserves to be uplifted he deserves to be exalted what you need to understand is that Jesus Christ was not just a man that was filled with the Holy Spirit he was not just a miracle worker he was not just a prophet neither was he just a priest but the Lord Jesus Christ is God manifested In the Flesh and do you know what this tells me there has never been anyone like him and there
will never be anyone like him the Lord Jesus Christ is unique understand this the Son of God though equal with God became the son of man so that you and I can become children of God how can you not love Jesus Christ think of him and all he has done for you in Salvation but not only in Salvation think of him in your life and all he has done for you by All rights some of you should have never made it through all the hell you have been through if you look back through your life
and look at everything you have overcome you will see the hand of the Lord over your life you will see that God God protected you God strengthened you when you were weak God empowered you when you were weary now back to my point Jesus Christ is God manifested in flesh Jesus is the Eternal God I am the Alpha and the Omega tells us that Jesus is God yes Jesus Christ is God that's why his father gave him the name Emmanuel which means god with us that's wonderful Jesus spoke as God when he was on this
Earth if you read Matthew Mark Luke and John you will find he claimed to be God he accepted worship as God John 2028 and Thomas answered and said unto him my Lord and my God Jesus Christ is God you cannot avoid him I am the Alpha and the Omega the point here is that God Reigns overall since he is before and after all things this is a type of figure of speech that illustrates total opposites in order to highlight everything that is between the Opposites as the Alpha and Omega Jesus Jesus is in control of
everything that is in between this statement can also be found in Isaiah Isaiah 414 who hath wrought and done it calling the generations from the beginning I the Lord the first and with the last I am he when we speak of God being Eternal we mean that his being exists outside side of time in history which God created because God Lives as an everlasting now he has no past and no future when the scriptures use words to describe time they refer to our time not to God's because God is uncreated God is not himself affected
by flow changes we call time God dwells in etern Peter therefore states that 2 Peter 3:8 but beloved be not ignorant of this one thing that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day Jesus Christ Our Lord and Savior has been the God of all who have trusted in him he is the god in whom at this present moment we can put our complete trust and there can be nothing at no time in the future which can separate us from him this term I am the Alpha
and the Omega shows us that Jesus did not begin in Bethlehem of Judah but he has been here from eternity past too often people associate Bethlehem of Judah as the start of Jesus Christ but that is not Jesus did not begin in a Manger no the Lord Jesus has been here from eternity past your mind can't even fathom that Jesus Christ is God if we begin to study the attributes of God we will find that they are all interrelated they are all linked to each other therefore related to God eternity is another attribute of God
highlighted in Revelation 18 where God describes himself as the Alpha and Omega and also who is and who was and who is to [Music] come Every Idle Word will be judged the Bible repeatedly tells us that one day our lives will be examined Matthew 12:36 I tell you on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak Ecclesiastes 12:14 for God shall bring every work into judgment with every secret thing whether it be good or whether it be evil Jude 1 14 and 15 and Enoch also the seventh from Adam
prophesies of these saying behold the Lord cometh with 10,000 of his Saints to execute judgment upon all and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly Deeds which they have ungodly committed and of all their hard speeches which ungodly Sinners have spoken against him Revelation 202 and I saw the dead small and great stand before God and the books were opened and another book was opened which is The Book of Life and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books according to their Works Romans 2:16
in the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel Judgment Day is an inevitable event that no one can avoid you may choose to avoid attending church reading your Bible or even evading your own respons responsibilities but the scriptures clearly emphasize that there is an appointment we cannot Escape Hebrews 927 States and just as it is appointed for man to die once and after that comes judgment whether through death or the second coming of Jesus every individual will stand before the Judgment seat to be assessed according to
their deeds actions and words during their time on Earth Judgment Day is not optional it is a designated day when all individuals will receive their due rewards whether good or bad so I ask you today are you aware of the aspects of your life that will be reviewed today we will focus on one of them let us reflect on the words of Jesus found in Matthew 1236 and 37 but I say to you that for Every Idle Word men may speak they will give account of it in the day of of judgment for by your
words you will be justified and by your words you will be condemned many people consider words as mere smoke and mirrors speaking thoughtlessly and assuming their words carry no weight however God Peres words differently and has revealed their significance to us through the Bible in Matthew 12:36 two crucial words hold great importance in this verse the first word is Idol derived from from the Greek root word Argos meaning not busy idle inactive doing nothing and sterile when Jesus applies it here in Matthew 12:36 it conveys the idea of careless or casual words the second word
account originates from the Greek word aomi signifying to give an answer Jesus is conveying that everyone will be held accountable even for their casual remarks as they will have to provide an answer to God according to the undergraduate biology research program the average person uses approximately 16,000 words per day that adds up to 112,000 words per week 448,000 words per month and a staggering 5,280 th000 words per year over the course of a decade that amounts to 52,800 th000 words remarkably every single one of these words is being recorded while I cannot fathom how God
keeps track of each person's words I am certain that a record is being kept on Judgment Day God will not only examine the highlights of our lives but will delve into the minutia of our existence each word decision action and thought will be scrutinized this is why we must exercise caution with our words the scriptures vividly Enlighten us about the nature of Judgment Day which consists of two distinct Parts the first part involves those who have accepted Jesus Christ as God's Gift of eternal life and possess a strong faith in him in John 522 and
23 we learn that the father has entrusted all judgment to the son those who honor the son honor the father who sent him during this judgment Jesus will evaluate the words and works of every believer and determine the reward that will be given or withheld in eternity 2 Corinthians 510 it is important to note that this judgment does not determine one's Eternal Destiny nor can a Believer lose their salvation John 10:28 as Jesus himself assures I give them eternal life and they will never perish and no one will snatch them out of my hand the
second part of the Judgment pertains to non-believers who will be judged based on their self-righteousness and their failure to fulfill God's standards as described in Romans 3:23 this is often referred to as the white Throne judgment when Jesus returns we will be held accountable for every action and word including the careless ones we have spoken 2 Corinthians 510 warns for we must all appear before the Judgment seat of Christ so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body whether good or bad these are the words
of our Lord and we must reflect upon his warning while we may forget many of the words we have spoken he does not forget a single one Proverbs 10:19 reminds us where there are many words transgression is unavoidable speech is a gift but it also carries great responsibility we may forget the words we spoke or the conversations we had about our fellow beings but God does not forget he meticulously records every word what a reckoning awaits us on Judgment Day speech possesses a persuasive power an influence that can inflict wounds leave deep scars and have
lasting consequences for the person affected those spoken words linger like a moral poison causing sadness torment and inner Darkness however those who are guilty of such actions will not Escape punishment we are prone to forget but God forgets nothing what we have forgotten continues to carry out its harmful work those who have tarnished the reputation of others through slander May maintain a good reputation themselves sing spiritual songs but do you perceive the desecration shallowness and hypocrisy in this as God perceives it what should we do then we must be so overwhelmed Med by the recognition
of our guilt that we learn to be silent once and for all and listen to what God says but I tell you on the day of judgment people must give an account of Every Idle Word they have spoken there are actions we can and must Rectify primarily with the people we have harmed and also with those we engaged in conversation however and this is profoundly serious there is Injustice that we cannot undo I desire to guard my ways so I do not sin with my tongue
