Yes, they are equal in length. And we know that because they're the same color. You might know the name of this triangle.
This kind of triangle, this type of triangle is called an equilateral triangle. An equilateral triangle. Equilateral comes from two Latin words.
Aquis meaning equal and latis meaning sides. Equal sides are equilateral. Let's look at another triangle.
Okay. What do we see about this triangle? It has two sides that are the same and one side that is different.
When a triangle has two sides that are the same and one different, we call it isosles. Isosesles comes from two Greek words, isos meaning equal and scalos meaning legs. In an isosles triangle, two sides are the same and one is different.
Let's look at one more. We have an equilateral. We have an isosles.
What about this triangle here? Are any of the sides the same? No, they are not.
So here we have a triangle with three different length sides. This is called scaline and it comes from the Greek word meaning uneven. Now we have three different types of triangles according to their sides.
