Khawarij is a term that has begun to spread in the last 15 years. You have certainly come across the word Khawarij, even though the term is very old, and behind it is a story that has not ended until today. We are now living in the most prominent events.
The Khawarij are better than me and you. You say to me, Alaa, that you have exaggerated and the subject is wrong. And your words, my dear, are largely correct.
We start with the story from The beginning is because the Khawarij are an environment that has existed in every generation and time under different names and who have emerged since 1400 years is our story today. The beginning of the spark and the idea of the Kharijites in the first place began with the sedition of the revolt against Uthman ibn Affan and his killing in his house. Abdullah ibn Saba, the hypocrite, came from Yemen and incited the people against Uthman ibn Affan.
He incited some of the people of Iraq and Egypt, so he besieged Uthman’s house and entered upon him and killed him, then They dispersed after they made the city ignite with strife after the death of Othman bin Affan and the assumption of Ali bin Abi Talib, may God be pleased with him, as the caliph. Here something happened between Ali bin Abi Talib and Muawiyah bin Abi Sufyan. Ali wanted things to calm down after the death of Othman and was able to control and then eliminate his killer, Othman.
Muawiyah had another opinion. Muawiyah was ruling the Levant. He wanted his killers, Othman, to be eliminated as quickly as possible so that it would not become arrogant.
Sedition makes it difficult to control them, and they flee and form groups and parties, and each one of them has a point of view according to his experience and vision of the situation, and the dispute continues. For a long time, during this period there were two very important battles in today’s story, which is the Battle of the Camel and the Battle of Safiyya. I will mention them briefly in order to understand their place in the course of the story.
Al-Zubayr bin Al-Awwam and Talha went to Mecca after the killing of Uthman and met the Mother of the Believers, Aisha, may God be pleased with her, and many of the Companions, and they agreed that they would enrich Uthman and take revenge on him. Othman killed him and they decided to start in Iraq, and from there they gathered people around them and tightened the siege on Uthman killed him, and all of this was to establish God’s borders. They arrived in Iraq, specifically Basra.
Its governor was Uthman bin Hanif Ali. He was the one who appointed him over Basra. Uthman bin Hanif spoke to them, meaning what are your requests?
They said, “We want to take revenge for those who killed Uthman. Uthman killed him. ” At this time, they heard the news and gathered an army and went out to fight the army of Al-Zubayr and Tallah.
Here the Battle of the Lesser Camel took place. Al-Zubayr’s army was victorious and defeated him, and the tribes stood with them and supported them and the governor. Basra, while he was Hanif, sent a message to Ali bin Abi Talib regarding the battle and the fighting that took place in Ali when he heard the news.
It is not hidden from you that Ali was brave, but he was also smart. He did not go out to Basra, but to Kufa. From there, he sent Ali an army led by Al-Qaqa’ and Miqdad from Al-Aswad to Basra and met the army of Al-Zubayr and Talha, which was also in Aisha, may God be pleased with her, and they talked to them and they agreed that everyone should return to his place, and Ali would solve things in his own way.
Yes. The matter is logical, in fact, he is the Caliph. When the followers of Abdullah bin Saba heard this hypocrite and the one who went out to kill Uthman, they said, “But the matter will end and we are waiting for you.
See if peace is made and all of them turn against us, we must ignite sedition. ” While the two armies were calm, some of them were preparing to move to return, and each one was in his position, the followers of bin Saba came out. They attacked the army of Al-Zubayr treacherously, and the army of Al-Zubayr thought that they had been betrayed by Ali’s army, so they were saying, “ How can they tell us to come back?
” Then they attacked us, so the army stood up and attacked Ali’s army, and Ali’s army said, “How can they say that they will return and now they are attacking us? ” And so the great battle of the camel occurred and the strife that Abdullah bin Saba al-Zubayr and Talha caused. They abstained from fighting and shouted at the people to stop fighting.
Aisha, may God be pleased with her, used to send everyone she could to stop. The fighting because their goal was killed by Uthman, not Ali’s army, not even Ali himself, so Al-Zubayr left the fighting, but was killed treacherously, and Talha was also killed by those who killed him. The successor was trying to stop the fighting, even those whom Aisha was sending killed them and shot them, then they shot Aisha's camel, so it fell.
Here the fighting stopped because they were facing a great matter . This woman was their mother, the mother of the believers, and the wife of the Messenger, may the peace and blessings of God be upon him. Things got out of control, and the honorable companions and those promised Paradise were killed, so the fighting stopped, and great remorse occurred from the people.
Both sides committed these actions, to the point that some wished to die 20 years ago and not fight the companions on both sides In the meantime, Ali was prohibited from taking spoils in this battle, nor from taking women or prisoners captive. Then Ali sent his mother, Aisha, the Mother of the Believers, to Medina with an honorable reinforcement, carried on the palms of rest. Now we enter into a historical turning point in the history of the Kharijites and in the history of Islamic wars, the battle that expelled and made the Kharijites appear.
The Battle of Siffin Ali bin Abi Talib wanted to isolate Muawiyah from ruling the Levant, so he asked Abdullah bin Abbas took over the rule of the Levant and removed Muawiyah, but he refused because it was better not to dismiss Muawiyah, at least in the midst of strife. So Ali returned and asked Qais bin Saad for the same thing, so Saad went. They said to Muawiyah, “What do you want?
” He said, “ Remove you and take over the rule of the Levant. ” This is what Ali said. Muawiyah said, “I did not pledge allegiance to Ali until he removed me.
” They said: One of those who were present was Abu Muslim Al-Khawlani, and this man in himself is a strange story, and it has its time, God willing. He said to Muawiyah: Are you better than Ali? He said, “No, but he is better than me.
” He said, “Then why don’t you pledge allegiance? ” Muawiyah said, “Give me my hand. Othman killed him and I give him the pledge of allegiance and the ruling directly.
” Abu Muslim Al-Khawlani took the statement and the news and went out with joy for Ali and said, “Ali has completed the previous story. ” Ali said, in what it means, “Get out of it. ” This request was rejected, so he prepared a great army against me.
He went out with a huge army to fight Muawiyah, and Muawiyah also prepared another great army, swords and spears intermingled, and the fighting intensified until. . .
It was one of the toughest battles that Ali fought, to the point that in the hadith narrated by Ali, he said, “ The Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, taught me a supplication to say before sleep. I did not leave it, not even a night. ” He was told, “Not even the night of Siffin,” and this is evidence of the intensity of those nights in the Battle of Siffin.
He said, “Not even the night of Siffin. ” The important thing is The fighting intensified and a number of the companions were killed, including Ammar bin Yasser, who was in Ali’s army. Ali’s army began to prevail over Muawiyah’s army, and the matter ended with peace after the Qur’an was raised on the floor.
The points of spears and swords were like a call for peace, so Ali agreed to this peace, but some of Ali’s army came out and said, “Rather, fight to the death, and there is no peace. ” But Ali did not pay attention to them and completed the peace. They set a place and date for peace in the next Ramadan in Dumat al-Jandal, and peace was concluded between the two parties with Ali returning to Iraq and Muawiyah to the Levant.
And the fighting stopped until things calmed down. Here was the real departure of the Kharijites from the same army of Ali bin Abi Talib. Yes, they rejected this arbitration and their demand was to fight, and why They returned to Iraq, they went out and announced their departure from the ruler and the Commander of the Faithful Ali, and their number was very large, so they went out and repeated, “There is no judgment but for God.
” And whoever does not rule by what God has revealed, those are the disbelievers. Ali said in his famous saying, “A word of truth, I mean falsehood. ” If we notice that this philosophy in saying and this belief is a lot of division.
What is lost is found among them. Understand my words. In a little while, the Kharijites gathered in an area in Iraq called Harwara.
Hence, one of their names was Al-Haruri in this region. They began to impose their control and tyranny as if it was their center and their state, and from here they began to spread their false approach, lying to Ali and his companions, and accusing them of falsehood. Abdullah bin Abbas saw the situation as unbearable and needed to stop it, so he asked Ali to go to them and debate them and point out their mistakes.
Ali said to him, “I don’t think the debate means. ” I disagree with them, but I mean, he went, perhaps he is better. Ibn Abbas went, and the first time they saw him, the Kharijites said, “This is an opponent and from the people of Quraysh, no.
” Talk to him and do not pay attention to him, and Ibn Abbas said, “You want the truth, it is true. ” They said, “Yes. ” He said, “Yes, that is it.
We will adhere to the Book of God, and we see who is right. ” Some of them refused and were afraid, and some of them said, “We discuss, why not? ” We are not afraid.
Ibn Abbas is an intelligent man, a learned jurist, who knows perfectly well all the ins and outs. He said, “What are your requests and what are your arguments? ” They said three things: The first is that why should I make the ruling for men and the ruling belongs to God alone?
So how should the men rule? The second is that the killer of the people of the Jamal did not take him captive and did not take from them. The spoils, the slaves, and the captives mean the Battle of the Camel, which I spoke about previously .
If taking their money, taking them captive, and captivating them was forbidden, then why should I kill them? He killed them. The third is greater, which is that in the peace treaty that was between Muawiyah and Ali, it was written about the Commander of the Faithful, so Muawiyah stipulated that Ali delete the title of Commander of the Faithful, and because they were in a meeting.
Disagreement: The pledge of allegiance to Ali was not completed by Muawiyah and those of the Companions and non-Companions with him, so it was in the interest of reconciliation. To write the Commander of the Faithful, and the Kharijites said, “If he is not the Commander of the Faithful, then he is the Commander of the Unbelievers. There is no power nor strength except with God.
” These were their three trivial arguments, as if you were talking with the mentality of children. So Ibn Abbas said, “These matters, what if you respond to them, and with the evidence, return from your departure and return to ruling over me? ” They said, “Yes,” and he said, “As for The first is that it is the rule of men and there is no rule except for God, so there is no objection.
Rather, the rule is for God that we rule men. Otherwise, how will we rule the Qur’an when the Qur’an will not speak, and the evidence for that is His saying Almighty, O you who have believed, do not kill game while you are sacred. And whoever of you kills it intentionally, his recompense is the same as what he killed of the camels.
It will be judged by just men among you. And this is an arbitration for men. And the Almighty said, “ And if you fear a discord between them, then send an arbitrator from his people and an arbitrator from her people.
” This is also an arbitration for men, and these are the situations that God rules. In it, men are more insignificant than this blood that has been spilled now. And what he said before, what do you think about this?
They said, “I came out of it, and we agree on that. ” The second remained, so he said: “ As for The second is that Ali was not taken captive and took spoils from the battle of the camel. Tell me, who among you dares to have the mother of the believers, Aisha, may God be pleased with her, in his captivity and among his spoils, so you will be disbelievers in all cases.
So whoever you captive while you know that she is your mother, the mother of the believers, you have disbelieved, and if you say that she is not your mother, then you have disbelieved. So what is your response to this? They said, “I was injured and got out of it.
Well, what is the third? ” He said, “As for the third, that I have to erase the name of the Commander of the Faithful. This is even the Messenger of God.
” May God’s prayers and peace be upon him in the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah when he ordered Ali himself to erase the word of the Messenger of God when the infidels said to her: If we knew that you were the Messenger of God, we would not have fought you nor obeyed you in that. Write only your name and the name of your father, so what was written in the peace treaty was Muhammad Ibn Abdullah. Should we say that he is not the Messenger of God?
Because his name is not written, so he said to them: Okay, now that I have answered all the arguments. What is your response? The Kharijites.
Their ranks and papers were mixed up. Some of them returned. For the truth, and some of them were stubborn and continued their heinous actions.
News of the debate reached Ali bin Abi Talib, so Ali returned to debate with them, and the same thing was repeated, the same thing that happened with Ibn Abbas. Ali said to them, “In order to guide the sedition and not delay the topics. ” Ali said to them, “You want to remain loyal to Ali.
It is okay, but do not attack anyone. ” And do not tempt anyone against me here. He wants to suppress any strife and any fighting as much as possible, and every incident has a story, but Khawarij are Khawarij, meaning if they revolt against.
. . The ruling of the Commander of the Faithful: How could they be Khawarij?
He began to stir up strife and harm the Muslims and the Companions, and they began to test the Companions, and based on their success in this test, whether they would kill him or leave him, see. So ridiculous that one of the companions killed him and killed his wife while she was pregnant, cut open her stomach and disemboweled her. News of this killing reached Ali bin Abi Talib, so he ordered an inquiry into who had done this heinous act.
The Kharijites said, “I mean, in a style that is courageous. We all did. ” I mean, what do you do?
What do you do? Ok, I’ll see what he does. Here he decided.
He had to wipe them out forever, and he gathered his army and went out to them, and a decisive battle took place between them, killing Ali And his army was many of them, and he trampled on their faces, and many of the Kharijites fled, and only a very few of the Muslim army were killed. They did not exceed ten. After this battle and the terrible defeat, they gathered what they longed for from the Kharijites and decided to take revenge on everyone.
At the heads of these Kharijites were Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Muljam, al-Baraka al-Tamimi, and Omar ibn Bakr Al-Tamimi, and they said, “We will eliminate these three companions. ” They meant Ali, Muawiyah, and Omar bin Al-Aas. We will eliminate them.
And we rested, so Abdul Rahman said, “I kill Ali in Kufa,” and Al-Baraka Al-Tamimi said, “I kill Muawiyah in the Levant. ” Omar bin Bakr said, “I kill Omar bin Al-Aas in Egypt. ” By the way, all of them were governors in their regions, so they said, “Okay, let’s start.
” They agreed on a specific time, which was the seventeenth night of Ramadan and before prayer. Al-Fajr kills the three companions at once and at the same time, on the basis that if there had been a difference in killing, anyone else could have warned. The other, Abdul Rahman, went to Kufa and hid and waited for Ali to come out for the dawn prayer and killed him with a poisoned dagger.
Ali died as a martyr for the sake of God, and Omar bin Bakr Al-Tamimi went to kill Amr bin Al-Aas Amr bin Al-Aas was an imam and led the Muslims in prayer, but this day he did not go out because he was sick, so someone came out instead and killed this other one. Who was in the place of Amr bin Al-Aas remained the third important one. Al-Barak Al-Tamimi went to the Levant and lurked for Muawiyah to kill him, so he wounded him, but he did not.
He kills him and he and Omar bin Bakr are arrested. These three choices were made in secret because they are cowards and cannot face a direct confrontation. I mean, who can fight Ali, Muawiyah and Omar bin Al-Aas in a direct confrontation?
Glory be to God. How do we see that these are hungry and powerful? No one can usually kill them except by treachery.
And the plot, and this is the same thing that happened with Omar bin Al-Khattab. He was killed during the dawn prayer and poisoned. The story of the Kharijites did not end here because they expanded and spread.
Many sects emerged from under them, such as the Ibadi sects and sects such as the Shiites and the ISIS. I said that so that it would not be deleted, and some of the contemporary sects that claim to be right and call for incorrect jihad and rebellion against the Muslim rulers and abandonment of the unbelievers. Personally, I see the Kharijites as the most acceptable sects because they saw the corruption of the sect from its beginning and the words of the Companions against them.
Even the Messenger, may the peace and blessings of God be upon him, the Kharijites will not have their opinion established until the Hour of Judgment. They will already rebel against each other. Every time they appointed a caliph for themselves, they revolted against him.
You might be surprised if I told you that the first to be just were the Kharijites. They were the Muslims. Yes, in fact, the people of polytheism and outright disbelief among its lovers and their companions, the Kharijites, pray and fast and recite the Qur’an to the point that if you compare your worship to their worship, you will say that you are falling short, and there is a great disparity between them, but this is what it means that If you saw Zahid Abed, you would call him an outsider, in the hadith narrated by Ali bin Abi Talib, he said, “ I heard the Messenger of God about him.
” May God’s prayers and peace be upon him. He says, “A people will come out at the end of time. ” The teeth of the foolish dreamers, that is, the young and the weak-minded, say, “Who is the best of the words of the wild?
” He means the Qur’an. Their faith does not go beyond their throats. Meaning, faith did not take root in their hearts.
It did not even go beyond their throats and did not reach their hearts. They pass through religion as an arrow passes through. From the shooting, meaning he leaves Islam very quickly, so wherever you meet them, kill them, for in killing them there is a reward for the one who killed them.
On the Day of Resurrection, and in the hadith narrated by Abu Saeed Al-Khudri, he said, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, a people will emerge among you who will despise your prayers with their prayers, your fasting with their fasting, and your work with their work, and they recite the Qur’an but it does not go beyond their throats. That is why the Khawarij today do not call themselves Khawarij, but this is a title given to them, but Mama was their name as long as she was. Their characteristics are as we mentioned, so they are Kharijites, even if they say that they are from the Sunnis and the community, then they are among the most severe and dangerous sects.
Islam and the Muslims and their good deeds are corrupt. They have not even entered their hearts. Their hearts are black, hardened and corrupt.
The Kharijites see that everyone is wrong and they are the good ones, and they disbelieve anyone who commits a sin, and they deserve people in front of their worship, as if they were the only reformers. If you listen to music and follow forbidden series, movies, anime, and games, and drink smoke and wear clothes. Short or you are not veiled and disobedient, then you are infidels according to the Kharijites or Ali The least is the most ungodly of creation.
There is poetry between you and disbelief. We have not concluded that they are transgressions and they are sins, but they do not amount to disbelief. We are all sinners.
We ask God for safety, protection , repentance, and forgiveness. This applies to any Muslim, regardless of his position. The Kharijites say that whoever commits major sins such as adultery, theft, and others is immediately declared a disbeliever, and this is completely contrary to the words of the Messenger about him.
May peace and blessings be upon you. I will give you an example. Is it possible to find a Muslim ruler who has errors in judgment and is guilty of sins?
Tell me, Ola. There is a human being in life, whether a ruler or a ruled. He has no mistakes and transgressions.
They are not angels. In the end, they are beautiful, beautiful human beings. The Khawarij.
No, his regime is different. If you are a ruler and you have sins and mistakes, we must go out against you and destroy and bring in a new ruler, of course. The new ruler will also have mistakes, let us not go out on him, and so on until the Hour comes, by God, what is this system?
In this way you will not enjoy security or stability, and you will not rest, and there will be temptations around you day and night. Therefore, religion and governance and all of these matters should not be taken with emotion, but with knowledge and evidence and referring to scholars who are firmly established in knowledge. Not a person on Twitter who incited the people and went out against a certain ruler and spread their blood on the ground while he was sitting at home under the air conditioner.
Imagine with me that he is the Kharijites. They consider it permissible to revolt against Ali and Uthman, two of the best companions, so what about the rulers of this time, and an important matter, do not be deceived by your worship and condemn yourself, and see that you are the only reformer, and weak consideration is that people are better, many of them are better than you, and you are only a reason, and guidance first and last is in the hands of God. Ok, how do we know the Kharijites to be honest?
The matter is difficult, so the matter is left to the scholars. They know them. Show them to us.
Are the Kharijites infidels? First, they are a misguided, innovated sect, and it is necessary. Fighting them, and this is a matter on which no two people disagree.
Some of its notables may be judged as disbelievers if they do things that take them out of Islam. They are immoral and heretical, and they must be fought to keep their evil away from Muslims. This is the opinion of the majority of scholars.
This was the story of the dogs of fire. Publish a clip for everyone. Let them know who they are and what the origin of this sect is.
I honor you. On the third channel, Siraj Al -Aqul, and my account on All together, and may it be an ongoing charity on our behalf and on behalf of all Muslims, living and dead. May peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you.
