The KNIME Hub is a rich source of materials. Here you can find nodes, workflows, components and extensions to open or download to use in your own installation of KNIME. For example, let’s say I want to find a workflow that can help me with customer analysis.
I enter the word “customer” into the KNIME Hub search box. And then filter the results by workflow. Looking at the list of some 200 workflows (at this current time of recording), I decide I would like to have a look at the basic customer segmentation workflow.
I click this entry in the list and the workflow webpage opens. The webpage for this workflow shows a lot of useful information like the layout of the workflow with all of its nodes and branches. I can review the associated license and find a short link which I can use to share the webpage with my coworkers.
In "External resources", I can find links to websites, blogs, etc. containing relevant information. Further below I can see lists of extensions and nodes used in the workflow.
If I’m searching for specific nodes on the KNIME Hub - rather than workflows - the webpage layout is the same. In addition to all of the technical information I can also scroll down a bit to see a list of workflows this specific node is used in as well as what other nodes are most frequently inserted into a workflow after this one. Now, if you decide you would like to have this workflow in your local workspace, you can click "Download workflow" and save it as a .
knwf file. If the workflow is one our example workflows, you can also open it directly in KNIME by clicking "Open workflow" here. If the workflow requires a specific extension that is missing from your installation, it will tell you.
Just click “Yes” in the dialog and complete the installation procedure you’re familiar with. You can also install any extension from its KNIME Hub page, by dragging&dropping to your KNIME workbench. In the same way you can also drag nodes straight from the KNIME Hub to your KNIME workbench and insert them into the workflow you’re building.
No matter how much information is available here, sometimes you might have more questions and would find it useful to talk to the workflow author directly. In this case you can ask the author questions in the Discussions area. Here I can leave comments and ask my question.
