so with the 36 hour fast you're really bringing glucose down you're really bringing insulin down so of your three sex hormones estrogen progesterone and testosterone the two that are going to love a 36 hour fast are going to be estrogen and testosterone will probably love it as well but primarily estrogen sugar going up and down We're In It Together Dr Mindy here and on this video I'm going to talk about how women should do the 36 hour fast so women those of you that want to lose weight sit tight with me I want you to

loss there but I want to speak specifically to those of you who are not getting the weight loss results that you want so you're going to need to go every once in a while a little bit longer at 36 hours so that you can flip that fat burning switch okay but here's what I want you to know for women so in fast like a girl what I did is I created something called the fasting cycle so I don't know if you can see it but this is a fasting cycle we did a visual that showed
at different parts and this is for ovulating women right now I want to speak about and post-menopausal women don't leave I gotcha what what we want to look at is at different points of your cycle when those hormones are coming in because remember in a 28 30 day period you've got hormones that are coming in and then those hormones leave and a new hormone comes in so it's very Ebbs there's a lot of Ebbs in flow Rhythm to your hormones in a 30-day period so we need to get to know these hormones and what food
and fast they like so for my cycling women I want you to know that we created something called the power phase it's the first 10 days of your cycle and it's the five days after ovulation where your hormones dip and that is the perfect perfect time for a 36 hour fast I would say the best time of all is that first 10 days in that first Power phase this is where we really want to lean into those those longer fast it's going to be easier because estrogen is saying thank you I love I love when
you keep glucose and Insulin down so you're going to do really well with a fast at that point here's what I want you to know about progesterone progesterone is coming in at the back half of your cycle so this is the week before your period we I call this the nurture phase in the new book not a good time for a 36 hour fast please don't do a 36 hour fast during that time and then the third phase that I talk about in the book is called the manifestation phase and with the manifestation phase this
is an ovulation this is when estrogen progesterone and testosterone are high you've got a lot of hormones coming in so you you know 24 hours is usually good about that point you don't want to go longer than 24 during that ovulation period so you'll see when you get the book how I've let I got this so that you can look and choose the different length fast that works you just go straight to the fasting cycle that's what it's called and you can see it and just choose your fast according to your actual uh the day
of your cycle so for my cycling women 36 hour fast just needs to go in those power phases when hormones are low bottom line okay my menopausal women so you're not getting estrogen back you're not getting progesterone back I'm with you totally got that here's here's what I want you to remember is that someday days we need to fast longer when we go through menopause one of the challenges that we have is that estrogen as it dips we become more insulin resistant so really from the bottom of my heart what I want to tell you
is if you're holding on to weight and you're in those post-menopausal years I really want you to throw a 36 hour fast in there more often once a week every couple of weeks if you're super ambitious whereas the cycling woman if you're really ambitious to lose weight I'd say once a month is fine if you really want to go after that weight loss but the postmenopausal woman doesn't have a cycle to time to so you can pretty much do your 36 hour fast whenever you want and I would recommend because we become more insulin resistant
as we go through menopause once a week every couple of weeks again if you're really ambitious and you don't have to time it you just have to make sure that you're not doing the 36 hour fast over and over again in fact what I would recommend you do is go and look at the video I did it was about two videos before this where I talk about a study done in cell metabolism where they looked at a group of people thousands of people both men and women and they saw that if they did 36 hours
of fasting followed by 12 hours of eating they did that for 30 days that they lost quite a bit of weight around the midsection for my post-menopausal women that would be an amazing that would be an amazing thing to try if you're really ambitious and wanting to lose weight so again a lot of nuance for us when we're looking at fasting for women we have to consider our hormones Men You're driven by one hormone you're driven by testosterone so you you know you testosterone does pretty well with fasting it loves men's testosterone can be increased
by like 2 000 percent with a 24 hour fast women we have to take progesterone into into mind and post menopausal and Perry menopausal women we have to realize that his estrogen goes down fasting is even more of our tool now to be able to release weight we just got to may also take progesterone into con into consideration a lot of protocols in here for postmenopausal women a lot of protocols for every condition you could ever think of so it is out for pre-order you will get a hard copy this is my galley copy and
