Fanta has a dark origin story as the drink was initially made from food scraps in Nazi Germany it all began when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor and America ended World War II as this meant American companies had to stop doing business with Germany this was a disaster for Max Kaif who was the head of Coca-Cola in Germany suddenly he could no longer import Coke syrup from America and so he had no product to sell but kaithe wasn't going to give up that easily he ordered a team of chemists to create a new drink for the German
Market it would still be a fizzy caffeinated soft drink but since they couldn't use Coke syrup they used leftovers like apple fibers fruit pulp and Whey which is the byproduct of cheese curdling it doesn't exactly sound appealing but they branded the new drink Fanta and it became a huge hit in Germany especially since many foreign drinks had been banned due to the war after Hitler was defeated the Coca-Cola Company rebranded Fanta and changed the recipe to get away from its Nazi Origins they also promoted Kaif who helped make Fanta one of the biggest soft drinks
