We all know that foreign trade is not an exact science. Based on this, we create customized solutions for each client in each segment. Each segment must follow a specific methodology for the product being brought into the country, whether it's being internalized, exported, or imported, and TITO conducts a thorough analysis to ensure no applicable benefits are missed in these operations.
The first step in creating a well-formulated operation is to assess the client's intent with the product they are internalizing in the country. Whether there is urgency for the product, if the focus is on lower cost to determine the mode of transport to be used in the operation. An example is offering the client an air import when the client's interest is to have the lowest cost in the operation.
Another is offering the client a sea import when the client's interest is speed in product delivery. These two examples clearly show that the main step in formulating a good logistics solution is understanding the client's objective with that import. The main costs that could be avoided today in foreign trade, such as storage and demurrage, are usually consequences of poorly planned work, poorly executed, and often both, such as an inaccurate declaration of a misclassified product, or a tax improperly collected.
Today, in the market, being technically good is not a differentiator, it's a requirement.
