it's the photo from the White House causing controversy today the photo shows president Trump posing with White House interns at the president's request all the young men and women give his thumbs up signature but look at the intern in the back row he's making a hand gesture that's quite different than any of the others to some it appears to symbolize white power the white power signal is made with the right hand and outstretched fingers that make a wnp as in white power controversial all right figures Like Richard Spencer have flashed the sign so did the
white nationalists at the Charlottesville Virginia March last August so who's the intern his name is Jack Brewer he's a recent graduate of Emory University in Atlanta and he's from Chicago He defended himself on Twitter saying that people are misinterpreting the photo I emulated the okay sign the president sometimes makes that was foolish I should have listened more closely to the grander in Chief and given the thumbs up I'm proud of my Jewish Heritage and strongly reject the hateful views associated with racist white power organizations I would never make common calls with them [Music]
