how the world looked Before the Flood of Noah the loss of almost an entire human race the loss of most common and most exotic animals in history the destruction of all buildings and monuments the washing away of forests and vast lands endless rain and overflowing water and the loss of aboring and fledging civilization these are some of the events that Mark the prediluvian period that is the period before the flood of Noah the flood of Noah is one of the most significant event in the history of the world it characterizes the destruction of the World
by water and flood as a result of human failure to live according to the commands and injunctions of God according to the Bible's account of the flood of Noah only eight people survived the flood Noah Noah's wife Noah's Three Sons Shem ham and Jeth as well as their respective wives the rest of humanity who were living on the earth at that time perished in the flood the flood of Noah was a complete reset for Humanity it was a comprehensive cleansing of the world and a second chance for Humanity to recalibrate and put its acts together
it was a show of the power Justice and mercy of the almighty God but what was the world like before this great correcting flood that is what this episode is about the world was indeed mysterious with many cultures still unknown to us as well as the existence of exotic and wild creatures that are no longer in existence this period commonly referred to as the pred deluvian or anti- deluvian period was characterized by people who lived hundreds of years Giants that roamed the Earth and angels that lived amongst humans it was an ERA unlike any we
have experienced since then the period is recorded in the first chapters of the Book of Genesis while the Bible does not provide extensive details about human accomplishments during the time it does mention a few notable individuals and developments to include number one Agriculture and civilization the Bible mentions that humans engaged in agriculture and began to establish settlements for example it mentions that Cain one of Adam and Eve's sons became a farmer and his brother Abel kept flocks Genesis 42 number two the invention of musical instruments Genesis 4:21 mentions Jubal who is described as the father
of those who play the liar and pipe this suggests that musical instruments were developed dur during this time number three technological advancements while not explicitly mentioned it is inferred that various technological advancements and developments in craftsmanship would have occurred during this time as humans began to settle and form Societies in fact tubal Kain one of the sons of Cain mentioned in Genesis 4:22 is known for being the first blacksmith he was also the first to create a weapon of War number four longevity one notable aspect of the prediluvian period as described in the Bible is
the extraordinary longevity of some individuals according to the Bible people in this period often lived for several centuries Methuselah for example is said to have lived for 969 years Genesis 527 it is worthy of note that even though human civilization achieved Great accomplishments it also perpetuated a culture of sin which eventually led to its destruction but what was life like for people at that time what did they do what happened in the world before the great flood obviously the first anti- deluvian family was the family of Adam as the Bible reports after being expelled from
the Garden of Eden Adam and Eve settled and had daughters and sons notably Cain and Abel Cain the first son of the first human couple was also the first murderer of the anti- deluvian world he brutally killed Abel his own brother after this awful sin Cain roamed the Earth and eventually built a city in the Land of Nod Cain named this city after his first son Enoch this anti deluvian city is the first city mentioned in the bible another interesting point of note is that the anti- deluvian human was National from the very beginning of
creation of course humans underwent a significant intellectual Evolution as we acquire knowledge develop new technologies and cultivate new cultures but there was no significant physical evolutionary transformation for our specie as argued by evolutionary scientists and theorists this becomes very clear when we look at the biblical accounts of the period Adam and Eve were rational and thinking beings and so were their children and onward Cain and his children as well as Seth the other son of Adam and Eve and his descendants were responsible for Great Inventions with the industry and Ingenuity of jabal Jubal and tubalcain
anti- deluvian Society learned to live in tents or houses and to breed herds of cattle and other livestock they learned to develop the Arts with the use of musical instruments and to forge tools of copper and iron these learning and industry came to a head in Noah's time the Bible records the intellectual capacity the effort and the resources that Noah put into building an ark that survived a global flood of endless rain for 40 days and 40 nights it is certain that the anti- deluvian period was a period of great inventions and wonderful developments there
have been a lot of controversy about the length of time of anti- deluvian period that is how long the Earth lasted Before the Flood of Noah the Bible is not very specific on the matter however many Bible scholars propose that the Before the Flood might have been longer than the period After the flood some Scholars have used the genealogical list in Genesis 5 as a source of calculating the length of the period however the result cannot be conclusive it's unlikely that one could establish exact dates times from the genealogical record simply because that's not it
intended purpose biblical genealogies are more concerned with establishing lineages than with defining chronological data for example there could be intentional gaps in these genealogical lists to emphasize individuals who held particular significance in Biblical history for instance when the Bible records that one person begat another it implies that the former is merely an ancestor of the latter not necessarily their direct parent the period Before the Flood is still a mystery yet as we have shown so far there is a lot we can uncover about the period during that era for example there was only one language
and God allowed people to live for many centuries this likely played a crucial role in the technological progress and the transmission of information from generation to generation the Bible says that the sinful lifestyle adopted by Cain quickly spread throughout the anti- deluvian world for example lamech a descendant of Cain was the first to adopt polygamy and he was also a double murderer who took pride in his cruelty as for Cain himself after killing Abel he did not seem to have fully repented from his sinful ways furthermore there was the matter of the Fallen Angels the
Bible records that in the period before the flood the sons of God mingled with the daughters of men it is true that some interpreters argue that this meant relations between spiritual and human beings but most biblical Scholars interpret the sons of God to be fallen angels in other words the supposedly Fallen Angels had Canal relationships with women on earth the children of these relationships are known as the Nephilim the Nephilim were giants born from the mixture of the sons of God and the daughters of men the fallen angels and their Nephilim descendants are said to
be responsible for transferring great wealth of technological knowledge to humanity including the technology of War however in the anti deluvian period there were also people who were truly committed to the Lord Adam and Eve's Second Son Abel for example was the first martyr who is until this day remembered for his steadfastness and faith in God Enoch was another who had such a close relationship with God that he was said to have not experienced death and then you have the great patriarch Noah that we have already talked about Noah was a rare and exceptional anti- deluvian
that feared the Lord and obeyed him without question it was for this reason he and his family were the only people spared when God's patience with the world ran out thus the anti- deluvian period ended with the unleashing of God's justice and wrath leading to the destruction of the Earth in the New Testament the Apostle Peter in his first epistle 3 and: 20 records the end of the anti- deluvian story by stating the following to those who were disobedient long ago when God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built
in it only a few people eight in all were saved through water let everything that happened before the flood of Noah serves as a warning to us all the Lord Jesus Christ himself said that in the last days of our time the pred deluvian lifestyle would be reemerge most will live according to their own will their own desires feasting celebrating socializing and ignoring the dictates of God they will be too busy for God and for the good of humanity then just like what happened with the anti-d deluvian generation God's Wrath and Justice will unleash bringing
