Christian Meditation | Mind Renewal | Part 3

well I want to share again on the subject of Christian meditation Christian meditation this is my third and final hour because time is just failing me I'm not going to be able to be with you but I believe the things the Lord has put on my heart to share have been very beneficial I appreciate the feedback we've gotten tremendous feedback from our online church and our partners on how this is helping them to renew their minds CU many times we hear about mind renewal but no one follows up with how do we renew our minds

how does the process work in real time and in real life and so I have a lot to to cover again time would fail me on 2 Corinthians and going to 2 Corinthians chapter 3 uh that we with open face beholding in a glass the glory of the Lord are changed from glory to Glory even as by the spirit of the lord we won't have time to to look at that but how do you behold the glory of God in Christian meditation in Christian meditation time would fail to go to 2 Corinthians 5:17 therefore If

any man be in Christ we're a new creature and then he says behold old things have passed away and all things have become new what is it mean to behold the word is an Old King James word that means to beheld by when you behold something you don't glance at it you don't just look at it you're captivated by it and that can only happen in Christian meditation and so we've dealt with all the things I'm not saying and then now I want to get into some things on how God renews your mind how God

renews your mind mind renewal is not a work of the flesh any more than being born again is a work of the flesh it is God that renews our minds and we have to learn how to cooperate with God in this process of n mind renewal because that's how our lives get changed they get transformed Romans 122 and then 2 Corinthians 3 I didn't quote all of 2 Corinthians 3:18 but we are changed again transformed as we behold Jesus as we behold the work of God and the word of God and that happens in this

Christian discipline called meditation Christian meditation now let's go back and one of the main things that many people need a foundation in is what Jesus said about prayer about prayer go to go to Matthew 6 verse6 and again I'm going to cover a lot of scriptures because of of time constraints I'm asking the AVL people to work with me and help me to cover some things kind of fast that normally I would just quote but I I really labored over this in prayer yesterday and I felt like the Lord truly spoke to me and said

we need to see this we need to look at it in the word of God and make sure that we're established in how God renews our minds how God renews our minds now we started with this passage let's look at it again though Matthew chapter chapter 6 Jesus is teaching on on prayer and verse 6 says but you when you pray go into your room and when you've shut your door pray to your father who is in the secret place and your father who sees in secret will reward you openly we can all have a

closet with a door that we could go into and call that our secret place we could all have a room we could have a place we go to but the bottom line is the Bible says here that God meets Us in the secret place he meets Us in the secret place and I submit to you that the secret place that God meets you in is your heart your heart that's the secret place that's where you and God and you and God Alone commune and there are many passages in Psalms that talks about being still waiting

upon the Lord again be still and know that I am that I am God and it's in the still place it's in the quiet place where's that at now while I can go into a physical closet and close myself off with a physical door from the world I can go into the secret place of my heart close the door on the voices of the world the philosophies of the world the thoughts of the world the opinions of the world I can close the door in my heart to the World in Christian meditation and commune even

on my bed with my heart and meet God In My Heart in the secret place where he will do something in secret that later will show up in my life outwardly hallelujah amen and the practical way to do that is learning to meditate learning to ponder we've looked at that learning to imagine visualize learning to mutter learning to to commune with God and I I I wish I could spend more time on this because personally I've already shared with you how that this is one of the best practices of my walk with the Lord and

Christian discipline that anytime anywhere I can commune in the secret place of my heart I can shut the door of things that are coming at me even in my everyday life and commune with the Lord and I can't I can't encourage you enough to get past this well you have to go to a cave and you have to cross your legs and you have to hunt come for 6 hours in order to truly meditate on the Lord no this discipline you can develop in your life where you can you can go into the secret place

while you're driving down the road again time is such an enemy of me uh because I want to elaborate further and further on things and you just you you you can't you can't stay there you got to you got to move on but again I'll teach on these things and people will say something not so smart like I have to work for a living and I shared with you how people work all day long and they meditate on the lives of the devil they worry all day long they're filled with anxiety all day long they're

filled with worry they're Imagining the worst case scenario all day long they're muttering all day long it's called murmuring and complaining yes amen amen you responded about the same last time that's why that came back we're not talking about religion we're talking about a relationship with the Lord that I can go to the secret place while I'm working I can go to the secret place when there's a a situation that is trying to minister anxiety to me and worry to me I can discipline my mind I wish I had time to go to Colossians 3

that talks about if you therefore be risen with Christ seek those things which are above where Christ sth on the right hand of God not on things on the earth set your your mind set it set your mind on things above not on things on the earth how do you do that Christian meditation Christian meditation now let's go to one I I wanted to get to both Services Joshua it's familiar so I'm I'm going to hurry but I I just felt like I had to at least go here and look at this still Joshua chapter

1 I had planned on on covering verses 1 through N I can't do that now but the bottom line is Joshua has an assignment by God that is daunting how would you like to follow the ministry of Moses how many you think about that for a minute Moses my servant is dead and you are in charge oh no not me I've watched these rebellious people nearly kill this guy all the way through the desert and don't get upset or offended I didn't call them rebellious God did so I'm just saying that can you imagine standing

there and the first thing God has to say to him is to be strong and courageous told him a couple of times you have to be strong and courageous why is God telling him to be strong and courageous because he's shaking in his boots I am asked by God to do something that the greatest Prophet that has ever ever been raised up second only to Jesus and John the Baptist uh who couldn't get them into the promised land and now you're asking me to do something Moses couldn't do didn't do don't think for one minute

he wasn't shaking in his boots and God says I'm commanding you I'm not suggesting it I'm not recommending it I'm telling you You' got to be strong and courageous to fulfill my will in your life life and it won't be much different for most of us brothers and sisters that you have to be strong and courageous in this culture to obey God you got to have grit to raise kids today you got to have some grit somebody said that politics was so messy and I thought are you serious raising kids is messy staying married is

messy amen or ohen you got to be strong and courageous to obey God let's just be honest let's cut to the chase why don't more Christians obey God they're afraid they're intimidated and they don't have the courage of their convictions boy that went over well maybe this is good it's my last hour Hallelujah I want to be strong and courageous how do I do that because I've been in situations where I was a wimp I was intimidated I backed down I backed up I backed out and the minute I did it I knew better so

how do we get strong and courageous if you'll take the time to read the verses before verse 8 he says that if you'll meditate in these things that I'm saying to you you will observe to do Faith obedience and that's what's going to make us Prosper is being strong and courageous having faith God kind of faith in the situations we're facing in our homes our our marriages our businesses our cities etc etc and so he kind of wraps it up in verse eight this book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth but

you shall meditate in it day and night that you may observe to do that you may observe to do why don't more people observe to do they haven't meditated in the word day and night so they haven't truly had their minds renewed they know scripture they've memorized some things maybe but they haven't had their minds renewed which comes through meditating day and night in the word of God and once you meditate in the word of God day and night God does something on the inside of us and God renews our minds from within and now

because of what God's doing on the inside of us it's easy to observe to do amen this book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth so remember meditating it and humming and it and memorizing scriptures a part of meditation is pondering imagining and muttering this book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth but meditate in it day and night that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it for then you will make your way prosperous and then you will have good success and I don't

think I have verse n up there but verse verse n starts off with have I not commanded you be strong and of good C courage and be not afraid be not dismayed for the Lord your God is with you how many of us get discouraged how many of us get dismayed it's because brothers and sisters we've not meditated in the word of God day and night where the Revelation I'm not talking about a a a heavy Revy or some mental I'm excited about what that says when you hear from God and when your mind is

renewed from within you're not excited about what God said you're excited about doing the work or the written word that God said praise the Lord I need to know who to talk to who who's listening hallelujah praise God I guarantee if you'll sit there and think for a minute you have absolutely disobeyed God you've been discouraged you've been dismayed you've been confused and you know what the Bible said but evidently you missed out on what it meant and you missed out on how to apply it to your life you missed out on how to live

it how to be one with it how it how it gets off of that page and the letter of it and from your heart and within your heart and your parts of your heart God does something personal in the secret place that changes you you're not changing for God God's changing you for himself and that happens through yielding your mind to him the power of the Christian life doesn't come from the mind but it definitely comes through it you have to agree with God you have to realign your mind with what God's will is and

what God's word is now I want to look at the old Covenant and the law and I want to run through these as quick as possible but the Ten Commandments was like the centerpiece of of the old Covenant law and God gave it to Moses on Mount Si and there's just bits and pieces that you kind of have to put together to appreciate the Ten Commandments to appreciate how they were given and to appreciate the work of God even in the old Covenant then we're going to bring it over to the New Covenant and I'm

just going to tell you right now you don't have to get excited you can sit still you can be calm but you need to pray for me I might have a runaway when we get into the New Covenant I might dance I might dance I might dance the POA dance and embarrass every grandchild I got that's when the anointing is on me when I do the POA dance because I don't think we understand how God gave those 10 and sealed his Covenant and so I think we're missing something still in the New Covenant and how

God seals this New Covenant in our lives how he's working so let's go to Exodus uh 24 Exodus chapter 24 and let's kind of start building how these Ten Commandments came about Exodus 24 look at verse 12 then the Lord said to Moses come up to me on the mountain mountain and be there and I will give you tablets of stone and the law and the Commandments which I I have written that you may teach them the original Ten Commandments on two stones two tablets were written by God that needs to sink in it might

not be new to you it's new to a lot of people I guarantee you there's thousands of people watching have never heard that God wrote the Ten Commandments on those two stones and gave them to Moses now go to Exodus 31 we have to skip over a lot of stuff but we're going to follow a thread here Exodus 31 look at Verse 18 and when he had made an end of spe speak in with him on the mountain remember God gave him Moses the Ten Commandments that he wrote but then he shared this about those

Ten Commandments and he shared this and he spoke this and he declared this and he gave all those Commandments and and rituals and statutes and but the Ten Commandments he wrote look at it and when he had made an end of speaking with him on Mount siani he gave Moses two tablets of the testimony tablets of stone written with the Finger of God you yeah you you really got to let that sink in before we before we evolve in our understanding to what's happening in our hearts even today thousands of years removed God is the

one that wrote on these two tablets front and back back Thou shalt not have any other gods before me but then he talked about after he wrote it I'm a jealous God Exodus 34:14 God says this is my name I'm a jealous God you shall not bow down to any graven images you shall not use the Lord God and his name in vain that's not talking about cussing though I recommend we not cuss it's talking about saying God said when God didn't say it's talking about coming into my office and throwing the God card down

and say that God told you to do something that is not love that is not right that is not holy that is not considering your neighbor and you're working ill to your neighbor but you say God said that's using the Lord God's name in vain I don't like it when someone says Dwayne said and I did didn't say that I can't imagine how God feels when we say God said and God did not say that's using his name in vain you shall remember the Sabbath and and keep it holy you shall you shall obey your

parents in the Lord and honor your father and your mother and I'm going to make you a promise with this one commandment out of the 10 I'm going to give you a promise that things will go well for you and you will live long on the earth never disobey your parents obeying the foolishness of men never dishonor your parents by hiding things from them amen I'm saying a lot fast and don't be killing meaning murder do not shed innocent blood he wrote that with his finger do not murder do not shed innocent blood amen do

not commit adultery I mean fire came down from it the Finger of God I mean I maybe I've just got a a different imagination this was a problem I had in school they said I was ad d a d d d d d d triple D and and then it I couldn't focus it wasn't that I couldn't focus it's that I had a thousand things going through my brain at one time and I was trying to focus on all thousand but I mean I can see I mean the the hand of God the span of

his hand and with his hand he created the cosmos he created all these galaxies the Stars the moon the Sun but with his finger I can just see it coming down that's why that that mountain was smoking there it was thundering it was quaking it was cuz God's finger Thou shalt not commit adultery Thou shalt not steal Thou shalt not burn your cities down and loot Thou shalt not in different states say people can take up to $900 and it not be stealing or they be charged no I am the Lord thy God and I

say to my people those who are separated those who are to come out from among them Thou shalt not steal Thou shalt not bear false witness Thou shalt not become a news acre on CNN bearing false witness knowing you're lying there's a difference in lying and false witnessing lying and we lie and we fail and we need to even as Christians repent when we lie but when we lie basically we're protecting ourselves when we bear false witness we're trying to destroy someone and we're lying painting false narratives to destroy somebody and we know we're lying

you shall not do that to one another you shall not covet quit coveting your neighbor's wife quit coveting your neighbor's good quick coveting power to Lord over people and manipulate people and commit tyranny says the Lord thy [Applause] God and he wrote it with his finger I wanted you to see that because there's people who don't know the Bible today and they would think I'm making that up I just read it to you he wrote it with his with his finger with his finger go to Exodus 30 Exodus 32 just one one chapter over look

at Verse 18 that's verse 15 Dwayne Verse 18 so it was as soon as he came near the camp so God hands Moses two tablets in both arms written on both sides and he's coming down off the mountain mountain with the big 10 and when he gets to the camp Israel's at the bottom of the mountain breaking all 10 and so what happened he's got the uh the first edition of The Ten Commandments here and he says so it was as soon as he came near the camp that he saw the calf and the dancing

so Moses's anger became hot and he cast the tablets out of his hands and broke them at the foot of the mountain Moses broke the law and and no one has broke the law like Moses broke the law I mean can you imagine this carrying a big 10 can't wait to get it to God's sanctified people right and they're at the bottom breaking all T and you get so angry you throw them off the mountain and break them I I I can't quite get that what kind of stone was this that broke so easily but

he broke literally smashed the Ten Commandments that God that God had written now go to chapter chapter 3 we're in chapter 32 that was verse 19 I apologize to the media I did need to do verse 15 maybe dyslexia will work for you like it does me go back verse 15 says and Moses turned and went down from the mountain and the two tablets of the testimony were in his hand the tablets were written on both sides on the one side and on the other they were written now the tablets were the work of God

and the writing was the writing of God engraved on the tablets so those tablets that he threw down and broke they were the what the work of God God did it the work of God and they were the writings of God they were not the writings of man and then of course I messed that up I went backwards there but you've got the big picture let's let's go forward one more time uh verse uh chapter 34 Exodus 34 Moses is having a big time encounter with God he wants to see God Glory God says you

can't see my glory and live to tell about it so I'm going to have to Veil I'm going to have to Veil my glory I'm going to have to put you in a cliff of a rock I'm going have to put you in the Rock aren't you glad you are in the Rock and you can see God pass by every day because of being in the Rock but he hides him in the Rock The Cliff of The Rock he passes by shows him his glory and look at chapter 34 verse 1 and the Lord God

said to Moses cut two tablets of stone like the first ones and I will write I will write I will write everybody see it on the screen cut two tablets of stone like the first ones and I will write I will write on these tablets the words that on the first tablets which you broke don't you love that I mean that that's God being authentic that's God kind of being real that's God saying okay we're going to start over and you're going to get me two stones and I'm gonna rewrite Israel at large didn't know

that the Ten Commandments they had in the ark was the second edition you broke the first ones I can't imagine Moses going back up that mountain with what excuse he had for breaking the Ten Commandments I mean you can't say the dog ate it amen that must have been hor horrifying to have to okay I lost my cool I got upset I got hot in my anger and it's like I just I threw them down and broke them and now God's saying all right go get two more and come back up here and listen I

will write on the two tablets you know the two that you broke just I'm sorry I just love that kind of stuff verse 28 go all the way down to verse 28 for the sake of time skip 14 verse 28 says so he was there with the Lord 40 days and 40 nights he neither ate bread nor drank water and he that's God wrote on the tablets the words of the Covenant the 10 Commandments now if you're paying attention I know there's no way you can miss the Simplicity of God wrote it God wrote it

God wrote it he wrote it with his finger he wrote it one time on stones and gave it to Moses Moses breaks it goes and gets two more stones and God writes it again on those tablets why why is that so important brothers and sisters why do we have to understand two different why can't he just write it on one tablet why twoo why both sides go to the New Covenant and let's see see what Paul said in Hebrews here and I believe Paul wrote it if you don't it's okay you'll figure it out eventually

I guarantee it was Paul that wrote Hebrews uh it's his style it's deep like he's deep uh and I'm not going to argue about that I shouldn't have said that I just should have said go to Hebrews chapter 8 and the writer of the book of Hebrews that's how you dodge all that conflict that's what I should have done but Paul wrote [Applause] in Hebrews chapter 8 the terms the terms of the New Covenant and there are many of them and it would behoove us it would benefit us greatly if we had time to go

over our terms what is the new agreement what is the New Covenant what is the new contract what is the new will and testament every every member of the body of Christ must understand there was an old contract an old Covenant specifically with Israel and there were terms amen there were agreements if you do this this this and this you get blessed if you do that and that you get cursed there were terms it was like a contract with a nation that God made well that Covenant has faded away we're not under old Covenant contract

we need the old Covenant we receive from the old Covenant took I just took you to the old Covenant the original Covenant of Ten Commandments and while I'm not under all the rituals the feast the regulations the sacrifices I gain wisdom out of the old contract God made with Israel but I also know I got me a new contract Hallelujah I've got me a new covenant I've got a new will in Testament and this will and testament is like no other will and testament you're the inheritor of a inheritance and to get your inheritance somebody

has to die and Jesus left us a will filled with promises unconditional promises and he not only died to seal the deal he rose from the grave to make sure the devil doesn't steal me from my new my new inheritance what a deal only guy ever died left a will that came back from the dead to execute the will I'm blessed and so he makes a New Covenant I'll read both I'll read both passages and there's terms within the New Covenant and we don't have time to go over all the terms in this setting but

we're going to bring out one term of our New Covenant okay everybody ready Hebrews chapter 8:10 for this is the Covenant New Covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days sayeth the Lord notice the Covenant was made with the house of Israel man I hate to end with something controversial and don't get upset at me for this just let it go but we really do have dyslexia we talk about the Jew converting to Christianity and coming over to our side no we're the ones that got engrafted in that'll hit a

few of you later I got engrafted in to the vine amen and the original Covenant was made with the Jew first house of Israel then it came to us amen this is the Covenant I'll make with the house of Israel after those days sayith the Lord I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts and I will be their God and they shall be be my people that same God that walked on Mount Si that same God that when he walked that things Shook and Quake that same God when he

spoke it sounded like thunder and was smoking because our God is a consuming fire that same God that took his finger in that old Covenant and wrote The Big 10 that God that same God is on the inside of us and with his finger within he's writing his laws on the the tablets of our heart why were there two tablets because your brain is split in half you have two hemispheres in your brain you have a left hemisphere and a right Hemisphere and the science is still out science will keep will catch up eventually with

the Bible science always eventually catches up with the Bible and while we do not understand the human brain there are some things we understand because of science is that the brain is cut into two hemispheres and there are certain things in one hemisphere that happen that don't happen in the other Hemisphere and in this hemisphere there are things happening that don't happen in the in the left hemisphere and then there's interaction and things that happen in both hemispheres as we talk as we walk as we process as we hug do you realize when you hug

somebody there's things that that that happen in your brain chemicals are released in your brain right y'all didn't know that science says the average woman needs seven to eight hugs a day I'm married she needs 25 don't laugh at me I need 35 there's stuff that happens in your brain the left hemisphere or one hemisphere of your brain is where your thoughts reside your reasoning faculties your opinions your philosophies then in the other hemisphere of your brain is your feelings your emotions it's where offenses or offenses take place and reside in a hemisphere of your

brain and God says I'm going to move on the inside of you and here's what I'm going to do I'm going to write my laws on your mind and I'm going to write them on your hearts some of you are just going to be messed up in your thinking welcome to church culture but I'm I'm from the inside going to fry your brain I'm going to roast your peanut I'm going to illuminate you in your thoughts your philosophies you thought this way and the world had programmed you in that hemisphere spere of your brain but

from your spirit from your spirit where I live I'm going to take my finger and I'm going to change your thinking I'm going to change your philosophies I'm going to change your attitude anybody had one of those lately nobody man I'm tired of being the most carnal Among Us anybody had your feelings hurt your emotions are out of whack life is either either delivered a blow itself or an individual has hurt you deeply did you know that's in your heart and did you know Jesus is still the Healer of a broken heart if you'll learn

to meditate if you'll learn to to commune with your heart in the secret place with God he'll heal all your hurts and you'll be made whole from within you won't have to spend all your money on counseling you can tithe amen orom me that didn't man nothing's flying I guess it's the last week man I have I have I have uh made too many withdrawals out of my love bank I don't feel the love right now oh no no that's welfare I don't want it my brain is two tablets and and God is saying bring

me two tablets and if you'll bring me your two tablets if you give me your whole heart if you give you give me your mind your will am I the only one that has sensed God pulling me a certain way and I don't want to do it no okay you know I I I wish I was more spiritual I wish the second I hear God uh go to Africa and preach the gospel Hallelujah I'm on my way Praise You Jesus no my first thought is I'm not going to Africa I'm not going to eat tree

bark and bugs but you know if I bring my tablet both my tablets my feelings about it my thoughts about it with the Finger of God within God will and suddenly I can't wait to get to Africa right amen amen this how works this is this is called real this why this why you don't hear stuff like this even at church because this is called being real that if you don't learn to take your two tablets up the mountain and let God write on these tablets you're not going to see the transformation that you you

you know right there in the Bible it says it'll happen why isn't it happening because we're trying to renew our minds we're trying to get over offenses or offenses we're trying to get over uh hurts we're trying to do it still after the flesh instead of just communing with God on your bed I I have gotten smashed and crushed and hurt and broken where all I could do was lay on my bed and cry and fellowship with God in it the Lord I'm being real with you I'm not going to play this fakey Faith stuff

I'm hurting I know I shouldn't be I know I should be bigger I'm H I'm heading up the mountain Hallelujah and here's the tablets of my heart I'm broken I'm bruised I'm hurting and just stay before the Lord and I'm telling you when you set your mind on things above when you hand him those tablets of your heart he'll write something on there that will heal you change you renew you shoot you out like a cannon and do his will for your life Hallelujah I'm about to dance I'm preaching myself happy I'm so sorry you

have to witness this because I'm telling you that fires me up it releases me from all this bondage of even having to renew my mind and getting in the flesh trying to reew my mind I'm just going to set my mind on things above and I'm telling you God is going to touch my heart from within with his finger and I'm telling you that finger can heal any wound that finger can change any philosophy that finger can change you from within on your mind and on your hearts and and your life get transformed before God

and everybody else I'm heading for the secret place I'm going to spend some time in the secret place and God will meet me in the secret place with his finger he made a covenant with me I will write my laws my word my promises on your mind and your hearts go to Hebrews 10 and then we'll we'll start to close Hebrews chapter 10 just two chapters down the writer of the book of Hebrews Paul I shouldn't do that people really do get upset at that stuff father bless them verse 16 here it is again watch

it this is the Covenant I will make with them after those days sayeth the Lord I will put my my laws into their hearts and in their minds I will write them I'm telling you when God writes his law on your heart When God says and you hear it and the Finger of God says do unto them as you would have them do unto you you get strong and courageous you get over your hurt you get over your disappointment how you've been treated and you start treating people the way you want to be treated I

asked the Lord one time you know how big is our hearts have to be to for you to write all your laws on the tablets of my I got two tablets I got I got half a brain over here and and people don't know it but when a male when a a male baby is born just before a male baby is born the mother provides testosterone to the male baby the male person the male human being she provides testosterone and literally they have documented that there's this bridge between the left hemisphere of the brain and

the right hemisphere of the brain the bridge gets broke in a male it's a scientific fact ladies you need to be merciful to us we're brain dead we're defected I mean Sil be dealing with me over something and I'll say I'm sorry I was just brain dead it happened at Birth I got two tablets going on here and I'm bringing them to God verse 16 this is the Covenant I will make with them after those days sayith the Lord I will put my laws into their hearts and in their minds I will write them the

same God on siani is the same God that's on the inside of you and me now and just like he wrote those laws again back to my original story there God how big does my heart have to be and there's you know there's 613 of these Commandments and laws and there's and at least for me the Lord says every situation I face the Finger of God says love God love your neighbor as yourself love God love people and serve them both all you need from the Finger of God is love God are you really loving

God with all your heart all your mind all your strength and all that is within you are you really in your neighbor as yourself and are you serving both every situation I'm in I can feel the Finger of God here's how you love me in that situation I'm I'm writing it on your heart but then I'm going to talk to you on how to walk it out this is my work love God love people and serve both and these are my writings on how to do that how to walk that situation out one more scripture

because I had a guy I I would be remissed not to at least read it 1 Timothy chapter 4 I had a guy bless people's hearts I was teaching on meditation I thought I was doing a good job evidently you know you don't do as good as you think sometimes and usually you're not as bad as you think I've gotten closer to that than as good but I'm preaching along there and this guy comes down he's been in church most of his life and he says well that meditation stuff is an old Covenant principle that's

just the old Covenant and that was before people got born again and that's that's not necessarily A A New Covenant principle or a New Covenant practice man we're just amazing look at this Paul is giving instructions to Timothy on how he should carry himself how to how to be a testimony in word example conduct love spirit Faith Purity give attention to the word of God don't neglect the gift that's been given unto you just basic things for him personally here's some things especially as a pastor watch how you talk watch watch your conduct make sure

you're you're pure and stay pure and quick to repent when you've done something impure all these simple instructions and then in verse 15 he said meditate on these things meditate on it now this is powerful always remember as you as you go from a convert to a disciple as you mature from immature to mature you'll discover that if you'll just stick with the scriptures the scriptures will Define themselves they'll explain themselves you just need to stick with it this is great he said meditate on these things look at this give yourself entirely to them give

yourself entirely to them see meditation is giving yourself entirely over to what God is saying to you Christian meditation is me bringing my two tablets of my soul my mind and my heart and giving myself wholly over to God where he can do something inside and from the inside meditate on these things give yourself entirely to them that your progress may be evident to all that sounds like Joshua 1 18 and that sounds like Psalms chapter 1 veres 1 through3 Timothy if you'll meditate on these things if you'll give yourself holy over to them how

do you do that in meditating you're giving yourself holy over to what God is saying to you your your progress will be evident to all you'll Prosper you'll Prosper I love this one take heed to yourself elves or in this case to him personally take heed to yourself and the doctrine take heed to yourself you know I can help so many people if they would just listen to one simple thing you want to simplify your life you want to you want to make things easy and fun in God and and and prosperous in God take

heed to yourself quit trying to take heed to everybody else else well I I don't believe they did that well I don't either what were they thinking I don't know what are you thinking well if I was them I wouldn't have done that that's dumb you're not them and you have no idea if you were them what you would have done I remember a a lady at a meeting uh when when Jimmy Swagger fell and she was falling apart she's about to renounce her faith and I'm having to Rin her heart in and get her

focused and what does what does a preacher failing and falling got to do with my walk with the Lord amen amen and she just couldn't get over how could he do such a dumb thing and I would get her I'd start to rain her soul in and then she would jump jump ship again I just don't understand how somebody preaching the gospel how somebody that's such a a hero of the faith how they could fall I just don't understand how they could do that and I I get weak sometimes I like to just stay focused

keep you focused and move on but if you keep bugging me I'm all to say something you don't want to hear and she just kept insisting how could he do that and and and finally I said you don't want the answer yes I do no you don't want the answer to that I promise you it's like people who go through a crisis and a tragedy many times they're asking for an answer and I'm not sure they want the answer that's right amen I've tried to give people the answer for certain things and why certain things

happen and they don't like it at all and so I said 'you don't want it you really don't want the answer and she said I wouldn't ask you if I didn't want the answer she just got belligerent and I wasn't in a spiritual mood and so I said are you sure you want the answer and she said yes and I said he done the dumb the dumb thing he done the same way you do the dumb things you do let's go I told you you didn't want the answer how and why do we do the

dumb things we do maybe we need to take heed to ourselves maybe we need to just keep working on getting the telephone pole out of our eye before we try to get a toothpick out of somebody else's eye maybe we just need to meditate day and maybe we need to commune with our own heart amen and meet God in the secret place where he can tell us why am I confused about this and let God tell you and he'll probably tell you take heed to yourself he'll probably tell you guard your heart you can't guard

anybody else's heart but you can guard your heart amen because out of your heart are going to come the issues of your life take heed to yourselves verse 16 and the doctrine continue in them continue in them how do we continue in the things God's speaking to us Christian meditation and that's why many people go to church their whole life they'll hear something it'll stir them the anointing in me will stir you one way or the other everywhere Jesus went either a Revival broke out or a riot the anointing stirs it stirs you toward God

or it will stir you away from God I'm trying to quit I'm I'm not sure this is coming out right how do I continue in what God is saying to me today when I leave here I guarantee there's some things in my heart that I'm hearing for me and I'm going to continue in them how do I continue in them I Ponder them I imagine them I imagine the work God's trying to see God's trying to do a work on the inside of you and a writing of your story of his will for your life

it's only going to come through meditating you're not going to get there's there's some things that happen by a drive by shooting today's like a driveby shooting I'm sure I hit a few people and it's like bam that connected and Bam that connected and Bam this connected but what's going to change your life is continuing in it day and night through Christian meditation amen thank you [Applause] Jesus father I thank you for your work in our hearts you're showing us the new creation and who we are in Christ the work the finished work of Jesus

that everything we are we are in Christ and you're renewing our minds to it you're writing on our minds you're writing on our Hearts the work of the cross the work of the Resurrection the work of the New Life of Christ and then you're writing our story you're writing your will on the tablets of our heart you're changing our minds you're changing our feelings daily as we bring you our two tablets thank you Jesus for writing on my mind and my heart your plan for my life in your name I pray amen and amen [Music]
