[Music] [Music] hello everybody come on in welcome to the classroom it's so nice to see you it is a very special time here in canada it is thanksgiving hooray during thanksgiving we celebrate all the things that we are so thankful for and usually people do that by getting together and having a big meal traditionally there's turkey and stuffing and mashed potatoes and squash and gravy and pumpkin pies but really you can have anything that you like to eat melanie amy aaron and kyla from mexico they really like to have pizza at big family dinners adavi

from saudi arabia says rice is their favorite rukia says mac and cheese lachlan really likes spaghetti there's so many delicious things to eat so today in the classroom we will be celebrating all the things that we're thankful for and some yummy foods too i can't wait we'll be making this turkey craft as well gobble gobble gobble gobble but first let's give a big hello to all of our friends watching we'll put the turkey back there there he goes we can wave our hands and sing a big hello to all of our friends let me know

and phillip from germany my name is katie what's your name i see alexis and odin and roxy and her daddy nice to meet you let's be friends a big hello and happy thanksgiving to all of our friends watching a very special happy first birthday to aspen happy birthday aspen i know i am so thankful for all of you all our friends who come into the classroom to play and explore and sing with all of us it's really nice now some people say that canadian thanksgiving started as a celebration of the harvest the harvest is when

we take all of the food that we grew over the hot summer and we put it away so we have food to eat during the cold winter let's do a little harvest of our own on this farm take a look we have a barn some corns already growing some pigs and look a big patch here for our garden vet for our vegetable garden i have some tools here that we can use to help grow our vegetable garden a little shovel a little watering can they're so cute and tiny and a wheelbarrow that'll help us later

too what are some things that we need to do to help our vegetable patch grow can you think of some ideas let's try we're going to use our little shovel to dig some holes one two three there they are one two three holes for our seeds one two three there's some more we got lots of room for vegetables dig some holes there they are one two three okay our vegetable patch is ready for our seeds now i have all sorts of little vegetable seeds here that we can put in our vegetable patch here and lily

says we have to give the plants water that's a great idea so let's water these plants with our watering can there we go they'll grow big and strong so we'll have lots of food for the winter how about some more water over here too eleanor says veggies need sunshine too that's right that's why they grow best in the summertime when there's lots of hot sunshine not so great in the winter [Music] that's why we do all this gardening now so we're ready for the winter time there we go lots of water lots of sunshine and

then they'll be ready to pick during harvest time let's see what we grew everybody we'll get our wheelbarrow here let's pick it pick look at that do you know what vegetable this is let's see here's a big one one from a real garden do you know what vegetable this is it's a carrot jaden says jaden loves carrots they're really crunchy and delicious let's pick all the carrots for our harvest put them inside the wheelbarrow yummy yummy pick the wheelbarrow go over here put them away for the winter yeah those are gonna be really yummy during

the winter time let's see what else hmm what vegetable is this one it looks like this from a real garden do you know what vegetable this is this is called a beet it's delicious it's really red ethan loves his veggies if you love your veggies beets are a delicious veggie to have let's pick all the beets from our garden pick there we go our wheelbarrow is full of beets here we go take them away over to store them for the winter we got some more vegetables to pick how about these ones pick you know what

this is let's take a look at a real one look at that this is called a parsnip it's really delicious too you can put it in stews and yummy things let's pick all of those parsnips and put them in our wheelbarrow got one two three parsnips here we go little wheelbarrow takes away sasha and abner love beets those are so yummy one more vegetable patch to pick let's pick it and see what it is hmm what could that be let's take a look i got one from a real garden look at that do you know

what this is [Music] it's a cauliflower cauliflowers are delicious i love them let's pick all of our cauliflowers and put them in the wheelbarrow one two three cauliflowers perfect let's take it away it is such a cute farm izzy says that parsnips look like white carrots yeah they're both root vegetables they look a little bit alike well we did it everybody we got all the vegetables for our harvest hooray we'll have enough food for the winter let's take a little bit of a break from all this harvesting work it's really tough by singing a song

together one of my favorite things about thanksgiving is getting together with all my friends and family so let's sing the more we get together and we can do it all together yeah sing with me everybody it goes like this the more we get together together together the more we get together the happier we'll be cause your friends are my friends and my friends are your friends the more we get together the happier we'll be that's how it goes you can join in with me the more we get together together together the more we get together

it there's red green yellow orange and purple and look at all these fruits and vegetables that we have lots of fruits and vegetables to store all different colors what fruits and vegetables do you see here and what colors here we go we'll put them all inside the right baskets will you help me yeah okay let's see here how about this one a pumpkin that's orange so we'll put it in the orange basket where is it right here all right what else a banana that's yellow so the yellow basket right here moon says grapes yeah we

have some grapes here two different colors purple and red so i have to put the purple grapes in the purple basket and the red grapes in the red basket nice job moon oh ariana saw the yellow banana edison says there's a yellow tomato i mean a red tomato it's red everybody tomatoes are red a red tomato should go in the red basket right there very good how about a purple onion in the purple basket hmm oh and we have the orange yeah now where should the orange go in the orange basket of course forest says

sees a carrot a carrot's orange too let's put that in the orange one how about the cucumber that goes in the green basket there we go oh and look at this all different colored peppers there's a yellow pepper an orange pepper and a green pepper we'll have to put them in the right baskets where's the yellow one here it is the green one where is it here we go and the orange pepper do you see the orange basket there it is nice job let's see eleanor sees the green broccoli in the green bin and what

about the yellow corn yeah that'll go in the yellow basket corn is one of my favorite things to eat this time of year and what about this three different colored apples there's red green and yellow we'll put them in the right bins green red and yellow penelope says the corn is green and yellow you're right i'm going to put it in the yellow bin because once we pull peel that off it's all yellow do you know what one this is this is an eggplant that's purple put it in the purple one cora and isla see

the green lime that goes in the green bin and this looks just like the lime but it's yellow it's a lemon they make a sour they're sour they make make a face like this sour put that in the yellow bin ooh a yummy strawberry that's red in the redmond look at these two different kinds of fruits a raspberry is red in the red bin and roxy sees the blackberries the blackberries are a very dark purple so put them in a purple bin we have two more fruits this one's a plum and a peach for us

sees the peach we'll put the plum in the purple bin and the peach what color is that orange where's the orange bin right here we did it we put all the fruits and vegetables in the right bins we have enough food to eat for the winter thank you so much for helping me sort and store all that food that was really important to do now we can celebrate with our big feast let's celebrate together in the classroom with a big song let's sing if you're happy yeah let's go you can let me know things that

you know it and we really want to show it we love thanksgiving and we know it be a turkey gobble gobble nice job give yourselves a big clap all right it's so nice to hear all of these things that make you happy all the things that we're so thankful for rico says eating ice cream that's a nice thing to be thankful for there's so many things that we can be thankful for things like a place to live and songs to sing and good food to eat and sometimes we don't even think about being thankful for

these things because we're so used to having them but it's really important to remind ourselves how lucky we are so i made a little game that we can play together called thanksgiving bingo hooray and on our thanksgiving bingo game sheet are all these pictures of different things that we are thankful for things like flowers yeah and clean water now maybe you already have this bingo sheet printed out and you're ready to play along with me i know our friend rocky in mexico he's got his bingo sheet he's ready to play but if you're not there

if you don't have it yet you can print it out later we have a link in the description below and then you can play anytime you like and we can play all together right now we are going to press the button to see a picture in the window and then we're gonna find that picture on our bingo sheet and put a token on it and when we have four in a row then we win so let's see what picture will be first ethan's ready for bingo too here we go let's see what picture it'll be

look friends yeah that's something i'm so thankful for here too let's find the friends picture on our bingo sheet do you see it [Music] there it is we'll take one of our tokens and you can use a token or a marker anything you got put it there hooray let's see what's next print it out edison and eleanor have their sheet ready and abigail play along look at that ice cream that's what one of our friends really likes too let's find the ice cream on our bingo sheet there it is with a cherry on top we'll

put one of the markers on ice cream there we go okay we got two let's keep playing these oh yeah i'm so thankful for bees we learned all about them in the classroom let's find b's here on our bingo sheet do you see it where could it be aha where could the b be here it is let's put a token on the b hooray oh and we're on our way to a straight line down here i wonder if that's where it'll be let's see lots of our friends are thankful for rainbows home the place that

we call home yeah we're so lucky to have that and here it is on our bingo sheet did you find it there it is let's put the token on home okay let's see what comes next push the button let's be really thankful for those bees love a heart for all the love that we share let's find the heart on our bingo sheet can you find it on yours hmm oh here it is love nice oh and look we're only one away from four in a row we're so close let's keep going i'm so glad you're

oh i know another thing i'm really thankful for dessert dessert is so yummy especially at thanksgiving there's usually pumpkin pies and all sorts of fruit mmm it's really yummy the bumble numbs are really good at making dessert once they made a ballooning blueberry cobbler how good does that sound it'd be so delicious after thanksgiving dinner let's take a look in the bumble numbs kitchen and see how they made their ballooning blueberry cobbler let's go [Music] the bumble numbs today the bumble numbs are going to make ballooning blueberry cobbler but what's the secret ingredient ten ballooning

blueberries the bumble numbs are waiting for the ballooning blueberries to go balloony then they can make their favorite ballooning blueberry cobbler right stumble and grumble yum bright humble look bumble numbs the ballooning blueberries are ballooning up you know what that means don't you the ballooning blueberries are ready for your ballooning blueberry cobbler now remember bumble numbs we need ten ballooning blueberries go get them [Applause] [Music] two [Music] stumble nice try three and four nice job humble [Music] wow grumble you're great at this you only need three more ballooning blueberries eight and nine yum yum yum

ideas for showing good table manners hmm let me know some ideas for good table manners that you have and we can practice them together what do you think want to try it yeah okay and i have a blog post up on our blog that i wrote all about learning table manners growing up i'm pretty much a table manners expert now thanks to my dad let's think about some table manners oh i know one how about coming to the table with our hands clean that's important washing our hands let's pretend to wash our hands together here

we go wash wash wash wash wash wash remember last week we learned all about cleaning up and washing our hands for 20 seconds to make them nice and clean there we go nice and clean what else i know using a napkin that's important too can we pretend to wipe our face with a napkin here we go go wipe up all those crumbs and any spills here we go nice roxy says a good table manner is to sit and not play that's true during dinner we want to sit down and eat all our delicious dinner let's

pretend to eat by sitting [Music] good idea roxy cammy says saying please and thank you that's a great idea please pass the ketchup thank you for this delicious meal that's a really great idea abigail says chew with your mouth closed let's practice that one sometimes that can be a tough one here we go let's take a big bite of food mm-hmm [Music] really great idea ethan says never put your feet on the table that's a good one melanie says no toys at the table that's right the table is time to eat all our food and

toys are for later alexander says eat slowly that's a really good idea try eating slow not too fast kyra rose says putting dishes in the sink when you're done yeah helping to clean up after dinner is a really nice thing to do you can also help before dinner you can set the table and then clean up after i really like to help decorate the table at thanksgiving oh you can decorate the table with look this turkey craft gobble gobble gobble gobble gobble gobble that would be a really beautiful addition to a thanksgiving table don't you

think couple couple couple i'll show you how i made this turkey everybody okay we need a couple things some construction paper i have brown yellow and orange and two of each now i cut them so they're sort of layered the brown is the longest then the yellow then the orange that's because it's going to be our feathers like this so once you have your pieces of paper cut two of each we're going to fold them back and forth like an accordion like this gonna fold once then turn it around and fold back the other way

i really like folding things like an accordion i used to do it a lot spare pieces of paper there's a really fun thing to do it makes it all springy [Music] here we go when you're doing this you can fold two pieces of paper at once but it might be a little tricky so this would be maybe a good time to ask a grown-up for help because folding can get tiring here we go fold all the way and look then it's like an accordion [Music] you want to fold all the different pieces of paper and

then it'll look like this [Music] then you'll want to glue them together i already glued together the yellow and the brown so i have two really big accordions and i still have to glue this one so i'll put a little bit of glue on just the end of our orange sheet of paper here [Music] there we go [Music] and glue it on to the other side we'll take the two smaller accordions and make a really big accordion for our turkey feathers push it in make sure it stays okay now we'll gather up the whole long

accordion like this and we're going to make our turkey feathers they're going to slowly open up and we're going to use some tape i got some tape here i'm going to get my tape ready it can be a little tricky here we go fold it all up [Music] and look it opens up like big turkey feathers here we go so pretty so nice and you can decorate your turkey feathers too you can take them and use some different colored daughters or markers dot them to make some pretty um patterns on your turkey feathers you can

decorate them any way you like look at that you want to do the same thing with all of your accordions make them a big fan like this once they're all decorated and folded together you'll have three big turkey feathers look at that now for our turkey feathers to go on the turkey body we're going to use this this is a lid of a jar and i put some double-sided tape on it and that's gonna stick on our feathers so i'm just gonna peel the top part of the double-sided tape and we'll get ready to put

our turkey feathers on so this will be the front of our turkey here and we're gonna line up the turkey feathers and paste it onto the jar there we go so start with the smallest or orange [Music] then the yellow that's our second biggest and then the big one the big brown one that'll go on the bottom here stick it on there we got our beautiful turkey feathers look at that but we need a turkey head of course okay for our turkey head i already cut out all the parts we need put this over there

no don't fall over let's stick it down really nice there we go okay so i cut out already i'm gonna put this over here just so it can dry sometimes it needs a little extra time so i cut out a circle that's going to be our turkey body and then cut the bottom part of the circle off so there's a flat line then for the turkey head it looks like a turkey drumstick doesn't it that's going to go on top here so we'll glue it together get a little bit of glue on the back of

the turkey's head stick it on and then i cut out two other pieces we have the wattle that's what this is called that's the red part underneath the turkey's beak and his peak we'll put some glue on one side of our red piece of paper and to cut this i just folded it in half and did a little heart shape if you want to try this at home we have a link in the description below to take you to our blog where there's step-by-step instructions with photos and some more details so you can take a

look there too oh our turkey's looking pretty good is our turkey missing anything [Music] some eyes of course i got some googly eyes for our turkey one two let's add these eyes on our turkey here we go one two he's looking good what a silly turkey [Music] here we go okay awesome our turkey's gonna look amazing once we put it on all the feathers so we'll add our turkey onto the lid like that with just a little bit of double-sided tape got our double-sided tape here and our turkey is going to be perfect for the

dining room table [Music] let's see we'll put right here just peel off the back and if you don't have double sided tape you can use some good glue or some make those little loops with the tape and we're gonna add our turkey right there on our jar there we go our turkey's looking down let's give him a little bit of tape so he stays back keep your head up turkey it's another good table manner to have sit up at the table check it out we made our turkey gumball gobble gobble gobble gobble gobble you can
