[Music] was established way back in 2010. there's about 700 individuals from different families who have come together to set this land aside for tourism and Wildlife and there was a number of reasons why in a bishop conservasive was set up and one being that the land then back was subdivided and it just means that the lands will be privatized and once that happened we lose a lot of habitat for the wild animals the best way to retain the habitats is to have this setup because of the fact that this land has been set aside for
wildlife and tourism in the last 10 years we've seen an increase in the number of different species of animal which include you know playing and Club in particularly also the alliance we've seen quite a big increase in the number of lands in the bishop conservation we feel like we have one of the highest number of lands in the whole matter so the idea of also setting up gracing zones within Services is so that we can also have the massive people benefit from conservation and tourism and Wildlife and at the same time be able to live
in the traditional life of you know keeping animals like cows sheep and goats and within the Conservancy we have gracing songs and we have Wildlife core areas what we call the wildlife coerias is areas that we think there is high density of cuts particularly and and for them to not be disturbed by human movement we have set aside various aside just for wildlife and areas that are considered to be increasing zones are areas that we didn't we think there is less animals especially cats and that's where the people are allowed to bring their cows for
grass and water one of the idea behind it to try and sort of reduce human Wildlife conflict basilia is one of the best two operators in Kenya in terms of how they impact the environment and how they look after the environment and also in terms of how they work hard to try and make sure that the local communities are also positively impacted by what they do here they do support a lot of a lot of projects within the community which include water projects schools health facilities and also partnering with other groups to empower women in
terms of bit work we have this to have this conservances because what that means is that the land will be set aside for tourism and Wildlife is opposed to not having conservation which means people will live on the same land and that means animals will start to lose habitats foreign
