Herta is THE Genius (Honkai Star Rail Lore Analysis)

Hera's proper introduction was rather lowkey for a character so important to the lore of this game it doesn't hit you at first since newer players are naturally learning the Bare Basics of this universe's terminology but she's a really big deal not only is she the owner of the space station where the game begins and one of the co-founders of the simulated Universe she's also the first emanator were made aware of all the way back in the prologue silverwolf mentions the genius's status when she and Kafka looked and an image of her all this to say

Hera is much more important than the game initially may lead you to believe now that we've gotten to meet the Herta in 3.0 there's no better time to finally dig into her lore in characterization Hera's home planet is the blue an oceanic planet that her space station orbits around she's documented in her character details to be the human with the highest IQ to come from there her being from an oceanic Planet actually plays into her name Herta derives from the ancient Germanic name nerus which has connection to the Norse god of the sea Nord in

the quest lingering Shadows Hera says she built the Space Station to keep the blue safe from dangerous threats like the antimatter Legion and the stellon although in her second character story she tells an interviewer that she built a station because quote I have so much stuff and nowhere to put it this line highlights what's arguably her most prominent character trait how she couldn't care less about everything and everyone even the form we've known known her by for nearly 2 years as an indicator of this she can't be bothered to go talk to someone in person

instead she uses a total of 281 remote controlled puppets around the space station to communicate with people there that isn't to mention the puppets at her Clock Tower who are at her beck and call like maides doing all the menial tasks she doesn't want to do all these puppets are according to her 70% similar to how she looked as a child as for her current appearance one of the key features listed in her drip marketing was how she appears youth full this is because as explained when you examine her portrait in her office she developed

a means to reverse one's age and used it on herself thus her appearance doesn't reflect her chronological age am I disappointed we didn't get actual Gil Hera n maybe a little but we did get the witch at tire so that's a fair enough trade-off and she has a keyblade oh hell yeah they were cooking even with the puppets at her disposal it's made apparent this witch doesn't regularly check in on the space station to once again reference the quest where we first meet Herta she says she had been gone from the station for a few

months the second Herta loses interest in a project she drops it and moves on to the next with the space station being one of them the LW of the space ceiling station Relic set reads as follows however once the space station moved into orbit it started to operate on its own and Madam Hera rarely showed herself it was then that the IPC realized the whole station was filled with the mundane daily activities of the researchers yet the genius was nowhere to be seen scene as someone with ADHD I cannot tell you how much it relate

to her us tendency to just abandon projects in a whim the amount of half finished video scripts and book manuscripts I have lying around is astounding as seen in her fourth character story she can't get through a whole interview without getting bored and sending the puppet to Auto Answer mode in aa's fourth story she remembers asking Hera why she didn't come to the station more frequently Hera's response was Curt if there's no interesting new stuff I won't bother coming in she's one of the few members of The Genius Society who shares her findings with the

general public but her first character story Paints the picture that she only does so when she discards her research papers leaving other people to dig deeper into her previous research topics while she focuses on the next one Hera cares more about being efficient with her time and energy than the feelings of her followers and fellow Geniuses her overly logical nature and lack of sympathy is actually something Dr Rao compliments in his voice line about her Hera is a quintessential genius a natural wonder who sees no one as her equal I have no doubt she is

talented but I doubt whether her Talent is always helpful to others it's clear noos must have thought similarly as she's one of three emanator of Edition we are aware of at the moment it's already seen as a privilege in hsr's Universe to be invited to join the genius Society so it's another thing entirely for newos to acknowledge you as an emanator speaking of which the direct meaning of nerus the Germanic goddess who Hera derives her name from means the powerful one associating this name with Herta drills in her status as emanator so what makes Hera

so special from other GS members that she'd get to be an emanator I believe that most of all it was heard as a means of pursuing knowledge that caught the eon's eye the four star light cone the birth of the self gives insight into how Herta views herself as everchanging she gets upset over how two portraits of her pup itself had the exact same pose feeling it was not an accurate reflection of herself she tweaked its joints opened its eyes and made the fingers softer she looked happy when all the changes were done completely different

from yesterday this is more like who I am today to her to her pursuit of knowledge results in her not being the same person today that she was yesterday that's why she's so quick to drop projects once they're complete or the subject is in her hands there's not much left to learn at that point for her a day not spent enlightening herself is a day wasted Solutions are boring but they bring new questions such as what is my limit Hera's constant drive to learn must be the very trade noos took notice of when recognizing her

as an emanator of their path after all this ambition to keep searching for answers as son she seems to have in common with the Eon her first devlog on newos mentions how despite likely possessing information on the entire universe newos remains unsatisfied and then in the Hera's fourth character story we get this line from her that's because droidad would never answer questions and doubts are the essence of thought there is nothing that is forbidden nothing serves as a boundary and nothing is regarded as its end unless they quit there's no true end to learning about

the universe whether it's the HSR Cosmos or our own the Journey of Discovery and learning only ends when the person chooses to stop at every step of the metaphorical Road you have two choices do you stop where you are satisfied with the knowledge you have now or do you keep venturing forth to continue learning I believe at this point I've made it clear which one Herta would always pick without hesitation now I know I've made it seem like Hera is a total jerk with zero compassion but it's not like she outright despises people she is

one of the co-founders of the simulated Universe if her dialogue at the start of the space station continuance Quest is anything to go by the portraits of Society members that appear in her office are once she elected to project visually indicating a level of respect for fellow Geniuses like scrum plus she is willing to work with other members if needed with projects like the simulated universe as she was the one to suggest they find a fifth person to join she even admits in one of her voice lines to admire Ruan May which shows she is

capable of recognizing people for their own efforts plus there's her connection to austa and Arlin we see in aa's third character story that Hera personally selected AA to be the lead researcher of the space station fre the girl from the pressure of her family she has a level of trust in AA as evident by her voice line about the redhead if my other collections had people like ASA watching over them I could take a hands off approach ASA is an outstanding manager someone less skilled would have already let us Geniuses ruin more than 10 space

stations Hera is unsympathetic but she isn't reckless she's aware her collections of curios are super dangerous and need to be handled carefully she saw an AA someone who could do just that and thus was adamant about her leading research on the station her uncaring nature is actually flipped to be beneficial to her in this instance Hera doesn't care what the people on the space station think of her and thus is focused purely on a person's skill set when she chooses to hire them she doesn't care if a person is one of her followers or even

likes her that much is made clear with arland's voice line as he says he wouldn't consider himself a follower of Hera but was still hired as head of security both atin and Arland display how Herta has an ey her Talent she may hold herself extremely highly but she can also discern when others are capable of great things as well don't confuse this with kindness she's still extremely egotistical and it's obvious she mainly hired ASA and by extension Arland solely to cover tasks she didn't feel like doing herself but also don't confuse her ego and lack

of kindness to mean she's anything close to evil we see this when she chooses to abandon her attempt to meet noos halfway through the experiment when Welton someday come to seek her Aid she's morally a good person but also very stoic and H strong honestly her overflowing self-esteem adds to her charm this genius lady legitimately can't be asked to care about whatever is going on in the cosmos unless she thinks it could be a fun New research topic I guess in that sense she does act like a senior citizen because if my time spent around

my elderly relatives has taught me anything once you get old enough you tend to just stop giving a about what other people think and what's going on in the modern day the third major trace of the Herta puts it perfectly to a fault she is a ly honest and she doesn't feel any need to prove how extraordinary she is she believes she's the greatest and that's all that matters to her she doesn't require validation from anyone else though as seen in silver Wolf's companion Mission her is willing to show off her greatness whenever someone challenges

her in Universe her sheer confidence can be unbearable for some as said by Ron May and we the audience could have had a similar feeling about her but the writers do a pretty good job of making her stick never tiring this prideful wi in purple has been the source of many good laughs and many Twirls I had to reference the meme somewhere and I look forward to seeing what role she'll play in the future both in the main story and in simulated Universe updates thank you for watching this video this is one part of a
