So right now, let's discover the characteristics and the performance of this electric scooter. During 2019, we have all come across a Xiaomi M365 at least once. This emblematic model of the Chinese brand has been one of the references on the market, for its design but especially for its value for money.
As announced previously in Energie Boost Show, the Xiaomi brand modernized its product range by offering three new finishes. For our test, we opted for the Intermediate finish whitch is the Xiaomi Mi Scooter 1S. You will find in the description below, the links to the Essential and Pro 2 finishes.
Upon opening your package, you will discover, your electric scooter, its charger with a European plug, a mounting kit consisting of four screws and an allen key. You will also find the instructions for use, certificates of authenticity, an air pump, a spare tire and an anti-theft system. Once your vehicle has been removed from its packaging, it will be necessary to deploy the steering column, and mounting the handlebars.
In five minutes, watch in hand, the assembly is complete. Your mount mounted you can appreciate its design. With a length of 3.

After finding the right riding position, we can enjoy the fun of riding this electric scooter. The fairly small deck may not be suitable for some users who like to drive with both feet, but once the marks are taken, it's quickly forgotten. On good condition or slightly damaged roads, the Mi 1S is very pleasant.
In the absence of a shock absorber system, it is necessary to rely on its new generation 8. 5-inch tires, to benefit from driving comfort. It must be admitted that on this type of road, the exercise is rather successful.
However, this e-scooter is insufficient for roads in poor condition. The wheelbase of 2. 7 ft offers a rather decent stability.
The TPR grip handles add a higher level of comfort for road driving in good condition. With this new control screen, you can use a central command to turn the lights on and off, simply by push the button. Three driving modes will be offered to you.
Switching from one mode to another is done by double press the central button. I suggest you change the driving mode at low speed or when stationary, because the position of the control means removing one hand from the handlebars. With a traction motor located at the front rear, 250 watts nominal and 500 watts maximum, the Xiaomi Mi Scooter 1S reaches 15 mph in 7 seconds.
It also makes it possible to cross slopes, going up to 14% inclination. The 275 Wh and 7. 6 Ah lithium battery gives you a theoretical range of 18.
6 miles, provided you drive at a maximum speed of 9. 3 mph, 165 lb weigh, drive on a level road, … In facts, despite the new energy regeneration system, you have to count on a range of 12 miles in the sports driving mode by managing your driving. Once the battery is flat, it will take you five and a half hours to charge your battery to 100%.
In terms of safety, the electric scooter is equipped with a brand-new LED lighting system at the front with a power of 2 watts with a range of around 10 yd. At the rear is a larger LED light and fitted with a flashing brake light. Not to mention the reflectors and the bell, the dual braking system provides a real asset in terms of safety.
With an initial speed of 15. 5 mph, we were able to measure a braking distance of about 8. 7 yd, with a 154lb individual.
Which is in my opinion a very good performance. With IP54 standards, this model is protected against limited dust infiltration and water splashes. On the manufacturer side, it's recommended not to use this model guring rain.
Overall, it's a rather practical, mobile scooter that meets the primary needs of getting around. It's perfectly suited for multimodal trips, thanks to its weight and dimensions. For regional or international travel by TGV, train or plane, we strongly recommend you opt for a travel bag.
The link will be available in the description. Through this test drive, we were able to see that the Chinese brand emphasizes user safety. Protection at the level of the folding system, limited steering angle, audible warning in case of excessive speed, non-slip deck, battery protection and so on.
Similarly, great efforts have been made in terms of comfort, even if use on damaged or cobbled roads remains highly unpleasant. In conclusion, we appreciated this e-scooter, its design, its mobility, the safety aspect and of course the value for money. With a recommended price of €449 on the brand's website, you can buy this model for less than €400 from certain retailers.

On the other hand, we less appreciated the position of the control button, the handles, and the level of comfort on damaged roads.
We would have preferred the presence of a shock absorber, for more comfort. Moreover, on this subject, the manufacturer also recommends reducing its speed to 6 mph on roads in poor condition, in order to optimize driving comfort. Finally, there are not so many things to reproach this model except for the miss of madness.
Don't forget, three finishes are available depending on your need for autonomy. The Essential, which is the brand's entry-level, offers a theoretical range of 12. 4 miles, for a maximum speed of 12.
4 mph and a recommended price of €299. The Pro 2, on the other hand, offers you a theoretical autonomy of 28 miles, for a maximum speed of 15. 5 mph and a recommended price of €499.
