3: 2-5 for people will be lovers of self narcissistic self-focused lovers of money impelled by greed boastful arrogant Rev viers disobedient to parents ungrateful Unholy and profane and they will be unloving devoid of natural human affection callous and inhumane irreconcilable malicious gossips devoid of self-control intemperate immoral brutal haters of good traitors Reckless conceited lovers of sensual pleasure rather than lovers of God holding to a form of outward godliness religion although they have denied its power for their conduct nullifies their claim of Faith avoid such people and keep far away from them oh how we are
living in perilous times the events transpiring in our world today reflect this reality with all the scandals happening in the church we see people who have a form of godliness but deny its power this hypocrisy undermines the trust and faith of many believers who are not looking unto Jesus do not put human men leaders pastors Mega Church pastors on a pedestal look unto Jesus and Jesus alone scandals involving misconduct abuse and moral failings are rampant leaving congregations disillusioned and betrayed this crisis of faith is compounded by the fact that many church leaders preach virtue yet
fail to embody it in their actions oh how we are living in perilous times in 2 Timothy 3: 2:5 the term translated as malicious gossips in the Amplified Bible version can also be understood as false accusers in other translations the Greek word used here is diabolo which can be translated as slanderers or false accusers this term is indicative of those who spread harmful and untrue statements about others one topic rarely addressed in sermons is false accusers the world is full of them people who send others to jail or even to their deaths for cing crimes
they did not commit these false accusations often stem from malice jealousy or personal vendettas causing Untold suffering and Injustice the consequences are dire as innocent lives are destroyed and families are torn apart I watched an episode of Dr Phil where a woman falsely accused a man of a crime he did not commit resulting in him spending 14 years in prison imagine that 14 years for a crime he did not commit heartbreaking this story is just one of many where individuals are wrongfully imprisoned due to false accusations the legal system meant to uphold Justice sometimes fails
leading to tragic consequences many of the wars we witness are driven by the political Elite who are lovers of money and have no regard for the sanctity of human life they fail to recognize that every person is created in the image of God Wars are profitable IND Industries and the pursuit of money fuels many of the conflicts in our world arms manufacturers and defense contractors stand to gain immensely from prolonged conflicts lobbying for policies that favor their interests this profit-driven approach to war overlooks the devastating human cost including loss of life displacement and long-term socioeconomic
consequences war is profitable we are in a state of emergency we are we are living in bizarre strange times in real perilous times with 104 days remaining until the 2024 presidential elections only the Lord knows what will happen in the world and in our nation during these critical 104 days leading up to the election these are bizarre times we are living in strange times on steroids the days we are living in are indeed turbulent times as we navigate these unprecedented days the call to action for believers has never never been more urgent in the face
of global uncertainty and widespread fear we must rise to our calling to preach the gospel sew the seeds of the good news and introduce people to Jesus Christ the world is scared and rightfully so they do not have the answers and they have no idea what the next 104 days hold for their lives or for their Nations people are so scared the fear is palpable people are scared of whether there will be an economic crash with memories of 2007 still fresh in their minds the prospect of financial ruin looms large making them anxious about their
jobs savings and future security the unpredictability of different weather patterns adds another layer of dread natural disasters seem more frequent and severe and this unpredictability shakes the very Foundation of their sense of safety the fear doesn't stop there the possibility of World War III is a chilling thought that keeps many awake at night with the ongoing conflicts and alliances forming among Global Powers the potential for a devastating war is a grim reality people are scared for their families for the safety and future of their children the thought of death hangs heavy over them a fear
magnified by The Daily News of violence and catastrophe in these perilous times we as believers have a profound responsibility the world is looking for answers searching for a Beacon of Hope amidst the chaos it is our duty to share the gospel message to remind them of Jesus and his promises for in Jesus the cares and concerns of this world shift dramatically when you are at peace with God you can stand in a world full of turmoil without being shaken by the turmoil itself Jesus said in John 14: 27 peace I leave with you my peace
I give you I do not give to you as the world gives do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid this peace is what the world desperately needs a peace that surpasses all understanding one that is not dependent on external circumstances but rooted in the eternal love and grace of God I pray that each and every one of you listening to me May abide in this that peace May overflow your life and your mind that this peace may follow wherever you go this peace will give you a clear mind to make
correct informed and Intelligent Decisions about the future of your family this peace of God May cover you in a way that it spreads to others people are scared of an economic crash they remember the devastation of 2007 the loss of homes jobs and financial stability the anxiety over a repeat of such a crisis looms large we must remind them that while Earthly Treasures are fleeting the treasures of Heaven are Eternal Matthew 6:1 19-21 tells us do not store up for yourselves Treasures on Earth where moths and Vermin destroy and where thieves break in and steal
but store up for yourselves Treasures in Heaven where moss and Vermin do not destroy and where thieves do not break in and steal for where your treasure is there your heart will be also the fear of the unknown of for is beyond their control grips their hearts yet we know that the creator of the universe holds all things in his hands Psalm 46: 1 to3 reassures us God is our refuge in strength and everpresent help in trouble therefore we will not fear though the Earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the
sea though its Waters Roar and foam and the mountains Quake with their surging the fear of World War I is real and present the potential for global conflict is a terrifying Prospect and many are scared for the future but we must remind them of the sovereignty of God Proverbs 21:1 says the king's heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord he turns it wherever he will no matter the political machinations and alliances God remains in control fear of death is perhaps the most profound of all it is a universal Fear One
that affects every individual but Jesus has conquered death John 11:25-26 reminds us of his promise Jesus said to her I am the resurrection and the life the one who believes in me will live even though they die and whoever lives by believing in me will never die do you believe this when you are at peace with God the turmoil of the world does not affect you in the same way this peace is not merely the absence of conflict but the presence of God's comforting Assurance it shifts your focus from the temporary nature of this world
to the Eternal Promises of God Colossians 3:15 says Let the Peace of Christ rule in your hearts since as members of one body you were called to peace and be thankful this peace transforms your perspective it helps you realize what truly matters the real brevity of life and the Eternal significance of our choices Philippians 4: 6-7 instructs us do not be anxious about anything but in every situation by prayer and petition with Thanksgiving present your request to God and the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ
Jesus people are seeking peace in their lives a respit from the constant barrage of fear and uncertainty the gospel message offers this peace a promise of eternal life and a relationship with God that transcends the chaos of this world in John chapter 16:33 Jesus assures us I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace in this world you will have trouble but take heart I have overcome the world as Believers we must help others shift their focus from the temporary to the Eternal the Troubles of this world are fleeting but
the promises of God are Everlasting 2 Corinthians 4:17 to18 reminds us for our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all so we fix our eyes not on what is seen But on what is unseen since what is seen is temporary but what is unseen is eternal this eternal perspective brings Clarity and purpose it helps us prioritize what truly matters and live in a way that reflects the love and grace of God it gives us the strength to endure hardships knowing that our hope is not in this
world but in the world to come Romans 8:18 encourages us I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us when we understand the brevity of life it compels us to share the gospel with urgency and compassion people need to know that there is more to this life than what we see with our eyes they need to hear the message of Hope and salvation that only Jesus can offer in Matthew chap 28: 19 to 20 Jesus commissions us therefore go and make disciples of all Nations baptizing
them in the name of the father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you and surely I Am With You Always to the very end of the age we are living in bizarre strange times in real perilous times the world is in a state of emergency with people gripped by fear and uncertainty but as Believers we hold the key to peace and hope we must rise to the occasion preach the gospel and introduce people to Jesus Christ in him they will find the answers they
seek and the peace that surpasses all understanding even though hell on Earth can unfold fold there is more to this life than what we see with our eyes let us be the light in the darkness guiding others to the Eternal hope we have in Jesus Christ
