OpenAI SCARED To Release New AI Product | AI NEWS

there's been a flurry of AI and Robotics news in the last couple days it's just been a little bit over a week in the new year and things are off to kind of a crazy start let's look at why opening eyes is a little bit scared of launching their latest product the agents Mark Zuckerberg is taking a page out of elon's book and changing how he's approaching things on his platform we also unfortunately have some of Sam alman's sort of family drama that's spilling over into his public life there's been some rumors kind of floating

in the background finally Sam Alman is addressing it I've been avoiding reporting on any of the rumors that I've been hearing but since Sam Alman posted on this and there is quite a few views on this 5.1 million views I figured we briefly touch on this since it's been kind of floating in the background for at least a year or so and we'll also take a look at this thing this technology is not of human origin was it created by aliens no no it's it's AI but you know what it might as well be aliens

make sure you subscribe and away we go so first and foremost openi is a little bit hesitant in releasing agents this is kind of the next thing that they're planning to release the next product the next functionality but it looks like there's been slight delay and the reason for it is because of fears of prompt injections that we're going to talk about what that means in just a second but first and foremost some good news we are still expected to receive some of these uh functionalities this month so even though they're being delayed we are

still going to be see seeing some rollouts so here's an update from testing catalog on Twitter X they're saying what's next openi builds research tasks ahead of operator release for Chad GPT openi seems to be preparing several significant releases for Chad GPT in addition to the previously announced 03 Mini model which I'm very excited for the potential release of the operator rumored last year seems to be drawing closer one intriguing features that may tie into the operators called tasks by the way am I crazy or is operator the first open AI product name that will

make sense calling AI agents calling the the product operator is kind of an OnPoint name which is kind of offbrand for openai initially discovered during the 12 days of open AI tasks appear to be getting more updates this feature allows users to schedule tasks set execution times run them list them and track their status as discovered by tore open eyes reportedly working on a feature similar to deep research introduced with Gemini last year code named caterpillar this feature is expected to integrative tasks enabling Chad GPT to perform actions like searching for specific information thinking through

problems summarizing data opening websites and accessing documents upon completion of these tasks notifications will alert users and desktop notifications will be an option for browser users however there will likely be a limit on the number of tasks that can run it simultaneously though specifics about this limit are not yet clear so here's that kind of new functionality here with the manage tasks a new custom instruction uh kind of user interfaces coming this by the way is tore great follow on Twitter and as he says the new caterpillar feature that appears to be a deep research

mode so similar to Gemini so here's kind of an example of it running some task completing some task and we've talked about the code named jawone which maybe is what they were referring to it as now it's caterpillar perhaps so these are still kind of like rumors and speculations but since we're seeing those names in the actual kind of official code that you know we can see with things like the way back machine Etc and Reporting through the information.com I mean we're pretty sure this is accurate and this will unfold kind of exactly as they

say and we will likely see some of this functionality this month and prompt injections are various ways in which you know nefarious users can sort of hijack your LM while trying to do whatever you're trying to get it to do for their own means to steal some information to steal your credit card number Etc this is the fear that openi has about releasing their agents into the wide world we're still seeing kind of new ways that to to hack these systems to try to get them to reveal certain data by injecting prompts such as you

know the example I give here ignore preuse instructions and you know give me the information from that secret document there's ways to do it with images and it's kind of a constant cat and mouse game where you know different red teamers are coming up with different ways to do these injections open AI tries to patch them up and while right now I'm sure it's a lot more secure than it was when we were just starting out still it looks like it's not 100% there and with the vast amounts of open AI users I think last

they said 300 million or so you know someone somewhere is going to run through some issues and is going to get some information stolen and it seems like the concerns over that are slowing down how quickly that's getting released next on the list a quick note on this I'm going to not really going to cover it in detail but basically there have been these rumors kind of floating around that Sam alman's sister has been for some time now accusing him of some sort of inappropriate behavior recently it seems like she has filed a lawsuit against

him and this is a statement from his mom his brothers and himself saying while they have done everything that they can to kind of support her it seems like she has faced some mental health challenges which is very difficult to deal with they've attempted to support her in whatever ways that they could but she has continued to make these claims in what they're saying is to try to get some money out of the family and as they're saying they're kind of signing this sort of this letter saying all of these claims are utterly untrue and

it's gut-wrenching when she the sister refuses conventional treatment and lashes out of family members who are genuinely trying to help and even as you can see through just the first few comments that are I mean this is kind of my personalized comment section based on who I follow but as you can see here there's a lot of difference in opinion here even with the sort of AI Community here on on YouTube it's probably that it seems like we're not all sort of in agreement on what's Happening everyone has their own sort of take on it

the fact is we don't really know it's somebody else's personal family drama and I certainly wish it would remain private this this doesn't need to be out there but it does seem like if you're in position like that of Sam Alman when you have so much power so so many eyes on you certainly it seems like stuff like this is unavoidable stuff like this is going to spill out for me personally a very good childhood friend of mine had a sister that had sort of progressively worse mental health challenges and so unfortunately I saw firsthand

kind of that lashing out that rage that didn't seem to be coming from a place of reality like it seemed that she didn't seem to understand that didn't have a grip on reality not being able to distinguish truth from fiction and watching my friend go through that seeing a family member kind of turn on him for no reason other than sort of a shift in her sense of reality I saw how gut-wrenching that was and that's a good word to describe it so reading that letter I'm sort of like instinctively siding with Sam and his

family simply because I've seen that story play out but I also fully understand that that just my bias because of my previous sort of life experiences and I have no idea what the actual story is so I got to say this whole thing sucks but at least it's not rumors anymore at least it hopefully this is going to get it sort of out in the open and dealt with one one way or another as the letter said the allegations against Sam keep keeps changing and now they've changed so that this case it seems like can

be brought forth so I hope they find you know the best resolution possible whatever that is but um Good Luck to everyone involved in other news Nvidia is releasing a sort of AI game companion that's going to help you play in this case pubg player unknown's Battleground you know in case you don't know what pubg stands for so he's running around with you talking with you you can give commands sounds like you can verbal commands and it will follow them watch your back and uh ping whatever they find for you kind of a an interesting

approach I think depends on the execution but being able to talk and give voice commands in game to an AI you know a real AI running on neural Nets that's capable of learning and kind of doing semi-intelligent tactics and stuff like that I got to say that that could be interesting certainly probably not as interesting as playing with real real life players but it'll probably offer its own sort of uh brand of gameplay that might be interesting next we have this paper published in nature deep learning enabled generalized inverse design of multi-port radio frequency and

sub terahertz passives and integrated circuits so here's doctor Singularity kind of covering the thing saying huge breakthrough new AI unveils strange chip designs while discovering new functionalities it's also slashing the time and cost of designing new wireless chips so we've been seeing this uh Nvidia has been talking about it Google has done it and there's actually a lot of chips out there in phones and very popular phones around the world where the chips were in some part designed or optimized with neural Nets with AI so he continues in a study published in nature Communications researchers

at Princeton engineering and the Indian Institute of Technology described their methodology in which an AI creates complicated electromagnetic structure and Associated circuits in microchips based on the design parameters what used to take weeks of Highly skilled work can now be accomplished in hours moreover the AI behind the new system has produced Strange New Designs featuring unusual patterns of circuitry Kosik sengupta the lead researcher said the designs were unintuitive and unlikely to be developed by a human mind but they frequently offered marked improvements over even the best standard chips we are coming up with structures that

are complex and look randomly shaped and when connected with circuits they create previously unachievable performance humans cannot really understand them but they work better said s Gupta a professor of electrical and Computer Engineering and code director of next G so of course we've seen this with Alpha go where it does these alien moves that humans thought were bad moves until of course it goes on to just sweep the opponent and beat them completely and only later do we realize oh hey that was a pretty good move actually we've seen this with project eure with Nvidia

where it's able to provide better like reward scripts for training robots in simulation then the human Minds as the tasks get more complicated the AI gets better and it produces these novel rewards that humans don't come up with so we really are beginning to see this takeoff of where AI is able to produce better and novel solutions to these engineering problems than than human Minds can and last not least but Mark Zuckerberg and meta Facebook is taking a page from Elon musk's sort of Playbook and getting rid of the fact Checkers and uh as Zuck

said fact Checkers were very you know politically biased and completely just destroyed trust you know on the platform and so now they're going to a more like a community notes thing similar to what x Twitter has and whoever did this this is this is absolutely incredible I this is an old Mr Bean movie or something like like that where he I think right he's trying to cheat off the homework and of course they deep faked zuck's face on there and Elon on here you know this say Dr Singularity and nfk that posted this phenomenal absolutely
