[Peter] Earth isn't exactly a major planet in the DC universe, on the contrary. But even so, many Green Lanterns have come out of here and that includes some of the most powerful among them all. Because we have to remember that Green Lanterns are scattered throughout the universe.
Today we are going to talk about the strongest Earthling Green Lanterns who had the most brilliant careers within the troop, which has people from all over the universe. Hey Nerd, what's up? Peter here!
To be a member of the Green Lanterns, you know, you have to have imagination and an unwavering willpower that can overcome anything. Living on a planet full of problems, like Earth, it makes sense that there are so many Lanterns that came from here, since many people here need a lot of willpower to survive. Especially if it was a Green Lantern from Brazil, BR, have you ever thought about willpower?
But if we are a true "barn" of Green Lanterns, it is not possible to say that they are all on the same level. There is something for everyone: from the most advanced and historical within the organization, to the people who are just starting out and have a whole future ahead of them, full of adventures, successes and failures. So, you can think of a top 7 more or less like this, check it out: Guy Gardner was a very famous Green Lantern, but he wasn't exactly the most beloved, much less the most popular.
In reality, he is known to be a very annoying guy, annoying as hell, but you can't say that he is not well intentioned and competent in his work within the Troop. He's badass, there's no way. It's okay that the guy has already disrespected even the Guardians of the Universe, not even they can stand the guy.
That's why the last place on this list is a good size for Guy Gardner. And complaining is worse. .
. And I'll tell you, this guy, Guy Gardner, in Justice League was responsible for the funniest moments I've ever read in comics. Him staring at Batman, crying, him when Lobo knocks on the door, him crying.
. . wow, man, it's really funny!
Jessica Cruz is a relatively new Green Lantern, but she already has a pretty tough history in the DC universe. She initially appeared using the ring of Volthoom, the First Lantern, but soon managed to get rid of everything evil that this ring brought. That way, she became a Green Lantern, but even so, she still had to fight the extremely strong anxiety attacks she had, with the help of therapy and her own colleagues in the Corps.
Today she is a very respected Green Lantern because of all this background and she is gaining more and more experience and power, she is a character who has everything to shine a lot in the future of DC. There was a simpler time in the DC universe and that time is now known as the Golden Age of comics. At that time, the great team of heroes was not yet the Justice League, but the Justice Society and that team had a Green Lantern: Alan Scott.
And it's not even ONE Lantern, it was The Lantern, since he was the only one at that time, the Corps, the concept of rings, didn't exist yet. But Alan Scott is so powerful and important that even much later, with all this already established, other Lanterns from the now multiverse of DC will look to him for guidance, after all, he is indeed the first of all. You have to respect the guy too much, right?
From the past we go back to the present looking to the future with Sojourner Mullein, or Jo Mullein, as she is also called. This is a very young and very curious heroine, because actually one of the Guardians of the Universe himself offered her a Green Lantern ring. She accepted and was assigned to take care of a very empty, very remote sector of the universe and that, despite being kind of dull, made her become a very peculiar Green Lantern, with a very unique view of how things work, despite still being very young and having very little time as a member of the Lantern Corps.
So far, it's worked out well, and Jo Mullein is sort of revamping the Green Lantern stories with her own unique way of looking at things. Green Lantern John Stewart is one of the most respected beings in the universe to have worn a Corps ring at some point. Ex-military of the United States, he dominated like few others the power of the ring to conceive things according to the imagination of the user, probably nobody was better than him in that part.
The fact that he was in the military also turned this Lantern into an outstanding warrior, a great strategist, who helped Batman a lot in that more cerebral part while he was part of the Justice League. John Stewart is one of the greats, without a doubt, and there are few above him, okay? That's why he got the top 3 on our list.
And now for the top 2, drum roll! One of those is Hal Jordan, arguably the most well-known and important Green Lantern in DC history. He's the character most people refer to when they think of Green Lantern, held the position of Earth Lantern for a long time, and has been in stories that helped define the character, the Lantern Corps, and everything in between.
For you to have an idea, he was responsible for the destruction of the Troop, when he was possessed by the demon Parallax, but he also recreated it from scratch after this problem was resolved. This guy here was one of the few who managed to lead the Green Lantern Corps beyond the Guardians of the Universe. It's practically impossible to overcome him, but there's one guy, oddly enough.
. . The most powerful Earth Green Lantern that ever existed is called Kyle Rayner.
He appeared precisely in that time interval in which Parallax, through Hal Jordan, destroyed the Green Lantern Corps. Only one ring was left intact and it was given to Kyle Rayner, who not only wore it well, but made history, becoming one of the best Lanterns that ever lived. He became so powerful that he was renamed Ion, and he became basically a personification of the Corps and everything it stood for.
And it didn't stop there: with the Troop already rebuilt, he dedicated himself to learning to use and master the powers of the other rings. When he achieved this, he became one of the very rare White Lanterns and remains there to this day, the guy is basically a deity in the universe. And all this based on the purest effort and dedication!
It's hard to top Kyle Rayner! Now I want you to tell me, out of all these Lanterns, who would you most like to see appear in the DC Extended Universe? Kyle Rayner, Hal Jordan, Guy Gardner, John Stewart?
What would you like to appear there? It will be great to read the comments. Don't forget: subscribe here, activate the bell.
And I'm coming back soon for another DC video, more information for you. It doesn't matter if it's from DC, Marvel, anime, cinema. .
. we always like to inform you. You have to have the bell active, it's very important, for you to be aware of the news that will come out.
Thank you from the heart. See ya! Bye.
