i think one thing that makes every one of us similar to each other is the struggles we face or have had to face the struggles are very different for each one of us but they still have the same ability to affect us and that is why jesus stepped in and made that sacrifice for the whole world we all need jesus whatever our struggles and when we come face to face with this need and satisfy it by accepting jesus he opens us up to life as we have never known it a life of freedom peace joy
and righteousness as a christian watching this you may find yourself at the place where your present circumstances look nothing like what you know to be your identity in christ maybe you are struggling with masturbation you have done all you can to let go of it but your efforts have not given you that final victory today we will be speaking about the dangerous effects of masturbation on your spiritual life and why you must get rid of the habit because it is not god's will for you in second peter 1 apostle peter spoke about how god by

if there is anything we are certain about it is that we have an enemy who is very restless and always looking out for areas of our life where he can have a foothold if the enemy ever finds such foothold in our lives he does all he can to dwell there till it becomes a stronghold consistently living in sin or accommodating sin into our lives can make us feel guilty as believers the truth is we were built to feel god's love not guilt but when we live in sin then we begin to feel the guilt of
our sins masturbation as a believer is you beneath your reality and is bound to make you feel guilty guilt affects everything about us imagine you came back from school and found some chicken in the fridge you grill the chicken eat it then clean up to leave no trace of the evidence your mom returns from work to see that the chicken is missing from the fridge and inquires about it everyone denies knowing about the chicken then she cries about how she had special dinner plans for the chicken everyone goes to bed without dinner that night but
you go to bed full not only of chicken but also of guilt the truth is we feel remorse as christians because we have god's spirit convicting us of our sins however when we stop responding to the conviction and continue in sin rather than repentance then the detail comes in with guilt and wants us to believe that we are so terrible and there is no room for us in god again god does not want the devil to have a stronghold in your life he designed sex for marriage only and if you have been trying to get
the pleasure of sex outside of being married then it is high time to put an end to it the enemy has no right to put a charge against you except you give him it is time to step away from the guilt and accusations masturbation brings and run to god for help and salvation never stay comfortable with this sin tell the devil that your body is god's temple and begin to walk in your original identity it limits your performance for god and your interactions with other christians another effect of masturbation is that it limits how much
you can do for god god saved us because he desires a personal relationship with us but sin keeps us away from knowing god and serving him when we have sin in our lives it is hard to do as much as god wants us to do or even serve god's people as we should for instance if a brother or sister in the faith comes to seek you to help out with a problem and you also are struggling yourself with masturbation chances are higher that you will not be able to help them out with that problem also
the guilt for masturbation may be so empowering that it keeps you from going back to the fellowship with god it makes you think that you are not worth standing before god one thing scripture says that we must always have at the back of our minds no matter the sin we struggle with is to come boldly to the throne of grace that you may obtain mercy forgiveness and find grace for help in time of need only god can give you deliverance from masturbation however if you stop fellowshipping with him and begin to avoid other believers then
how can you get the deliverance you need the enemy wants you to feel you are not good enough to stand before god with your sins but you must remember and confess that while we were yet without strength christ died for us christ did not sacrifice his life for you because you were already perfect but to make you perfect remember that you were saved by grace and not works will set you on the course to get freedom from your sin go back to fellowship with god tell reputable believers what you are going through and seek prayers
stay praying and be accountable as you do this and resist the temptation every time it comes you are on your way to reestablishing your relationship with god and receiving liberty from the enemy ultimately it may lead to eternal condemnation the bible says that the wages of sin is death being engaged in sin leads to death that is why jesus came to save us from our sinful nature however when we choose to walk away from salvation and continue to sin then we are choosing to bring upon ourselves the consequences of our sinful actions there are no
excuses we cannot bring up ignorance as a reason god gave his son and walking away from the life his son offers to enjoy the pleasures of sin is the worst choice we can ever make as a believer if you live in sin the holy ghost comes to convict help and redirect he does all of this by bringing god's word to you and quickening you in the place of prayer as you build up your most holy faith however if we reject the conviction and go back to sin time and again he does not give up on
us but keeps coming back nevertheless there is something that happens to us every time we receive the corrections we sear our conscience and gradually drift to the place of becoming less sensitive to the voice of god's spirit chances are after a long while no remorse comes from the sin action and that the sin makes the spirit dead to god again this is why we must not be comfortable with sin and intentionally choose to walk in the newness of life that we have received choose to say no to sin choose to find help from past addictions
and choose to always have a clear conscience before god and with men this saves you from getting to that place where you do not want to have anything to do with god and renounce your salvation if you confess your sins god is faithful and just to forgive you but if you do not then you may be treading the path to hell and setting your soul up for eternal condemnation do not let masturbation lead you to a place where god already saved you from say no to sin say yes to god's word and get your relationship
with god back on fire you have been given victory over sin and the best way to have this victory is to walk by the spirit when you walk by the spirit you will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh be committed to studying god's word praying and being a part of people devoted to god this will help you grow spiritually and help you overcome when temptation sets in the devil will have no foothold in your life when you resist him steadfastly may god bless and help you amen you
