my name is RAM cherrim I serve on boards of companies in India in China in America I advise CEOs and de Bourgh's right now are working on how to convert a legacy company into digital based consumer companies first you got to be honest with yourself and that is see what your aptitude is there are people who can Excel to be without a leadership there are people who are leaders and can excel through practice you first get to know yourself are you an individual contributor or do you have the makings of a leader if you don't
have making some the leader go to that path where you can excel and have happiness in life if you have the basic seats of leadership one thing you need to do first and that is work with people earn their trust get the best out of them and increase their capacity and your capacity leadership is first and foremost getting the right people working with the right people collectively delivering results it starts somewhere on that path first everything else later [Music] I think the the the conception or misconception is that fact is there is no universal theory
of leadership the people think there is a theory there tzimmes conception leadership has to fit in the context we are working it is the performing art it has to be adapted to the situation there are ideas there are tools they are experiences and there are examples but there is a known Universal theory stop looking for Universal theory learn what you are learn what you can be seek help where necessary to outperform and increase your capacity first we should stop categorizing young people as Millennials because in this large population there are all kinds of Millennials there
is no such thing as one kind of millennial these people are brought up where you are able to read and see visually audio and readings the generation before ahead largely reading some audio and no visual so the Millennials cognitive reception of information processing of information the storage of information is very different from the previous generation and that is what is different [Music] the facts are clear today that the innovation and technology continues at a high pace anything that can be digitized will be digitized anything that can be automated will be automated there will be consequences
where there is a period in which we will have job losses and they will be more than the creation of new ones in that period then the jobs will come back in a different category and probably demanding higher intellectual content I think the thing you got to do whether you're doing this generation or before you first get to figure out to your friends what you've good at what you can be good at and then pursue that don't think in terms of the old careers think in terms of what's a new job new tasks new challenge
but not the old leather of career in a large company those days are over many young people now going to venture capital going to private equity find tasks that gives you satisfaction that doubles your capacity don't think in the old ways of new titles a 5% promotion in salary that is deadly stop thinking
