my name is Henry I'm only n years old and I am homeless so right now I'm up here on America's Got Talent but getting here wasn't easy what it follows is not a story but my lived reality a reality that I will make your heart much closer my life was very different a few years ago I had a warm house a small nice family my mom my dad and my little sister they were my entire world each night we would gather for dinner tell stories laugh and share about our day it was a life that
had seemed like a beautiful dream but then a one fateful night everything shifted that evening my family decided to take a short night walk everything felt normal the moon was shining and a cool breeze was blowing and we were sitting together having a good time and then then in one moment my entire life changed suddenly there came a loud noise a truck had lost its brakes it all happened so quickly I couldn't even react that truck just ran through over my mom my dad and my sister in one second my entire universe fell apart I
screamed I cried I freaking tried to wake them up and no baby they gone forever in a moment I lost it all my everything my home my family my happiness I was just 9 years old and I was completely alone my life then fell into darkness no one was there to understand me take me in I lost my home as well ending up on the streets my new home was the sidewalk the nights I would lay down alone shivering from cold starving from Hunger too frighten to find the guts to ask anybody for help but
the worst pain wasn't from Hunger or the cold it was from missing my family every night I would think of them of their smiles their voices and I'd cry myself to sleep I was broken I didn't want to be alive anymore and then one evening it happened something that would change on my life forever I was laying down on the street gazing into the sky humming a song gently just in order to ease my a man was walking by he stopped he looked at me and he said your voice is beautiful you should sing that
single sentence changed the course of everything since that day I made my pain my strength I started singing I would sing on the streets and people would stopped to listen just for a minute they saw me not as a homeless kid but as a human slowly I began to see that perhaps this was the cpose I was seeking perhaps music was I my reason to live and today I'm here on this stage I live for one thing and a one thing only music I didn't come here only as a singer I came here with a
story a story for the world to know that no matter how hard life gets never lose hope never my mom my dad my sister they're with me through their me memories I live Q unchanged and I know that if they were here with me today they would be proud of me so this is my story a little boy who lost it all but today he is ready to win the World with whole his voice not going to sing a song tonight I'm going to sing my story I'm going to sing my Agony my aspiration my
affection and if through my voice someone can find even a glimmer of hope then I know I've won the night was cold the streets were dark I lost my home I lost my spark the world can't moving left me behind but I still hear my mind Mama's at Daddy's voice my sister's H my heart's own choice they may be gone but I still see they never left they live in me so I sing you know when the nights are long I'll hold on you know when the RO feels wrong through the pain through the rain
