well what's going on is the Bilderberg conference an annual Gathering of some of the biggest movers and shakers in business and politics about 140 participants this year including the chief executive of Google the chancellor of this country and the former head of the CIA churned executive for the private Equity Firm KKR they're here uh at this event if you've never heard the B Bilderberg uh conference don't be worried I've been in the news business for about two decades i' never heard of it that's because the organizers don't really want you to know about it it
is very secret a very guarded Affair uh it's uh we're about I guess I don't know half a mile from the event itself uh just behind me you see some of the people here and some of the protesters starting gather and uh what is called the little wall of Watford because we're in the town of Watford by the local people they've dubbed at that and then over to my right there you see the big wall of Watford that's behind a canal or moat for security purposes uh another wall to keep people away from the Grove
Hotel where all these participants have gathered uh what's different this year well this year we know what's on the agenda the first time ever that the Bilderberg uh conference organizers have published that they're going to be talking about jobs and how to create them they're going to be talking about cyber security and also another theme is Big Data and how it's helping governments uh to run their Affairs so a very interesting uh meeting now underway with a little bit more transparent than it normally is friend there there's a man behind you Ryan that looks like
he's being attacked by a giant caterpillar but um that's neither here nor there um they've got a moat that I'm I'm impressed with the fact that they've got a moat uh look this is meant to be secret but it's getting a lot of attention it is getting a lot of attention and part of the reason it's getting a lot of attention is the protesters that are here and have been here for the last couple of days they object to the secret nature of this they object to what they see its conspiratorial nature um and so
they actually set up funny enough a dummy a fake website uh calling the press to come here um and saying that there was going to be full access after that uh and and we saw that website we were contacted by the organizers themselves to say nothing of the sort actually uh there won't be any access but uh is part of them trying the conference organizers trying to be more open they have designated this area on the land of the hotel for protesters and the Press uh to try and think make things a little bit more
transparent um in the climate that we're in right now
