have you ever felt a quiet tug on your heart a gentle nudge in your spirit calling you to pause just for a moment and listen yet the constant stream of notifications the endless feed makes it nearly impossible to stop and hear that whisper right now I'm asking you to stop scrolling just for a few minutes could this be the moment God has been waiting to speak to you it's so easy to get swept up in the pace of life we're constantly online constantly moving and in the blink of an eye hours can pass by filled
with scrolling liking and sharing but in this hurried Rhythm we often forget to stop and truly listen to God Psalm 46:10 tells us be still and know that I am God this isn't just a suggestion it's an invitation from our creator to step away from distractions and recognize his voice imagine a father and his child at a busy Fair the child is drawn to all the flashing lights loud games and colorful ATT actions yet amidst all the noise the father tries to call out to his child warning them to stay close but the child is
too captivated too distracted only when the child finally stops looks up and listens does the father's Voice break through isn't this how we are with God sometimes he calls to us guiding and offering wisdom but we're so captivated by the world's noise that we miss his voice just like that father God Longs for us to PA pause to look up and to tune our ears to his message in the Bible there are countless examples of people who heard God clearly when they said everything aside to listen take the story of Elijah in First Kings 19
after an intense period of challenges Elijah was in desperate need of Direction he looked for God in the powerful wind in the earthquake and in the fire but God wasn't in those grand displays instead God spoke in a gentle whisper a quiet voice this story reminds us that God doesn't always speak through the noise of life he speaks in The Quiet Moments yet if we're too busy with our screens or daily tasks we risk missing that whisper entirely God's voice may be quiet but it's powerful guiding us with the love and wisdom only he can
provide so what does this mean for our lives today how often do we genuinely make space for God we might go to church read devotionals or pray briefly but are we actively making room in our hearts and Minds for God to speak consider this the next time you wake up in the morning instead of reaching for your phone take a moment to be still close your eyes take a deep breath and ask God to prepare your heart for the day as you go about your morning let a moment of silence be your offering to him
these small acts can become powerful practices to nurture an ongoing intentional dialogue with God here's something practical we can all try start by setting aside just 10 minutes each day find a quiet space remove any distractions and simply listen you don't need to say anything just be present this is often where God meets us when we're quiet humble and open James 1:19 reminds us everyone should be quick to listen slow to speak and slow to become angry this wisdom isn't just about relationships with others it also applies to our relationship with God when we prioritize
listening over our need to constantly do speak or move we create space for God's guidance and peace to enter our lives think about your own life for a moment how often are you truly still waiting on God is there space in your daily routine to let God in to allow his Spirit to refresh you guide you and speak to you or is your life filled with so much noise that his voice becomes faint I know this isn't easy we live in a world that Praises productivity action and multitasking it's tempting to believe that unless we're
constantly achieving we're falling behind but what if true progress in our faith Journey comes not from constant action but from intentional Stillness Jesus himself would often withdraw to solitary places to pray as we see in Luke 5:116 if even the son of God valued These Quiet Moments how much more should we now now let's be real about this practice in today's world it takes courage to break away from the constant buzz but as Philippians 4:6 to 7 assures us do not be anxious about anything but in every situation by prayer and petition with Thanksgiving present
your requests to God and the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus embracing Stillness is a form of faith when we pause and trust that God will meet us in the quiet we allow his peace to enter our lives you may need to create boundaries set specific times for being offline establish places of quiet in your home or take walks in nature where you can connect with god without interruption whatever form it takes make this time sacred imagine the peace that comes from truly knowing God's
voice feeling his guidance in the deepest parts of your soul picture a life where instead of chasing every new distraction you are centered focused and confident in God's presence this life is possible for each of us but it starts by listening if you're ready let's take a moment together to invite God into our Stillness so I invite you to stop scrolling pause listen let God into your daily life by creating moments of Stillness make room for his voice his Direction and his love and when you feel that pull to check one more post post or
like one more picture remember sometimes the most powerful connection isn't online but in a quiet moment with God lord we come before you humbled and seeking your voice help us to silence the distractions that fill our minds and to make room for you in our hearts teach us to find you in the quiet to recognize your presence in the Stillness guide our steps and grant us the strength to resist the noise of this world may your peace be our anchor and may your wisdom fill our lives in jesus' name we pray amen let's walk forward
