today I'd like to talk to you about the goodness of God Mark 10:18 says so Jesus said to him why do you call me good no one is good but one that is God do you hear that no one is good but God how we need to know this truth one day a man stood up to give a testimony at his local church and as he was speaking about all that God had done in his life he said something that was powerful he said I have peace in my storms I have strength in my weakness
I have joy in my battles and I can say this because I have Jesus and he is good all the time when I'm in a storm he's good when I'm weak he's good when I'm in a trial he's still good God is good all the time and this made me think it's easy to say God is good when things are going our way when everything's running smoothly but are we able to say the same when the going gets tough are we able to say the same when we Face hardships in our lives are we still
able to say God is good when we're really going through James 1: 2-4 says dear brothers and sisters when Troubles of any kind come your way consider it an opportunity for great joy for you know that when your faith is tested your endurance has a chance to grow so let it grow for when your endurance is fully developed you will be perfect and complete needing nothing the Bible tells us that we should be joyful in all circumstances and not just that but we should hold on to Jesus even more tightly when we are in distress
I'd go so far as to say the deeper you're in distress the deeper your trust in Jesus should be the more fiery your problems seem to be the more on fire for God you need to be if it's painful you should be prayerful if it's agonizing you should be even more prayerful the rockier life seems to be the steadier your faith in Jesus Christ should be now of course putting this in practice is not easy it requires maturity it requires faith and it most definitely requires the Holy Spirit Proverbs 3 veres 5 and 6 say
trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding in all your ways submit to him and he will make your paths straight for you to truly appreciate the goodness of God you need to lean not on your own understanding but trust in the Lord with all your heart so dear listener no matter what comes don't lean on your own understanding just keep believing in Jesus Christ no matter what comes remain Anchored In The God Who is good all the time and so now as we get ready to go to
God In Prayer my dear friend I want you to stop a moment and even though you might have to declare it from a hard place I want want you to get in your spirit that God is good all the time and if by chance you cannot make that declaration then as we approach God In Prayer ask the Holy Spirit to help you to see things from a different perspective ask the Holy Spirit to lead you and guide you into the place of truth that God really is good all the time and all the time God
is good Lord Jesus help us to trust in you with all our heart enable us to lean not on our own understanding God we acknowledge that we are limited in our understanding and so we submit to you master we ask that your voice would speak to us guide us give us Direction in everything we do and everywhere we go your word in Isaiah 48: 17 and 18 thus says the Lord your Redeemer the Holy One of Israel I am the Lord your God who teaches you to profit who leads you by the way you should
go oh that you had heeded my Commandments then your peace would have been like a river and your righteousness like the waves of the sea God we submit to your leadership and to your Authority we submit to your will and to your way no matter what comes our way we will hold on to your word we will look to you for instruction and guidance your word in Psalm 25: 8-12 it says good and upright is the Lord therefore he teaches sinners in the way the humble he guides in Justice and the humble he teaches his
way all the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth to such as keep his Covenant and his testimonies for your name's sake oh Lord pardon my iniquity for it is great who is the man that fears the Lord him shall he teach in the way he chooses father keep us from falling into sin and lead us in the paths of righteousness no matter what this world presents us with we want to walk in your ways God you have called us us to walk by faith so Holy Spirit help us to do so you have
called us to walk with the fear of God in our lives Holy Spirit help us to do so you have called us to put our hands on the plow and not to look back Holy Spirit help us to do so Lord draw our hearts closer to you may you always be the focus on our minds our hearts may make PL hands but it is you dear God who establishes our steps and so we yield and we submit to you direct our steps father your word in Proverbs 16:2 says people may be pure in their own
eyes but the Lord examines their motives help us to guard against unpure motives in our lives father let our ways not be clean and innocent in our own eyes but may we we come to the realization that we need your blood to cleanse us indeed Lord I pray that you would weigh and examine the motives and intents of our hearts should you find our hearts motives and intents not to be aligned to your word then father May the Holy Spirit convict us and lead us to change and obedience change our perspective dear Lord help us
not to always seek to understand but Lord help us to trust you more and more forgive us for being so focused on wanting to know what your plans are instead of Simply trusting and believing that you know us best change our perspective dear God when life presents us with storms give us strong faith that says Lord if it is your will that I should face this storm then strengthen me to overcome For Your Glory God help us to see your hand in every situation I look at your word oh God and I can see that
you have been faithful to those who believe in you and you've done it time and time again your word in Isaiah 40: 29-31 it says he gives power to the weak and to those who have no might he increases strength even the youth shall faint and be weary and the young men shall utterly fall but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength they shall Mount up with wings like eagles they shall run and not be weary they shall walk and not faint father I declare your word which tells me that greater is
he who is in me than he who is in the world that means that you King Jesus have placed within me the strength to overcome adversity the strength to overcome the devil for that Lord I rejoice and God I thank you Lord we thank you for hearing this prayer we thank you for your goodness we thank you for consistently being faithful we thank you for being a God who was good all the time we bless your precious name King Jesus amen dear brothers and sisters when Troubles of any kind come your way consider it an
