the candidates some of the candidates like uh are you you're not following the Democratic Socialist of America over on Bill Maher's show on Friday night uh no it's not called grand buffet what's it called grand puba buffet golden corral buffet big guys whatever uh over on real time on Friday night uh Bill Maher had Jessica Tarlov on she is a Democrat who's a regular over on Fox and she tried to explain to Bill that the Democrats are the less crazy party and even Bill Maher was not having it. I think all these new recent elections have been about the Democrats are crazy on social issues. People don't like that.
Trump's crazy, but the economy is better. But he doesn't have the economy anymore. I mean, I looked at and we're less crazy.
Who's less crazy? Democrats. You haven't noticed.
Have you seen the Democratic? [laughter] You're being sarcastic. Oh, I No.
No. You think we're less crazy? Uh maybe not inside, but we're at least when we go out and give a speech talking about the economy and corruption.
They're communists who think the Islamists are the good guys. Are you kidding? Less crazy.
The candidates. Oh, some of the candidates like uh are you you're not following the Democratic Socialists of America? Oh, no.
I'm following them. I have to see them every day. I work at Fox News.
Okay. They're not less crazy. [applause] And they're not recanting any of that crazy gender stuff.
I mean, they're they're doubling down. I mean, what? She is just like an utter clown.
No wonder she's the Democrat on Fox. Like, good for Gutfeld gets to smack her around every Yeah. The Democrats are less crazy gender.
Are they less crazy on gender? Are they less crazy on modern racism known as DEI? Let's be racist against whites and Asians and Jews, etc.
Are they less crazy on borders? And then she claims that the Democrats are talking about fraud. What did she say?
Democrats are Was it fraud that she said? Yeah, it's like what? You you are insane.
So, Bill clearly uh clearly was not having that. Here's a bit more. Uh and I think you'll appreciate this one because it's something that I like to think that I push Bill on in a very successful way.
Bill explaining that she Jessica would get treated better by conservatives than Dems because because she's a purported moderate. Why? politics is so much more complicated than the people we were just talking about who don't it's not just Gaza they know nothing about their attitude seems to be Trump and the people who voted for Trump are the exact same thing and they are not the exact same thing it's so much more complicated than that 77 million people in this country are not Donald Trump god but that is I mean you and I you and I yeah you and I have pretty much the same experience with the left I've heard you say it that that you you treated better by their conservatives on the five than you did by what podcast were you talking about that you were on that I was it wasn't a p it was a a conference a a live thing called crooked con the guys who do a pod save America okay and I went and was surprised by how far left the activist class had moved because I kind I had thought that it was a bit like lore from the clips I was seeing right because I I see a a lot of how the right sees things and so they're going to p you know put the DSA up on your screen all the time instead of talking about the nor more normie Republicans and so going and being in a room with a thousand people that you know diehard Democrats or progressives I would say more was surprising to me.
And I was like, "Oh, actually there is some kooky stuff, more kooky stuff than I had thought going on here. " And I realized that being center left is not good enough. Yeah.
I mean, this is like this is like being center left during the French Revolution. It doesn't work out very well. Yeah.
Well done, Chris Rufo. Let's get Rufo back on the show. Like, that's the point.
That is literally what Bill Maher's lived experience is all about. I know a little bit about something. Trying to be on the center left, trying to be a sane liberal standing up.
And what's that phrase? Well, a conservative is just a liberal mugged by reality. So, she shows up thinking, "I'm a good center lefty.
I'm going to the Pod Save America conference, and they're former Obama guys, and everyone's going to be really nice, and maybe I have one or two thoughts that are a little different, but wait till we see what happens. " And then she got eaten alive. Here's Dave Rubin explaining that exact notion to Bill Maher and it was definitely the first time he had heard it so concisely.
What is this five years ago now? Go and you and I'm telling you, you could have walked in that audience and people would have Yes. Would a certain amount of people have been like a Bill Maher and [laughter] but but you know what a lot of people would have been there like you know what Bill Maher's here that's pretty cool.
That's pretty cool. which think how different that would be than if you went to an AOC rally where you would be hated beyond imagination. You're right.
I I don't mean that as like it's just true. It's just true. They're more the left are more purist.
Even even the way he said you're right and he was leaning in like you could see he was getting it and he subsequently I'm very very proud of that moment. Right. if I nudged him just a little bit to see something that was vitally important to see because there is no center left.
If you are on the center left, if you are an old school liberal, you are on the right. Bobby Kennedy, Elon Musk, Bill Maher, Dave Rubin, etc. Phoenix is just pointing out that actually that video uh was recorded four years ago.
That was four years ago yesterday on the 21st of September uh 22. And and I I think in those four years, wow, we've really seen Bill make a move. Now, where Bill will be two days before what the election's on a Tuesday, so where he will be on his Friday show, right before the election and hopefully giving a last little push for people to to maybe vote the right way.
We shall see. I won't hold my breath for that. But as you know, I I think that what he has done now has become a real net good in waking people up.
And and you can't get everyone where you want them at the exact same time.
