what's up guys I'm random Frank p and today we've got a review of one of the most anticipated releases of the year with the brand new Pulsar X3 which if you're not familiar with is supposed to be a almost clone to the Logitech g703 a loved and seemingly forgotten Mouse by Logitech everyone's been asking for a brand new re-release and Pulsar delivered with their new X3 so we'll check it all out for you guys today in this review so checking it out this is probably one of the most anticipated releases in a long time I remember when Pulsar first teased this idea of a g703 clone people went crazy and that was just over the summer so in a matter of 3 4 months the X3 is here filling the void that is a modern Logitech g703 and as you can see we have that ergonomic body here with a really unique inward slope where it feels like the mouse is almost like a backwards C in shape which I first glance may just look like any other traditional Ergo Mouse on the market but it's truly the feel in the hand which makes this so unique and Contour to the Palm which is why the g703 was so popular to begin with Pulsar of course still giving their own spin on things with their continued design language but man it just feels good to be back in a typical Pulsar fashion the X3 is available in a size one and size two for a medium and a mini model with the size two being the one that so closely matches the g703 and as no there by the measurements you can see it's just a matter of a millimeter between the g703 and the X3 with the X3 mini being 4 mm smaller overall now what's also really cool is they're making this X3 for left-handed users as well so this is the rightand model but they're making a completely separate left-hand version and if you look on the entire Mouse Market a left-handed Ergo is extremely extremely rare probably like a handful out there no pun intended out of the probably close to hundreds of thousands of mice that's ever been released very very rare to see a left-handed Ergo Mouse but again Pulsar is just covering the bases making something for everybody not only different sizes from you know size one to size two but also now for both users very cool now despite being the closest thing we've seen in recent years to a reliable g703 clone longtime users will immediately notice that the weight is the biggest difference here nearly 40 G between the two down from about 94 1/2 G to 53. 8 on the size 2x3 again while still nearly being a one toone shell clone but they do visually look a bit different with Pulsar going a lot more simple and minimal looking with their unimot design whereas on the g703 that was broken up into like different parts as you can see to the molding of the shell and with the rubberized sides that also has a DPI button up top Under The Scroll wheel where again on Pulsar that's all underneath and and just from my time testing and using both side by side I can really say this does feel nearly identical in the hand it's pretty impressive they were able to copy it so closely you know give us that really unique and iconic shape but modernize it at a much much lower weight now for today's Mouse market so Logitech you couldn't pull it off in the last 6 years now and rightfully so Pulsar gets to step into the Limelight and take over the X3 coating is pretty similar to their other Pulsar mice it's that matte finish here so if you've used other Pulsar mice again pretty much that same coating you're familiar with and one physical visual difference they made on this mouse is underneath before this had that sort of you know open shell design where it still has that now but there's actually this piece of I don't know it's like very very thin plastic pieces where it's open so that's all covered now I don't know what the actual material is it is kind of soft you can like press it in similar to what lambu does with stickers on the bottom of the mice you can cover that all up and I'd assume this is only adding a matter of like . 1 G also while we're here again you have your DPI button underneath with the on and off toggle in the sensor is their Pulsar Flagship called their xs1 Flagship sensor all the way up to 32,000 DPI also inside they're using their kale Optical switches with their Pulsar blue encoder for the scroll wheel which is nice and tactile very spammable in game and what I love is nice large side buttons on an ergo Mouse but we'll do a sound test you could hear how it sounds and how it holds up so yeah feels really nice no issues in terms of build quality uh the shell is nice and solid no creaking or anything like that nothing rattling around which obviously what you want um barely any post or pre-travel on any of the buttons again I really like how big the side buttons here on the X3 uh and again left and right clicks feel really nice barely any paddle shift and the uh the pulse are blue and Co here for the scroll wheel nice and tactile nice and satisfying now in terms of results for some end to end latency testing which I do on my OSL which tests click latency again end to end results here and at 1K Herz pulling we're at around 4.
65 milliseconds and at 8K Herz polling we're at 2. 21 milliseconds now you do need to purchase your separate 8K dongle to be able to go up to that higher refresh rate or pulling rate sorry you can see where it Stacks up given the rest of the 2024 release relases so far that I've tested surprisingly all the way at the top at 4. 65 at 1K under 5 milliseconds and this is end to end so realistically it's much lower than that that ak's down with some of the fastest of the year at around 2.
21 milliseconds and like I said before with these Mouse tests going at a higher pulling rate it's more so going to affect like your sensor accuracy and tracking so actual clicks not so much but just giving you guys a visual comparison of the results data comparisons never hurt but pulling rates fugazi anyways right so to wrap this one up and put a bow on it here's what I'll say and as you guys know if you've been searching for a mouse for a while now the bottom line what it comes down to always is shape shape is King depending on your hand size your preferred grip when you find a mouse grip that just feels like a natural extension to your hand that's always going to be the key regardless of specs you know specs only go so far so it's all about the shape and there is something truly to be said about a mouse that does feel like it is a natural extension of your hand that is what you would call endgame and honestly after loving the g703 for years when it first came out and then you know it became obsolete like I've been saying we've been waiting for an updated version which Logitech just never delivered but Pulsar did here and it is absolutely incredible here's what I'll also say about finding a good Mouse depending on what game you play or if you just have you know like a main game that you're always invested in like I am with Battlefield 5 for years and years now once you learn every in and out about that game you know I'm talking player speed recoil on certain guns or being able to spot them from a distance just from only a few pixels because you know every aspect of that game on how to spot enemies then you couple all that you know knowledge and experience with finding a great Mouse and you really can become Unstoppable is this all stuff that you can do with any other Mouse yeah sure with the big thing for me with this is it just feels so natural and comfortable the adjustment period to this was pretty much nothing because it is such a natural feeling Mouse in the hand and for someone like myself who's been Ming a symmetrical Mouse the last what four 5 years now being able to drastically switch over to Ergo and have zero downtime and if anything see an immediate Improvement really really says a lot the X3 while not the fastest on the market or the lightest but it's everything we could have asked for a a lighter faster new g703 from a company who actually cares about improving and listening to what people want so it's hard really not to be impressed by the final product here again it was just a few months ago that they teased this was coming and for users of the g703 who six years ago fell in love with this and been constantly asking for something so much lighter and more modern Logitech ignored the community still nothing like this from Logitech Tech and that's where Pulsar comes in so is this mouse going to be for everybody probably not you know if you're still rocking like an next2 or a Viper a Viper signature anything like that then this shape really isn't going to be for you because it is more of an aggressive Ergo shape really really contoured to fit your inside of the palm and that meaty side of your thumb here so if you're an Urgo lover you're definitely going to want to check this out and again just for those who loved this this is going to be a major Improvement better in pretty much every way so so much lighter nearly half the weight if you think about it and for the price of $99.
