And so it is that ash seeketh [music] embers. >> [bell] >> There was a chain around you that no one could see. Not iron, not rope.
Something older. Something placed there by hands that loved you enough to hold you back from [music] what you were truly capable of becoming. And you hated it.
You hated the restraint. You hated the silence. You hated the way [music] life kept pressing its boot into your chest while heaven said nothing.
You thought God had forgotten you. You thought the prayers were going nowhere. Just words thrown into a black sky bouncing off stars that didn't care.
But you were wrong. He heard every single one. He just wasn't ready for you to be free yet.
Because some soldiers are too dangerous to release before their war arrives. You need to understand [music] something. God did not chain you because you were weak.
>> I'm back. ALL OF THIS [ __ ] SALT AND TURMERIC [ __ ] GOT ME BACK. >> He chained you because of what lives inside you.
There is a fury in your blood that doesn't belong to this world. A fire that was lit before you were born. Carried through every ancestor who refused to stay dead.
And that fire, it terrified heaven. Not because it was evil, because it was unfinished. Raw power with no direction is a flood.
It destroys everything including the one who carries it. So God wrapped a chain around your spirit and said, "Not yet. Not like this.
First I teach you where to aim. " And the teaching was brutal. He didn't sit you in a classroom.
He threw you into ruin. Every person who abandoned you, that was curriculum. Every night you spent staring at the ceiling, >> I took up the sword, prayed I could win redemption through my deeds, >> wondering if tomorrow was even worth waking up for, that was a lesson in endurance you couldn't learn any other way.
Every time you reached for something good and watched it crumble in your hands, that was God stripping away everything you thought you needed so you could finally [music] discover what you're made of without it. You begged him to stop. You didn't.
You screamed into the dark and the dark just swallowed it. You fell to your knees so many times, the ground knows you by name. But here is the part they will never understand, the ones who watched you crawl and called you finished.
You kept getting up not because you had hope. Some of those nights, hope was dead, cold and stiff on the floor beside you. You got up because something deeper than hope lives in you, something that does not have a name, something that breathes when everything else in you has stopped.
That is what God was protecting, that nameless thing, that refusal to die. >> What the hell we all waiting for? Start attacking life.
Waiting for the [ __ ] stars to align. BACK WHEN I WAS GROWING UP, THIS SONG CAME OUT. >> You chained the rest of you so that one piece could grow in the dark without interference, no distractions, no comfort to make it soft, no love to make it dependent.
Just you and the thing inside you that will not quit, locked together in a room with no windows, learning each other's language. And the language you learn there, no church teaches it. No book contains it.
It is the language of a man who has met [music] God not he worshipped but in war, who has looked at heaven with blood on his teeth and said, "I "I am still yours. " That changes a man completely. The people around you saw the chain.
They just didn't know what it was. They saw a man who couldn't seem to win. A man who worked harder than everyone and still lost.
A man whose prayers seemed to bounce [music] off the sky. And they pitied you. Some of them laughed.
Some of them prayed for you with voices that dripped with the kind of mercy that [music] is really just condescension wearing a mask. They thought you were cursed, punished, forgotten by the God you kept calling on. They had no idea they were watching a weapon being built.
Because that is what chains do when [music] God is the blacksmith. They don't just hold you. They shape you.
Every restriction becomes a repetition. Every limitation becomes muscle you didn't know you were building. Every time life said no, your spirit said again.
And again. And again. Until the word no lost its meaning entirely.
And the only language your soul speaks now is forward. So, let them misunderstand the process. Let them think the chain was punishment.
You know the truth. The chain was the forge. And you, you were the blade being folded [music] in on yourself a thousand times until nothing could break you.
Not people. Not failure. Not even the silence of the God who was building you in secret.
Now, pay [clears throat] attention. Because this is where the story turns. There comes a day, and you have felt it.
Maybe you're feeling it right now when heaven looks down at the war and and the reserves have waited long enough. When the chain doesn't loosen gradually, >> [music] >> it breaks all at once. Not with a whisper, with a sound that shakes [music] the foundation of everything that held you down.
The day God broke the chain on his darkest soldier [music] was not a celebration. It was a verdict. It was heaven saying to everything that ever [music] tormented you, your time is over.
I kept him from you not to protect him, to protect you from [music] what you would become once I let him move. And now you move different, not faster, heavier. There [music] is a weight to you now that wasn't there before.
>> I shall find no peace on this road. There is only >> Your footsteps land different. Your voice carries different.
The air around you has changed. People feel it before they see it. Something shifted.
Something ancient woke up in your chest and it is not going back to sleep. You don't argue anymore. You don't explain yourself.
You don't beg for seats at tables [music] you can now build with your bare hands. The man who needed approval died [music] somewhere between the third and fourth time life brought him to his knees. What stands [music] now doesn't need permission, doesn't need applause, doesn't need a single soul to believe in him because he has already been believed in by the only voice that matters.
And that voice didn't [music] say you're special. It said you're ready. There is a difference between a man [music] who has been blessed and a man who has been broken by God and then rebuilt by him.
The blessed man is grateful. The rebuilt man is terrifying because he has nothing left to lose. Every soft thing has already been burned away.
What remains is iron and intention and a faith so deep [music] it doesn't sing hymns anymore, it wages war. That is you now. The darkest soldier.
Not dark because [music] you are evil, dark because when God trained you, there was no light. And you learned to fight without it. You learned to swing in the pitch black and still [music] hit your mark.
You learned to pray with your teeth clenched and your fists closed. You learned that worship is not always a [music] song. Sometimes it's standing up one more time when everything in [music] your body says stay down.
Heaven didn't train you in cathedrals, it [music] trained you in caves, in silence, in abandonment. In rooms where no one came and no one called and the only sound was your own breathing reminding you that you were still [music] alive for a reason you couldn't yet see. But you trusted it.
Even when you couldn't feel it, you trusted the reason was real. And that trust, blind, bleeding, stupid trust in a God who refused to explain himself, that is the thing that made [music] you worthy of the unchaining. Because God does not break the chain for men who need proof.
He breaks it for men who fought without any. >> Starving >> [music] >> is proof that our past is real. But the one thing we do is we [music] don't let it control our lives.
>> Now look at your hands. The same hands that trembled, the same hands [music] that reached out and found nothing, the same hands that pounded the floor at 3:00 in the morning asking why. Those hands are weapons now.
Not because they're strong, because they've been empty. A man who has held nothing learns to grip everything differently. He doesn't clutch, he commands.
There is no desperation in his touch anymore, only authority. And your eyes Your eyes used to search rooms for acceptance, for someone to see you, for a nod, a sign, anything that said you mattered. Now your eyes walk [music] into rooms first.
Before your body arrives, your gaze has already spoken. And it says one thing, I did not come here to fit in. I came here because something in this room needs to change, and heaven sent me to change it.
You will be misunderstood. That is the cost. The chained version of you was easy to love, manageable.
He fit into boxes. He laughed at the right times and stayed quiet when it was convenient. But the unchained version, this version, is a problem for [music] every comfortable person in your life.
Because your freedom reminds them of their own chains. And instead of breaking their own, they will try to convince you to put yours back [music] on. Do not.
The chain is broken. And what God has broken, no man puts back together. No guilt, no manipulation, no memory of [music] who you used to be.
That man served his purpose. He carried the weight so this version could carry the mission. Honor him, but do not return to him.
He was the cocoon. You are what crawled out of it, and what crawled out does not go backward. Here is the part that will shake you.
The war you trained for, it's not against them. Not against the ones who hurt you, or left you, or laughed while you bled. The war is bigger than any name or face.
The war is against every lie that says a man who has been through hell cannot carry heaven inside him. Against every whisper that says your pain disqualifies you from purpose. Against the silence [music] that tried to convince you that God's absence was rejection when it was preparation.
You are the answer to a prayer someone else is still [music] praying tonight. Someone out there right now is on their knees in the same dark [music] room you once lived in asking God if it gets better. And you, your life, your survival, your unchaining is the evidence [music] that it does.
Not easier. Better. Harder and holier and heavier than they expect.
[music] But better. So walk now. Walk like the chain never held you back, it held you together.
Walk like [music] every step is a sentence God wrote on the earth with your feet. Walk like the soldier you are. Not the kind who marches [music] for applause.
The kind who marches because the order was given. And the order was enough. The world will feel you before it sees you.
And when it finally [music] turns and looks, when it sees the scars, the steadiness, the ancient calm [music] behind your eyes, it will ask the only question that matters. What happened to him? And heaven will answer.
I broke the chain on my darkest soldier and the war he was built for has finally begun.
