okay so you gave up on music yeah at the time I was very angry and you started selling drugs yes okay and this was what yearh in the 80s no about yeah the 80s are going into the 90s about 88 or so yeah okay so crack era is in full swing at this point so how did you initially get into it it was something your mom helped you with or you did it completely on yourself well I was working for somebody okay at the time and I got caught went to jail I got bailed out
and my mother sat me down and said you're old enough that I can't tell you what to do but I will tell you if you're going to be doing it do it for yourself and that's how I became uh I'll say successful at it because I I made it out alive okay so you started with crack initially yeah selling crack and then my mother was the actual chemist for a lot of big drug dealers back then meaning that she would take the Coke and turn into crack no she would take the dope the heroin yes
oh and makes it up and so she told me if I if I was going to do it do it for myself that way I had all the responsibilities yeah what would you need to do with Heroin once you get it bag it up oh just bag it up yeah okay yeah break it down bag it up yes exactly okay so you're selling heroin as well yeah and from what I understand heroin is like the worst drug to be on yeah it was because you go through physical withdrawals when you're not on it that makes
you do literally anything right literally anything I mean like I I remember reading the book dope fiend by Donald and the opening scene of the book was they're in a a dope house and the guy was running it is having the women have sex with the German Shepherds for a hit of right heroin MH and I said wow this is you know this is based on real situations right this is the type of thing people do on heroin what was like dealing with heroin addicts uh heroin addicts are a lot different than crack addicts right
and um this is I know it's kind of messed up but to have a habit of $200 a day some of these guys don't have no jobs some of them are homeless on the street but they still fulfill that habit of $200 a day and you sit around and you hear people complain about being broke or they can't find find this and find that I I think that is it's amazing that they actually find money to cure their habits and guys weren't around here talking broke or they want to borrow this and they can't do
it and it's it's strange to me so dealing with a heroin addict I looked at it like how is this cat getting this money every day to to knock that monkey off of his shoulder so I kind of looked at things a lot different than the average drug dealer you know it was something that I had to do no not really had but you chose to do it yes exactly and [Music] um at the time it was it was the thing that the only way to seem to really get enough money to become rich or
whatever cuz you were actually going to college and using the drug money to pay for college uh no I didn't use the money to go to college I actually went to business school which they considered college and uh took out a loan okay like everybody else
