Astronaut Ria regains consciousness aboard a space station that has landed on the planet Ash. The woman can't remember who she is or how she got there. There's an inexplicable cut on her forehead.
Terrifying visions flicker through her mind and disembodied voices accuse her of everything that happened. The ship's AI warns of anomalous activity and she rises to activate the backup power and fix the system failure. Ria moves through the ship, puzzled by the blood stains on the corridor walls and floor.
Soon, she finds the body of an astronaut. She pulls a knife from it and continues on, eventually realizing that all her crew members are dead. For some reason, the airlock is open and the woman steps into a rocky world where flakes of ash fall from above.
Overhead, a massive light tunnel seems to unfold in the sky. In that moment, she suddenly remembers a name, Brian. Breathing becomes difficult, and she returns to the ship where the system reports that the oxygen level inside is critically low.
In a half-day state, she sees distorted faces. Suddenly, she finds herself in a pristine messaul. Kevin shouts a new slogan about prosperity, and Davis suggests they eat five servings of canned beans in honor of their friend Brian.
The crew suggests that Ria will be the first to step out onto the newly discovered planet this time and celebrates the fact that the planet is nearly breathable. In reality, Ria reaches the medical bay and patches up the wound on her neck. Then, she heads to the showers, trying to understand who she really is.
Later, the woman finds a ship's log where observations about the air quality and pressure in the cabins were recorded. In the moving images, she sees herself tending to some plants, but then the system announces that movement has been detected in zone 1. Arming herself with the knife, Ria heads toward the area.
When a figure in a space suit enters through the airlock, she attacks. Unexpectedly, the person calls her by name and begs her to stop. When he sees she doesn't recognize him, he tells her his name, Brian, and explains that he came down from orbit after receiving her distress signal.
She had said that Clark had gone mad and attacked the crew. Ria explains that she only remembers fragments, images, and the attack by a woman. She doesn't understand what's happening and has no idea who or where she is.
Brian asks her to wait for him and leaves while Ria covers the dead. Later, he brings out a medical bot, explaining that their mission and vessel are named 7F. Brian realizes that she remembers nothing, not even Earth.
The woman lies down on the examination table and the medical bot begins scanning her body. Meanwhile, Brian tells her that the previous six missions failed. Humanity's only hope rests on the seventh.
Half a dozen ships are scattered across the galaxy, searching for an Earthlike planet, and now they might be able to proudly call the discovered planet their new home. At that moment, the medical bot's tools dig into the wound on Ria's forehead, and Brian tries to calm her. He explains that he stayed in orbit because his duty was to monitor the base from above in case of incidents.
Suddenly, Ria recalls seeing a shooting star in the sky, and Brian confirms that it was their main ship stationed in orbit. Meanwhile, the medical bot stitches up Ria's head wounds, and Brian asks about her temperature. Ria admits she used a patch from the medical kit, which affects her in strange ways.
Brian recalls that on the way to this planet, people often discussed why they joined the program. Rhea insisted it wasn't about sacrifice. It was about seeking answers.
As if what was on Earth hadn't been enough for her. Even if she doesn't remember who she is, she's still the same person at heart. He advises her to rest.
However, Ria can't shake the thought that Clark might still be outside. If so, her oxygen would be running out. Clark could have found shelter, especially since the sandstorms here are extremely fierce.
Ria puts on a space suit and goes out to search for her colleague. She recalls having seen a drone she planned to pilot before everything went wrong. As she searches the area, Ria speculates that Clark might have been infected with something that drove her insane, causing the massacre.
Ria drags black body bags containing the astronauts outside while Brian urges her to let go of the past. The station is running on reserves with only basic functions working and even the oxygen is depleting. They must leave this planet as soon as possible.
Everything else, including what happened here, takes a back seat. First, they need to return to orbit, which isn't easy because the shift in the satellit's orbit must precisely align. Brian worries about her condition, and Ria herself feels exhausted.
She decides to take a short break. Suddenly, while looking at Kevin's dead face, she sees a bloody monster. The hallucination fades, and the woman returns to the ship, attributing everything to exhaustion, but almost every object that could be used as a weapon reminds her of the massacre.
Rhea applies another psychedelic medical patch to her neck. Later, a sandstorm sweeps over the station, and as Ria watches it, she admits that she's starting to remember bits and pieces. Then, the AI reports a breach has been detected.
Dawning their space suits, they go to locate the damage, heeding warnings about critically low air levels. Upon reaching the emergency level, they realize someone must have been there. Ria hears a strange noise, follows it, and finally finds the breach.
As she welds it shut, the mutilated face of Clark appears before her. Struggling to fight off the vision, she manages to finish the repair and return inside. Brian proposes that Clark might have come into contact with some pathogen that caused a psychotic breakdown, something like rabies.
But Ria feels that something doesn't add up and that they are missing a bigger piece of the puzzle. She wants to get to the bottom of it and find Clark. However, Brian reminds her that they've already lost 30% of their oxygen.
The next launch window is in 5 hours. A heated argument brews between the astronauts as failing to launch would mean suffocating and it would all be for nothing. Brian reminds her that they still have to reach his module, a 25-minute trek.
He admits he doesn't know what's wrong with Clark and doesn't think she's worth risking their lives for, but he promises they will get to the truth. Ria retreats to her quarters, watches footage of her fallen friends, and remembers Kevin, to whom she had been close. Closing her eyes, she suddenly finds herself under an open sky.
A drone hovers over her face before flying upward. Looking around, she realizes she's standing in a grassy field wearing a fancy dress and strange jewelry. Sunlight filters through palm leaves, and nearby stands Kevin.
Between them lies a kind of tube. Peering into it, Ria sees a swirling tunnel that seems to pull her in, but then Kevin confesses he's in pain. Ria sees him aboard the ship and wakes up.
The woman finds and plays back footage of the crew's planetary exploration. The crew comments that while this planet isn't perfect, they don't really miss Earth because the place is breathtakingly beautiful, though they doubt they'll quickly get used to the scenery. Soon, the astronauts discover the emissions Brian had mentioned.
Suddenly, they find an enormous tunnel in the ground glowing with strange objects. Someone cries out in excitement, realizing these are terraforming and atmosphere creating installations. One of the men decides to measure the depth of the tunnels, but when he descends, an explosion occurs.
Sparks and whirls of some unknown substance shoot into the air. Shocked, Ria realizes her friends are dying, and Brian had known they were on a mission and had disappeared. Ria demands an explanation.
He had been watching her all this time as she wandered in circles trying to piece together what happened to Kevin, Clark, Audi, and Davis. She had nearly gone insane while he knew the planet was being prepared for life. He defends himself by saying that his duty was to keep her under control because he knows her well.
And even though she has lost her memory, she hasn't truly changed. Therefore, they must get off the planet first and then try to make sense of everything. Suddenly, Ria confesses that she killed everyone and doesn't know why.
Thus, she feels she cannot leave the station. She realizes the patches help her remember what happened. But Brian admits he doesn't trust the person she is becoming.
Their mission, the survival of the human race, must come first. Here, they discover technology capable of terraforming planets. This could change the fate of all humanity.
Their priority must be completing the mission. In 2 hours and 39 minutes, they must launch. Ria starts packing her things when Brian comes in and personally changes her patch, promising to return when it's time to leave.
The man leaves and Ria is overwhelmed by the longest memory yet. She sees Adi, deranged, attacking her. She tries to fight him off, but he is incredibly strong.
His face is twisted into a horrific inhuman expression. Ria reaches for a pair of scissors and stabs the astronaut's body several times. In reality, she collapses onto the bed, drained of all strength.
But immediately, the bloody, distorted faces of her friends appear before her. She calls out for Brian to report that everyone had been infected, but the man doesn't respond. Ria searches the ship for him and suddenly finds his body lying on the floor.
As she rushes forward, Clark, still in her space suit, attacks her. Ria grabs a blowtorrch lying nearby and directs the flame at her friend. Clark's suit catches fire, but she shoves Ria aside and activates the local fire suppression system.
Once the fire is extinguished, Clark advances on her again. The two women fight. Clark drives Ria into a shower stall, and Ria, wrenching the hose free, shoves it into Clark's suit and turns the water on.
Clark drowns as the liquid quickly fills her suit. Ria drags the body to the medical bay and scans it, but the bot finds no additional injuries. At that moment, the AI announces that the orbital window is now open.
Ria carries another black body bag outside and looks up at the mother ship flying overhead. She returns to the module and attempts to start it. When the systems fail, she sticks two patches onto her neck at once.
Immediately, she hears the medical bot's voice and remembers Brian. The bot scans his body and reports that he died 51 hours ago. Once again, Ria is left asking, "What is happening?
" The system reports anomalous activity and the detection of an unusual life form. Rehea starts searching the ship and suddenly sees a living Bion and realizes it's the infection using a human body. Unexpectedly, the man promises to show her everything and then she'll understand.
Her memories take her back to the moment when the astronauts return to the station, bringing the mysterious substance with them. Brian's voice calls out to the station while the astronauts discover an unknown life form and prepare to take a sample for study. Ria returns aboard and overhears her friends discussing how the mysterious entity seemed to have been observing them from the start, waiting for the right moment to strike.
Ai suggests fleeing as soon as possible to protect the mission. But Ria reminds them that their mission was to live a life light years away from home. And now they had witnessed something that could help humanity colonize planets without poisoning themselves with unsuitable atmospheres.
She dons her space suit, ventures into the contaminated section, and manages to collect a sample. studying it, she realizes it's a form of self-replicating technology. Adi calls out to her and suddenly the sample expands, shattering the containment glass and attacking him.
Horrified, Rio watches as a squid-like creature forces itself up Audi's nose. His face twists into a monstrous expression and he attacks her. The rest of the crew rushes in.
Clark tries to pull Ria away while Kevin checks on Audi, but Audi attacks Kevin. Kevin kills him, but the creature immediately jumps to its new host. Kevin attacks Ria.
Clark, still in her spaceacuit, shoves Kevin aside in an attempt to save her friend. But Kevin assaults Clark brutally just as Brian enters and stands in shock, unable to believe what he sees. Kevin notices Brian and leaves Clark to go after him.
Ria tries to help Clark, puts a whole helmet on her, and pushes her out the door, ordering her to reach the landing module. Kevin calls out to Ria. The woman apologizes for what she's about to do.
She sees him beginning to mutate and stabs him in the chest with a knife. The creature exits his body and burrows into the wound on her temple. Suddenly, she seems to see it inside her own mind.
Ria thrashes, trying to understand what's happening. Finally, she goes still as the AI announces parasite activity has been detected. Ria sees something red and pulsating functioning inside her and realizes it's an alien intelligence.
The creature explains that this is their planet and they will not allow it to be taken. Humans are an inefficient species doomed to self-destruction. They only want her to join the Legion.
She would become something greater and it would be a great honor. But Ria refuses to join the collective mind. She rips off the patches and the ghosts of the crew immediately dissipate.
Ria rushes to the medical bay, initiates a scan, and authorizes the removal of the parasite from her brain. During the procedure, she dies. Moments later, a glowing orb appears before her eyes, transforming into a corridor.
But then she comes back. The medbot completes the operation and having extracted the parasite destroys it. Rhea is about to leave when Brian reanimates.
Tentacles grow from his head and the monster lunges at her. Rhea grabs a knife and wounds the former astronaut, but the monster refuses to stop. She grabs the blowtorrch and directs a jet of flame at his head.
The monster burns away. A fire breaks out aboard the station. Ria dons a space suit and flees the burning ship.
She finally reaches the landing module, starts it, and takes off, leaving the planet behind and heading toward the mother ship, remembering her fallen friends. The film balances on the edge between cosmic horror and psychological thriller, constantly making the viewer question what is real. The combination of a talented director, strong cast, and grim atmosphere makes it genuinely compelling.
