Lilith who is she now we see this a lot of times in those of us who do ministry of Deliverance where a demon calls himself Lilith but recently in our culture we've been seeing for example this hasb been Hotel Amazon Prime series features her being a wife of Lucifer and they have a child named Charlie who is bisexual also we see for example Diablo series um there's a video game franchise that portrays Lilith as a demon and and it's a character with a lot of impact on games lore and the storyline in 1968 Lilith was
a feature a character in the film portrayed as a mysterious seductive woman in a mental institution enchanting and manipulating men around her in True Blood Lilith is depicted as the first vampire and a central religious figure within a vampire Society in this American TV series in the popular American TV TV series Supernatural Lilith is portrayed as the first demon created by Lucifer serving as the primary antagonist in a several seasons but where did this creature begin what is her beginning where did she start is it a demon is it just a symbol of something now
the first or the earliest appearance of Lilith is linked to Sumerian figure of lilitu and it's related demons from the ancient Mesopotamia religions around 3,000 BC this creature of Lilith was associated with the Knight according to Mesopotamian religion and litu and her similar entities were strongly associated with Darkness as well as they were evil in nature these Spirits or entities were considered to be evil spirits and not just in their intentions but also in their actions they were believed to bring harm to humans especially in most vulnerable situations like for example harming pregnant women and
infants now again this is Mesopotamian view on Lilith one of the specific beliefs about lilitu and related demons was their tendency to harm pregnant women and infants that could cause complications duing childbirth infant mortality and other perils associated with pregnancy and child birth in ancient times now some people believe that these belief theves arose from height rates of infant mortality and the dangers that were associated with childbirth in ancient world but you must understand is that that world was very spiritual as so is ours and a lot of times these demons that they worshiped or
that they were afraid of were actually evil spirits or these gods that they worshiped they were actually principalities another thing that Mesopotamians believed about this Lilith is that it's sexual and seductive attributes in some texts and interpretations lilitu and similar spirits to Lilith were associated with seduction and sexuality and they were sometimes depicted as seducing or luring men often leading to destructive consequences and it was also Lilith was connected to other demon figures lilitu and the group of demons related to her were often considered part of a broader group of evil entities in Mesopotamian mythology
now let's look at Lilith in Jewish folklore now the Babylonian talmud which is a central text in rinic Judaism was compiled between the 3r and the 6th centuries ad and Babylonia which is a modernday Iraq mentions Lilith as a Night Demon Lilith is identified as a spirit of the night associated with the dangers that lurk in the dark which is kind of consistent with the earlier Mesopotamian myths about this evil entity she's also associated with sudden infant death syndrome and childbirth again kind of pretty much repeats the Mesopotamian myths one of the Tet references suggests
that Lilith might be responsible for the sudden unexplained death of infants a belief that Echoes later that she is a stealer of newborns and a threat to pregnant women as well as in Babylonian talmud they would have different charms or different objects that they would use to protect themselves against Lilith again this is Jewish rinic literature they would use these objects to try to stop this attack from Lilith this practice reflects the broader ancient near Eastern religion in using objects to protect themselves from evil spirits also in Babylonia talmuth there was a belief that Lilith
LED from Adam while the talmo doesn't contain the detailed story of Lilith as Adam's first wife found in the alphabet of bener there are unique references to a first Eve who left Adam which some later sources and Scholars have connected to Lilith and this connection is not explicit in talmud itself now where this idea that Lilith was Adam's first wife really came from when it comes to Jewish literature was actually the alphabet of Ben meval Hebrew text that is attributed to Ben a Jewish scribe and a sage from Jerusalem who is traditionally identified as the
author of the wisdom of sirach which is the 8th through 10th Century text now in this alphabet of bener Lilith is depicted as Adam first wife created from the same Earth as Adam she leaves Adam because she didn't want to submit to him and was demonized for her Rebellion she's often associated with the Knight and is seen as the figure who endangers pregnant women and infants kind of reminds me of that new Amazon musical comedy that they did pretty much very similar to this alphabet of bener how she was Adam's first wife and then she
left him because she rebelled and she didn't want to be controlled by him and then married a Lucifer except Ben Shir doesn't go this far that she became the wife of Lucifer now if we go further with the Jewish writing Zohar which is the foundational work of Jewish mysticism is written in the late 13th century references Lilith now the references to Lilith in Zohar are Lilith is a demonic figure she is connected to Samuel now Samuel is this AR Angel that's associated with death and destruction not like Samuel but Samuel Lilith according to Zohar plays
in this role of cosmic struggle between good and evil and she's often depicted as attempting to undermine the spiritual Purity and Order of the universe pretty much as you're kind of following this thing it's in Mesopotamia and as well as in Jewish things she's she's a sign a symbol of rebellion in Zohar she's also depicted as a temptress leading people away from righteousness through sexual Temptation other forms of sin the Zohar and other texts discuss ways that one can protect themselves from Lilith's harmful influence so we kind of seen that in our culture she's a
symbol already and also presented as a demon through the movies and through the TV shows in Mesopotamia she was viewed as a evil spirit attacking most vulnerable in Jewish folklore she's viewed also very similarly to what what we've been seeing in Mesopotamia as well as what Amazon is kind of presenting where she was the wife of Adam and that she is the demon of the night full of rebellion now when we go into a German literature Lilith in German literature in fact in Go's F and I'm pretty sure I mispronounced that wrong one of the
most famous works of German literature Lilith is briefly mentioned in part one during the wpus night scene now fa Encounters this person who warns him about Lilith describing her as Adam's first wife so you see how they're kind of quoting the Jewish myth about Lilith being Adam's first wife and that's reappearing again in one of the most famous works in German literature she is portrayed in that literature as a seductive figure with dangerous hair that ens snares men and this author he alludes to her background as as endangering children again pretty common with Mesopotamian and
some of the Jewish myths now when it comes to English literature Lilith by George McDonald and this fantasy novel that was published in 1895 is one of the most direct uses of Lilith in English literature in McDonald's work Lilith is portrayed as a complex character with both evil and redeemable aspects the novel explores the themes of redemption death and rebirth and Lilith playing a central role in this spiritual journey the Wasteland by TS Elliot briefly mentions Lilith in a line that references her long hair and seductive powers and the poem is dense with delusions to
myth religion literature and the mention of Lilith contributes to its exploration of Despair and search of meaning whatever that supposed to mean now when it comes to Wiccan or to Witchcraft it's interesting that Lilith is often embraced as a symbol of female empowerment Independence and reclaiming of one's personal power and sexuality her story of leaving Adam due to a refusal to be submissive is seen by many as an act of defiance against the structures and the forms viewed by the society and Christians she's viewed as a symbol of empowerment she's celebrated as the figure of
strength in Witchcraft and wicker and she's seen as this person who creates resistance against oppression she's also viewed as goddess of sexuality Lilith's association with sexuality particularly in her freedom and un bashed Embrace of her sexual nature makes her a figure of sexual Liberation and power she's often invoked or honored in rituals and practices that aim to reclaim and sanctify female sexuality or heal from sexual repression or shame she's also viewed in witchcraft as dark goddess in some traditions within wika and paganism Lilith is considered the dark goddess representing the aspect of life and spirituality
that are often shunned or feared such as death and the shadow itself working with Lilith in this context involves confronting one's fear and the darker aspects of one's personality as a path to growth and Enlightenment that's how witchcraft would present her and of course Lilith is connected to Nature and Magic like many deities and spiritual figures in wiah and paganism Lilith is associated with the natural world and its Cycles as well as with magic and Witchcraft she's sometimes invoked in spells in rituals that deal with transformation protection seeking knowledge and truth but in reality she
is a feminist icon in the context of modern spirituality Lilith has been embraced by many as a feminist icon representing the struggle against the constr strains of traditional gender roles and the celebration of female agency and power her story is seen as an allegory for historical oppression of women and their Reclamation of power wow so pretty much to summarize all of that many people saw her as a spirit and a symbol what does the Bible say about this how should Christians view this and the reason why I'm presenting this is because you're going to see
more and more of that in Games Movies TV shows and the culture popular culture for a few reasons so the biblical analysis of the Lilith story Isaiah 34:14 mentions the demon Lilith as part of the scene of judgment upon Edom the word biblical commentary translates verses 134 as Thorns grew up over her fortresses Nettles and brambles inside her strongholds she became a den for Jackal an enclosure for ostriches demons met with Phantoms and a wild goat called to her companion Lilith also lived there and rested herself so the Bible does mention her as a demon
as this creature this entity and I'll refer to that in just a moment the second thing that when it comes to the Bible the Bible is very clear Lilith is not Adam's first wife Eve is Adam's first wife so this fkl and these myths that are circulating even in Jewish literature are not true in fact Paul instructs Titus to rebuke the cretans regarding Jewish fables in he says this therefore rebuke them sharply that they may be sound in faith not not giving heed to Jewish fables and the Commandments of men who turn from the truth
Titus 1314 so a lot of these things that I mentioned to you what Mesopotamians used to think and then what Jewish people started to circulate as well about Lilith Paul is pretty straightforward and he says don't give heed to Jewish fables about her being a wife of Adam or other fables that people love love to talk about now I do believe that Lilith in our culture has become the icon of radical feminism that tries to remove God's structure of authority in the family dismal patriarchal systems in all forms of life the Bible is clear Ephesians
5:22 through 24 First Timothy 21-14 that God establishes order in the house and in the church with men being the head in their houses and God puts responsibility on males in the area of government in the church Lilith being the icon on in this face of radical feminism seeks to destroy traditional gender roles today 1 Corinthians 14:34 and 35 talks about distinct gender roles in churches Titus 2: 3-5 talks about distinct gender roles in the family this radical feminism seeks to view marriage as an oppression to women when Genesis 2:24 Matthew 19 4-6 sees marriage
as a blessing to men and women and it also seeks to dismantle restrictions around sexuality whereas Hebrews 14:4 1 Corinthians 6:1 18-20 talks about purity and modesty in sexuality so I do see that Lilith in our generation now has become a social ated with an icon of radical feminism but there's another face that she has become associated with and that is rebellion Rebellion against Authority Rebellion is not a virtue according to the Bible Rebellion is a sin and it's a sin as witchcraft no wonder why a lot of times Lilith is presented as this independent
rebellious and also sorcery and Spells and Witchcraft is connected to her because that is also comes together that Rebellion is as a sin of Witchcraft but I believe Lilith is more than just a symbol in our culture it's also a spirit because Behind these ideas that I just mentioned to overthrow God to overthrow the truth to overthrow the structure that God created is nothing but the Devils demons and the Prince of Darkness the fact that Isaiah 34:14 refers to her as a night creature in Hebrew and it's Lilith some people see this as the name
of a female Night Demon sometimes also refer to as a spirit spouse it's when a demon claims you as a spouse by consent or not consent another name for it is sucubus which is to lie under from old Latin it takes the form of a woman that has sex with men or Incubus from Latin a nightmare induced by a demon and it takes a form of a male to have sex with a woman now for those of you who think oh this is very far-fetched kind of developed by the Deliverance Ministries hold on because just
like mik and baale are the names of ancient gods and they turn up in Deliverance many times I don't see why the devil wouldn't take that on as a name to show up and torment and harass people think about a lot of these other gods and Idols that people worship sacrificed to were demons and they're still demons you know those religions they passed on the demons they live on and a lot of times we see demons take on the names of either a particular deity that Nations used to worship or they take on the names
of particular tasks like for example Spirit of infirmity you know a spirit of fear a spirit of heaviness so meaning a particular tasks that they fulfill becomes their name and so there's a lot of tasks that demons fulfill that we don't even see the names of those in the Bible but the demons and the fact that they have names and they're evil and they want to harm people that is in the Bible and we see that throughout the scripture now Dr baarson views Lilith as a prototype of all feminine demonic worship he even implies that
even Jezebel is simp a form of Lilith I truly believe and have seen this firsthand during Deliverance that Lilith is an unclean spirit it's more than just a symbol it's a demon and it seems to haunt people specifically in the dreams of the night and sometimes visions of the day it could appear to men in the likeness of women and to women in the likeness of men and Lilith seems to attack people in the sexual reproductive Realm of life seems to also attack children and childbearing now for those of you who think that all of
this is far-fetched sa Augustine in the city of God has a quote there's also a very general rumor many have verified it by their own experience and trustworthy persons have corroborated The Experience others told that suven and fos commonly called incubi have often made Wicked ass assaults upon women so I don't know if St Augustine was involved in Deliverance but I know the early church practiced Deliverance the modern Church a lot of times Embraces the form of godliness denying God's power and does not look at life and the world through Supernatural lens I could see
why they could have problems with deliverance and demons especially those who've never done it and they would look in the Bible and say look Jesus didn't cast out Lilith but Jesus cast out without demons start to do what Jesus did and you will sooner or later come upon a demon that will be Lilith Jezebel and there's a bunch of many more and the point isn't to trying to figure out their name or all of that stuff the point is what I'm trying to communicate is this is the demons attack people and sometimes they take on
names and one of their names and one of the common ones that people deal with is Lilith I wouldn't be surprised why demons would attack the Sleep specifically because one of the areas the devil loves to attack is our sleep you know why onethird of your life is spent sleeping I mean it would make sense if God speaks to people through dreams the devil you you don't think the devil would try to attack people in their dreams I mean think about Samson went to sleep Delilah cut his hair away the enemy loves to attack when
we sleep through nightmares horror dreams snakes spiders appearing in the dreams it's the work of Satan and the goal is to cut away your peace and power and to really just drain you spiritually and emotionally and we have to resist that there is the parable of the tear in the weeds where the Bible says while the man slept the enemy came and S tears among the wheat and went his way Matthew 13:25 though that's not directly dealing with the Demonic attacks in sleep but one of the applications say the enemy still operates that way when
we sleep he wants to attack us the enemy loves to seow confusion the enemy loves to sow doubt fear in our minds but also I just want to give a little warning being attacked in your sleep does not mean you have a demon just like having God visit you in your sleep doesn't mean you are Christian Pharaoh's and Babylonians Kings had got visit them in the dream they were not Believers so occasional attacks or a wet dream or some kind of a sexual dream does not mean you have a demon but if these dreams are
constant and regular and all the time um you might need to seek Deliverance because that could be one of the signs that you are in need of Deliverance if you're being harassed at night there is hope for you repent of any witchcraft spells love potions or sexual dreams devote your life to Jesus declare your body that it belongs to Jesus renounce any and every inabus and succubus have somebody pray for you pray for deliverance and remember that God owns the night not the devil freedom is yours in Jesus name Psalm 915 says you shall not
be afraid of the terror by night nor of the arrow that flies by day but the fact that it says you will not be afraid of the terror By Night means some people can be afraid of Terror by night could that be a Lilith Spirit or a demon sometimes yes I don't believe always but I believe sometimes yes so to summarize all of this Lilith has become a symbol in our culture of radical feminism Rebellion witchcraft in the past in the Mesopotamian culture she was viewed as somebody who attacks the vulnerable in the Jewish extra
biblical writings and Paul told us not to pay attention to those um she was viewed as the wife of Adam and that she attacked during the night we see in Isaiah there is a mention of an evil spirit a creature of the night Lilith and we see in our culture today there's a very huge push of rebellion and this radical feminism as well as this free sexuality where really we have turned sex into a God love into a God and I believe that they take Lilith as a symbol but there is a spirit behind a
spirit of perversion and demonic Spirit of sexual immorality and we have to walk away from the doctrine of demons and also stay away from Demons by walking in Purity and loving Jesus as well as being involved in the ministry that Jesus did and that is to heal the sick cast out demons preach the good news and make disciples so thank you for staying with me for this extended video and I hope that you were encouraged enlightened and also shed some light on this controversial Topic in some Christian circles and equipped you as well to walk
