Minecraft have announced their next update. It is called the chaos cube and it introduces a brand new sulfur cave which can be found underground in the overworld. It also introduces a brand new mob which does introduce brand new mechanics to Minecraft.
The brand new sulfuric caves are filled with sulfur pools that let off gases causing nausea to the player if you stand in it too long. Now these caves can be found around the deep slate layers and do introduce brand new blocks. Minecraft also confirmed they are introducing brand new blocks which will be called sulfur blocks and cinnabar which will have their own block family like your regular blocks, slabs, walls, etc.
These will give a bright red and light yellow vibe perfect if you are a builder. The new sulfur cube introduces some of the craziest mechanics to Minecraft. This mob inhabits the sulfur caves and will collect blocks that are thrown in front of it granting the mob the physics of that block.
So for example, if it picks up ice, it will make it slippery. Iron blocks would make it heavy. Other blocks can make it bounce around like a bouncy ball.
It is going to be incredible for mini games giving players the ability to play golf, football, curling, hockey, you name it. This update will be in snapshot betas and previews very soon. It is going to be releasing in summer so do expect the full release around June of 2026.
