Dear Sony, you tried to silence me by falsely copyright claiming my videos criticizing your games. >> That's my Wolverine. >> Unfortunately for you, it has only fueled the fire in me to expose even more of your trash franchises.
PlayStation's Horizon is arguably the most AstroTurfed franchise in modern gaming. This series has allegedly sold 38 million copies, yet nobody even mentions these games in any conversation. This is because these games have absolutely zero cultural significance, yet Sony keeps burning money and shoving this garbage down our throat.
In the span of less than 10 years, we've had two mainline games, one remaster, one LEGO game, a live-action project in production, and now an upcoming co-op game where you get to play as a fat disabled lesbian. The stench of sweet baby ink is really strong with this one. The worst part is this series actually had potential.
Don't get me wrong, the first game had a lot of problems. The open-world aspect was extremely Ubisofty and repetitive. The flow of gameplay when exploring was constantly interrupted by an ungodly amount of looting where Aloy just constantly has to stop to pick [ __ ] up.
The traversal was also a janky piece of crap with this yellow paint nonsense and so heavily based on animations that Aloy would reduce her jump height and land on the lowest grapple point just for the sake of being cinematic. And of course, there was a whole lot of Sony movie game walkie-talkie sections and characters constantly spoon-feeding you information. >> There's a part missing.
Maybe there's a storage area nearby. I should try luring the behemoth into the pillars. Done.
I should check the door nearby. >> Shut your stupid >> That being said, the main concept of the game with you having to fight giant robo dinosaurs was actually innovative. The combat was genuinely the best part of the game with you tearing down these behemoths piece by piece.
But surprisingly, the writing was actually interesting, too. Learning about this world and uncovering secrets as the game went on, and doing it with an actually likable protagonist was genuinely engaging. In an era when girl bosses were beginning to be inserted into everything, Aloy was a protagonist with personal struggles that make the audience root for her.
The vast majority of those 38 million sales I mentioned earlier are of this game. Even with a lot of problems, this game built a strong foundation on which a sequel could build upon. So, 5 years later, we get Horizon Forbidden West.
While this game did make some improvements to the combat, and most notably the traversal, I mean, it's still not good, but at least you have more options now, the game became even more bloated, and the Ubisoft nature of the open world became even more prominent. It is so unbelievably boring. They introduced underwater sections, which mostly served to add more copy-paste collecting in a game that already has more looting than the original.
The hand-holding also got to a point where the protagonist won't stop talking and spoon-feeding you information, even when underwater. >> There's no use for that stone here. Our focus should be on the storm.
>> Yeah, game, you've told me about the focus vision 37 times already. But, somehow, the worst thing about the game still ended up being the story and writing. >> Ba-boom!
>> Never mind the [ __ ] plot that ditched the personal stakes and went for a random [ __ ] ghost story, where whatever nonsense the plot requires just happens, or the cringe maxing millennial writing, which was dialed up to 11 in this game. >> At least I say something of substance every once in a while. >> What was that?
I just fell asleep while you were talking. >> What they did to Aloy's character here was a straight-up crime. First, they made her manlier and fatter, because according to the devs, women can only be strong when they are like men.
This is officially confirmed by the creators, by the way. >> The developer of Horizon Zero Dawn was questioned why they made the main character so unattractive despite the professional model looking so good. The director felt that the feminine look of a professional model didn't portray the strength they wanted to demonstrate from the heroine.
So, you have to ask yourself, if you want a strong woman, why make her more manly? It's a completely redundant statement, and it gets worse. The team decided that the original model portraying Aloy looked like she would cry if she broke a nail.
Wow, a feminine woman is so weak. See how they talk about a woman when the mask slips? It continues.
By adding weight and masculinity to Aloy's face, they added the look of strength and intimidation. >> Oh, I was scared for you. >> Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, shiver me timbers.
>> These leftoid freaks making these slop games are a bunch of idiots who can't see their own hypocrisy, just like the people supporting them. They'll be quick to hurl words like misogynist at you, but in reality, they're the ones who hate women and anything feminine the most. Next, they turned her into a girl boss, and of the worst kind.
Aloy is an absolute [ __ ] to everyone around her in this game, to the point that it's genuinely insufferable. And as a final nail in the coffin, they released a DLC that made her gay. Hmm, I wonder if PlayStation has done that in the past as well.
They're 14 years old here, by the way. The Epstein class can't stop self-reporting. So, we have a fat lesbian who's a [ __ ] to everyone around her.
Y'all are not helping the stereotypes. This game barely has 1/3 of the sales of the original game, which is still too much considering what they did here. The underwhelming sales, combined with the fact that Elden Ring dropped 1 week after this game, basically wiped it from everyone's memory.
And around the same time, Sony had also announced that they were working on a TV show based on the game. Keep that in mind for a bit. So, now that their AstroTurf poster girl was once again irrelevant, Sony did what everyone else has done this entire generation and shat out a remastered version for Zero Dawn.
>> Kaboom! >> People absolutely hated this and rightfully so. The original Horizon Zero Dawn on PS4 is still one of the most visually impressive games ever made and already got a 60 FPS patch for PS5 and a PC port before this remastered.
Everyone clearly saw how lazy and unnecessary this was. Hell, people were even mad at the fact that they didn't spend resources working on a new Killzone game instead of this. Meanwhile, I was here celebrating that they didn't touch this franchise again considering how boring the last game in the franchise was and how [ __ ] and infested this company had become by this point.
Instead of doing something good, Sony had yet again burned money on this franchise, but they were not done just yet. Just a month later, they released Lego Horizon Adventures and this game bombed hard and I mean it freaking flopped. And this wasn't Lego's fault.
They have made some bangers in the past, but this was not one of them. Sony really thought that this franchise whose main selling point was being a graphics showcase was strong enough to carry a Lego game solely on the basis of brand identity. Talk about being out of touch, they really thought people cared about this series.
Speaking of series, around the same time as these two flopped products, it was also revealed that the Horizon TV series was also completely scrapped and was now going to be a movie. Specifically, it's going to be a movie that is supposedly targeting a 2027 release date and still hasn't even found a director yet. >> Are you serious right now, bro?
>> But we are still not done, my beautiful subscribers, because eight months ago, it was announced that Sony had been burning even more money on this franchise and were working on a live service game called Concord, too. And were working on a live service game called Horizon Hunters Gathering. This company just can't seem to learn their lesson.
Other than the fact that this was yet another live service game, they again had to go full-blown woke wacko mode. Nobody wants [ __ ] like fat, ugly, disabled lesbian women in their game, let alone play as them. It doesn't make them homophobic or any other stupid ass term these idiots throw around these days.
They just don't want this in their games. The only thing that deserves credit here is that they didn't disable their comment section because it was an absolute joy to watch people clown the [ __ ] out of this game. But here's the plot twist.
Somehow the backlash actually got to them and about a month ago it was announced that Horizon Concord fattening was getting rebooted. Instead of being a live service game, it is now going to be a normal co-op game. Well, well, well.
How the turntables. But you and I both know that isn't enough to save this game. Nothing is at this point.
This franchise is the perfect example of getting a good idea executed at point-blank range by a bunch of talentless hacks who only care about pushing agendas. Sony is out here closing studios like Bluepoint without a care in the world. Meanwhile, they keep dumping money into nonsense like this.
But I digress. Since they get more money to burn for projects like this because of some truly riveting shareholders, here's a humble piece of advice for you, Sony. Take all that BlackRock money you got shoved up your ass and use it to make actually good products instead of spending it on campaigns that try to silence your critics.
Thanks for watching this video, boys. After this one, I really wanted to make a video on this awesome indie game I discovered recently, but now I'll have to cover Queers of War instead since I've gotten so many comments about it. In the meanwhile, here's another video that you'll definitely enjoy, so be sure to check it out as well.
As always, subscribe and I'll see you next time.
