The Magicians that Moses faced Janice and jambres The Narrative of Pharaoh's magicians can be found in Exodus 7 and 8. when Moses and Aaron confront the Pharaoh in Egypt and demanded that he frees God's people from slavery in order to validate their message Moses and Aaron performed miracles Moses held a special place in history due to the extraordinary number and variety of miraculous Feats that were attributed to him as it is written all that Mighty power and all the great Terror which Moses performed we learned that Moses was unparalleled in the power and authority with which he led the people of Israel we are told that there has not been another Prophet like Moses to rise in Israel since that time however there have been great rulers of Israel as well as Leaders prophets and Priests but before the arrival of Jesus Christ who was known as the Messiah there was never another man who held all offices in such a glorious manner as Moses did God spoke to Moses through a burning bush and charged him to speak to Pharaoh on his behalf during the time that Moses was being commissioned God bestowed upon him the capacity to perform miracles Exodus chapter 4 verses 1 through 8. then Moses answered the Lord and said what if they will not believe me or take seriously what I say for they may say the Lord has not appear to you and the Lord said to him what is that in your hand and he said a staff then he said throw it on the ground so Moses threw it on the ground and it became a living serpent like the Royal symbol on the crown of pharaoh and Moses ran from it but the Lord said to Moses reach out your hand and grasp it by the tail so we reached out his hand and caught it and it became a staff in his hand you shall do this said the Lord so that the elders May believe that the Lord the god of their fathers the god of Abraham the god of Isaac and the god of Jacob has most certainly appeared to you the Lord also said to him put your hand into your robe where it covers your chest so he put his hand into his robe and when he took it out his hand was leprous as white as snow then God said put your hand into your robe again so he put his hand back into his robe and when he took it out it was restored and was like the rest of his body if they will not believe you or pay attention to the evidence of the first sign they may believe the evidence of the second sign even with the Miracles of Moses he faced the opposition of Janice and jambres God gave Moses and Aaron the instructional chauffeur was signed at the first encounter with a king by hurling Aaron's staff to the ground God was aware that Pharaoh would demand a sign after Aaron did so the staff in his hand transformed into a snake the Pharaoh wasted no time in calling for his magicians each of them was able to transform their own staff into serpents Aaron's snake ate the snakes that were being used by The Magicians which must have been interpreted as an ominous warning for Pharaoh's Court Exodus chapter 7 verses 8-13 now the Lord said to Moses and Aaron when Pharaoh says to you work a miracle to prove your Authority then you say to Aaron take your staff and throw it down before Pharaoh so that it may become a serpent so Moses and Aaron came to pharaoh and did just as the Lord had commanded Aaron threw down his staff before pharaoh and his servants and it became a serpent then Pharaoh called for the wise man skilled in Magic annulment and the sorcerers skilled in witchcraft and they also these soothsayers Priests of Egypt did the same with their secret arts and enchantments for every man threw down his staff and they turned into serpents but Aaron's staff swallowed up their staffs yet Farrell's heart was hardened and he would not listen to them just as the Lord had said Pharaoh's magicians were successful in performing Miracles twice more matching the signs that Moses and Aaron had shown them the first plague that Moses called down upon the Egyptians was a plague of Blood The Magicians were also able to turn water to blood as Moses had done to the Nile River Exodus chapter 7 verses 19 through 22 then the Lord said to Moses say to Aaron take your staff and stretch out your hand over the Waters of Egypt over their rivers over their streams over their pools and over all the reservoirs of water so that they may become blood and there shall be blood throughout all the land of Egypt in containers both of wood and of stone so Moses and Aaron did as the Lord commanded Aaron lifted up the staff and struck the waters in the Nile in the sight of pharaoh and in the sight of his servants and all the water that was in the Nile was turned into blood the fish in the Nile died and the river became foul smelling and the Egyptians could not drink its water and there was a blood through it all the land of Egypt but The Magicians of Egypt did the Same by their secret arts and enchantments so Pharaoh's heart was hardened he did not listen to Moses and Aaron just as the Lord had said this is great foolishness here on the part of The Magicians the plagues were cursed from God rather than an attempt to even reverse the curse they decided to turn more water into blood they also added to the curse of their people such is the way of the dark arts their aim was not to alleviate the Troubles of the people of Egypt the evil one was trying to show significance rather than help those under him it was a demented way of thinking and alas they did nothing to help their people the second plague that was visited upon the Egyptian people was a swarm of frogs and The Magicians added to the problem by Conjuring their own frogs rather than finding a solution to it this made the situation even worse Exodus chapter 8 verses 5 through 7.
then the Lord said to Moses say to Aaron stretch on your hand with your staff over the rivers over the streams and canals over the pools among the Reeds and make frogs come upon the land of Egypt so Aaron stretched out his head with his staff over the Waters of Egypt and the frogs came up and covered the land of Egypt but The Magicians suits air priests did the same thing with their secret arts and enchantments and brought up more frogs on the land of Egypt after this however the magician's Authority stopped as they could not reproduce any further plagues and they admitted they were witnessing the Finger of God in Moses signs Exodus chapter 8 verse 19. then the magician said to pharaoh this is the supernatural Finger of God but Farrell's heart was heartened and he would not listen to them just as the Lord had said Satan had given veryl's magicians the power to duplicate some of the signs God performed through Moses and Aaron so how were the Egyptian magicians ever able to pull off these incredible Feats in the first place although not as powerful as God Satan formerly one of God's highest angels has the power to deceive emulate Miracles and even tell the future with a certain degree of accuracy Acts chapter 16 verse 16. it happened that as we were on our way to the place of Prayer we were met by a slave girl who had a spirit of divination that is a demonic Spirit claiming to foretell the future and discover hidden knowledge and she brought her owners a good Prophet by fortune telling the might of God was eventually successful in foiling the Egyptian sorcerer's plans they were not successful in calling forth gnats the strength of God is vast enough to easily overcome the force of Satan Exodus chapter 8 verses 16 through 19.
then the Lord said to Moses say to Aaron stretch onto your staff and strike the dust to the ground and it will become biting gnats lice throughout the land of Egypt they did so Aaron's stretched out his hand with his staff and struck the dust of the Earth and there were biting gnats on man and animal all the dust of the land became gnats throughout all the land of Egypt The Magicians soothsayer priests Tried by their secret arts and enchantments to create gnats but they could not and there were gnats on man and animal then the magician said to Pharaoh this is the supernatural Finger of God but Pharaoh's heart was heartened and he would not listen to them just as the Lord had said the ability to do Miracles by the power of darkness and the willingness to receive them as authentic will characterize the end times Revelation chapter 13 verses 13 through 15. he performs Great Signs awe-inspiring acts even making fire fall from the sky to the Earth right before people's eyes deceives those unconverted ones who inhabit the earth into believing him because of the signs which he is given by Satan to perform in the presence of the first Beast telling those who inhabit the Earth to make an image to the Beast who was wounded fatally By The Sword and has come back to life and he has given power to give breath to the image of the Beast so that the image of the Beast will even appear to speak and cause those who do not Bow Down and Worship the image of the Beast to be put to death Paul examines these particular men when discussing the markers of the last days second Timothy chapter 3 verses 1 through 9. but know this that in the last days perilous times will come for men will be lovers of themselves lovers of money [Music] proud blasphemers disobedient to parents unthankful Unholy unloving unforgiving slanderers without self-control brutal despisers of good traitors Headstrong hottie lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God having a form of godliness but denying its power and from such people turn away from this sword for those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins LED Away by various lusts always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth now with Janice and Jammers resisted Moses so do these also resist the truth men of corrupt Minds this approved concerning the faith but they will progress no further for their Folly will be manifest to all as theirs also was Janna's in damers had in common with the false teachers at Ephesus was that they also stood against the truth had depraved minds and were rejected as far as the faith is concerned interestingly the names of Jenna's and jambres are not mentioned in the Old Testament still it is understood that they were to the chief Egyptian magicians who Pharaoh called in to mimic the Miracles performed by Moses even as Janice and Jammers were eventually put to shame though for a while they matched Moses miracle for miracle and were eventually compelled to give reluctant glory to God so will the evil men of the last days even as Janice and jabra's power had boundaries so it is Satan's Authority even in the last days God is still in control there is hope triumphant hope in Jesus during the time of Paul he wrote about how Miracles or at least apparent Miracles are part of Satan's Arsenal Paul later wrote 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 verses 9 through 10.
the coming of the Lawless one is according to the working of Satan with all power signs and lying wonders and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish because they did not receive the love of the truth that they might be saved therefore Miracles can be used to prove something is Supernatural but they cannot be used to prove something is true these Egyptian magicians were intelligent learned men however Paul observed that they did not have the wisdom that comes from God some of us are amazed by any real spiritual power although carefully considering that a real power may have a Sinister Source instead of a Godly one and even if a new power seems to have the answers we've been looking for we must not be seduced by it because demonic forces can come masquerading as angels of life second Corinthians chapter 11 verse 15.
