[Music] welcome back crime is on the rise in Montgomery County that's according to the latest reports given to the County's Public Safety Committee it found several types of crimes saw dramatic increases compared to last year most notably violent crimes saw a 13 increase so far this year officials say assaults and robberies and sex offenses are all up however homicides are actually down 36 percent compared to 2021 officials say gun violence continues to be a major problem one of the more sobering pieces of data was that a total of 918 guns were covered by the police
