The Real Reason Your English Speaking Skills Never Improve (And How to Finally Fix It)

have you ever reached a point that you've try study practice you know every single day to improve your English speaking skills but it feels like you're not getting better your pronunciation doesn't seem to improve you cannot express yourself the way that you want yet and it's just frustrating and discouraging and you're just like tired of this feeling because you know you've been trying and it just doesn't feel that it's working maybe sometimes you even thought about giving up and I completely understand you because I was in the same position that you are right now I

give up maybe five times before I reach the level of English that I have right now you know I spent weeks and months doing the wrong things and I know exactly how you feel and I'm literally making this video for a younger version of myself so in this video I'm going to share with you why it seems like you're doing the right thing but your speaking skills doesn't seem to improve you know I've been through the same struggles and I want to share with you what I should have done back then so you don't make

the same mistakes that I did now let's talk about comfort zone comfort zone is a topic that is almost impossible to avoid you know and it might be holding you back without you even realizing it you know this is a place where you feel amazing you feel comfortable you know you might be talking about topics that you know that you're going to be able to talk about you only speak with people that you feel comfortable around maybe you're not even talking with anyone so it's like easy to be in that comfort zone it's easy because

you don't feel awkward you don't feel uncomfortable but it's a danger D Zone it's a danger zone to be in you don't have to take risks you don't have to feel awkward to be awkward so it's easy to be in that comfort zone but that comfort zone it's like I said dangerous and like I said the problem with the comfort zone is that you never grow you never go you stay there forever you never learn new words you never know how to express yourself better with complex ideas you never actually get out of that bubble

that you are in to actually improve and be a better person and be a better speaker it's like going to the gym and lifting the same weight over and over again every single day at some point you stop gettinger this is not a secret to anyone what I'm going to talk about right now but to break free of that comfort you got to force your out you got to force yourself out of that comfort zone so you got to embrace being uncomfortable so you got to be comfortable being uncomfortable so you got to put yourself

in situations that you know you're going to feel awkward that you know you're going to feel uncomfortable that is the only way you're going to break free from that zone from that bobo take me for example like before I started this channel I was even worker than I am right now you know and I never thought that I would be able to speak with a camera before I was an introvert I still am but I was even worse you know and when I decided to start this channel to help people I never thought that you

know I would be able to talk to a camera I never thought that I would be able to do this and once I overcame this fear once I embraced situation once I you know was okay feeling awkward feeling you know uncomfortable that's the only way that I was able to actually come here and record videos to help people and like every video I feel like that I'm getting better and I'm going to improve as we go along in this journey and it's the same thing for you the only way that you're going to be more

skilled the only way that you're going to speak better is embracing those situations that you feel uncomfortable and you will become a better speaker a more confident speaker that is the only way because you have to understand that if you want to learn English a part of your brain already understands that at some point you're going to have to build connections you're going to have to like go out there and speak with people because nobody learns a language to keep for themselves I know there's some people want to get their own approval first no they

got to make sure that the English is perfect before they go out there and start to speak with everyone you just have to understand that it's part of the human brain to feel that you're not good enough especially when you are around people that you know better than you at something like English that is where fear comes from they're going to judge me they're going to reject me it's like the same thing when a guy triy to approach a girl you know the guy puts the girl you know on a pedestal you know she is

superior to him that's why guys have this fear of talking to girls because you know they put girls on a pedestal so it's almost impossible to feel good about yourself going out there and approaching girls so it's the same thing with English learning so when you put someone on a B so because you know that they're speaking English better than you you just you're just going to feel like weird and uncomfortable when you talk to that person you wouldn't be as nervous talking to someone that you knew didn't know English B than you because you

know they are not better than you so you're not going to put them on a bad store so this is how it works and this is exactly the next Point emotional blocks so learning a new language is not about practicing you know pronunciation learn new words all the time you got to understand your fears you know you got to understand what makes you uncomfortable what makes you awkward and try to overcome them because those things can actually hold you back so maybe you're afraid of making mistakes maybe you're afraid of your acction you know maybe

you're afraid that people going to judge you people going to make fun of you and you doubt yourself every time you try to talk and it's like if you are stuck in that mindset forever if you never get out it's like you're never going to be able to improve because you're never going to be able to make me mistakes to actually get better you're not going to have a chance to learn from your mistakes so you're never going to be able to you know get out of the situation that bubble and the only way to

deal with emotional blocks is acknowledging them and that way you're going to be able to deal with that problem because if you just put aside and you just don't do anything about it you know what going to happen just going to grow and grow and grow and it's going to get worse over time so once you know you can figure it out exactly you know in what ways you can deal with with that you know maybe it's meditation affirmations maybe even like find someone that is really really supportive and that is not going to criticize

you you know as much as you think you would get criticized if you go out there and speak with someone that you don't know the key is not to let this fears and insecurities stop you to you know actually go out there and speak because they're going to hold you back and here's the thing you have to realize that actually in reality nobody cares about you nobody cares about about you nobody is going to you know care too much about it maybe maybe at some point in your life you're going to you know get criticized

for it maybe at some point someone's going to make fun of you and that happened to me you know and it's just meaningless you know it's just like one or two or three minutes and then everyone forgets about it and they start to deal with their own problems again you know everybody's in their own head and if even if you go out there and you have an accent you speak you know your mind you know people are going to you know just admire you for that and the reality is that most people are going to

support you more than they're going to judge you that's the reality maybe some people out there the more you show yourself the more you go out there you know the more the people going to know you and the percentage of people that are going to judge you are going to increase but that's okay because the percentage of people that are going to support you and going to enjoy your presence and it's going to make sure that you have a great time even though you might have an accent even though you might make mistakes are you

going toe C too and the best thing to do is just even if you can't control even if you you're going to feel that way regardless so you might as well just go for it anyway that's the only way that you can overcome that then you realized that everything was in your head all the time and you just wasted your time wasted you know because it was just so meaningless to care about that now this is a very important topic that I wish I would have done back then because this is very important so pay

attention the drop of passive learning is really dangerous that happens when you spend too much times watching YouTube videos you know podcasts and all these things even reading but you never actually go out there or maybe even speak with yourself you never do anything about it you just passive learn you're not actively using the language so it feels like learning but you're not actually doing anything to improve your speaking skills to improve your output skills so that way it's really hard to see real Improvement take a like trying to learn a instrument try to learn

to play an instrument if you never actually pick up the instrument and actually start playing it you're not going to improve you're not going to learn it you know you can watch all the best videos on YouTube about how to play a guitar but if you don't actually pick up a guitar and actually start playing it you're never going to you're never going to be able to play the instrument so the more you go out there and you practice you know even with yourself the more you're going to get better you got to constantly practice

speak out loud you know the more conversations you have the more you know you go out there and you talk the more you're going to get better the more you're going to see Improvement now this is really important nowadays we have all this content to consume and if you don't be careful you're going to put yourself in a trap that is going to be really hard for you to get out of when you watch content related to the problem that you have it triggers something in your brain that is just the same feeling that you

would feel if you accomplish that thing so when you actually go out there and you watch those videos and you consume that content and you learn new information it feels like you are solving that problem without even doing anything but the reality you're not it's the same thing when you have a goal in your life and you tell a person about that goal they say hey good for you you're going to accomplish that and it almost feels like you've achieved that goal already but you didn't therefore you're going to take less action to actually achieve

that goal so when you share your goal with people especially with the wrong people you brain my experience a dopamine release that is similar to the dopamine that you would feel if you actually achieve that goal this is called social reality so be careful to not get yourself into a loop of you know watching content after content thinking that you are solving a problem you know without doing anything and be careful telling your goals to the wrong person or to a lot of people because that is going to release a lot of damin to your

brain and it's going to feel like you're achieving that goal but you're actually not you're tricking your brain to you know believe that you're improving that you're making progress but in reality you're not and I'm not saying that you cannot consume content that is wrong the only thing that I'm saying is that you cannot only consume content you have to go out there and take action you have no idea how many times I made this mistake of telling people my goals watch content after content without doing anything you know tricking my brain to believe that

I was actually doing something but I was not and this is not only for English learning with any goal that you have any you know problem that you want to solve make sure that you don't do that so these are three points that I really believe that are holding you back and that you can work on it to actually fix this problem make sure that your comfort zone is not holding you back and make sure that you are forcing yourself out of it otherwise you're going to get stuck there forever emotional blocks make sure that

you work on it meditate you know affirmations they're going to help you you got to understand your fears you got to go out there and do it anyway no matter what and the Trap of passive learning make sure that you're not consuming content over and over again without doing anything you got to go out there and take action watch one video make sure that you know exactly what to do go out there and take a little tiny action remember to Compound Effect it's going to help you a lot you don't need to go out there

and take a Massive Action out of nowhere you don't need that go out there and take a little action but never watch content after content without doing anything you're going to trick your bin to believe that you're doing something but in reality you're not doing anything you're going to be stuck in the same place forever especially when you tell goals to another person especially for the one person so make sure that you don't tell goals to a lot of people that way you're going to save yourself from a lot of stress I have a free
