hey everyone welcome back in this video we are going to discuss about the removal strategy of closest location in Odo 17 inventory module this strategy prioritizes of the picking of the items that are in the closest location in the warehouse let's say we have just received an order for acoustic block screen with 21 quantity and we know a warehouse is a large area so it will have uh multiple shells or multiple racks so when you just receive an order from the customer as we have just configured the removal strategy as closest location or will search
for the locations that are arranged in alphabetic order no matter the quantity that is available in the other location so or will just search with the um yeah locations in the alphabetic order and will pick from the item that are closest location and will just validate the process like they will just validate with the delivery so closer location removal strategy is used in a case of the products are not perishable which means when we do not consider the age of the product we can just use the uh closest location and this also allows to just
reduce the travel distance of the worker so let's see the functionality of closest location in Odo 17 inventory module for that you can just dive into the inventory module so to manage with the removal strategy of closest location let's head into the configurations settings because we need to enable certain feature from the configuration settings such as the multi-step route as well as the storage location so storage location would allow us to manage with the locations in your warehouses so that we can track the product as well as the multistep roots allows to use the uh
Roots um in the warehouses so afterwards let's move on to the configuration menu to manage with the uh locations of the warehouses so our warehouse has different location such as shelf 1 shelf 2 and shelf 3 here we have just received an order from customer for aestic block screen with 21 quantity but we don't have all these 21 quantity in single place so in such case as we have set the removal strategy of closest location Odo will search for the products that are in near or with the closest location so here you can find we
have just created different shells um in the warehouse of wh stock you can just find each of the locations and we have set the removal strategy as closest location so uh do not forget to set the removal strategy under the uh locations um so here we go with all the removal strategy in all the locations now we are going to manage with the product aquastic block screen where you can find that currently the product is zero now we need to update the quantities in each of the stock um which means in each of the shells
of the warehouse so for that you can just click on update quantity where you can just create uh the stocks so here you can see the currently the default location is wh stock so I'll be choosing wh stock um shelf one as one of my location where it has five quantity and later on you can save that and we need to update the quantity in in shelf 2 where it has uh uh 15 quantity later on we also need to update uh the product in shelf 3 so let's update that so here you can choose
the shelf of the warehouse with um yeah 15 quantities uh itself so let's save this now let's imagine that we have just received an order from the customer decoct so here as we have just updated the quantity you can see that uh we have 35 on hand um of aquisticsoul screen here we have just received an order from the customer for 21 quantity of aquastic block screen so let me proceed with my order so that you can just confirm and let's try to make the delivery of the item to the customer so before the delivery
of the item as you just click on the hand Burger icon you can see that the um product is picked from shelf one shelf 2 and shelf three this is because we don't have sufficient quantity in one shelf of the warehouse so in such cases Odo will search for the closest location in order to pick all the items together so here here you can see um only five quantity were there in shelf one so all those five quantity will be picked and in shelf two we have uh 15 quantity Al together so that that 15
quantity is taken and from shelf three one quantity is taken and ALT together we know uh we have just uh received a demand of 21 quantity of aquisticsoul make the delivery of the item to the customer so you can just click on validate so we have just 10 with the delivery of the item to the customer so closest location cannot be used in a case of uh the product age is a matter or we require particular quantity from a specific location itself so hope this video clarifies your doubt on how to use the removal strategy
