his terms showed that the Eisley magic could Thrive even outside the group meanwhile the eisy brothers carried on but fac their own challenges o Kelly the eldest of the group passed away in 1986 his death was a heavy blow but Ronald and Rudy carried on as a Duo for a time Rudy eventually decided to leave in 1989 to follow a spiritual calling choosing to become a Christian minister father I pring the for many fans it was bittersweet losing one of the group's iconic voices but knowing Rudy had found a purpose that gave him peace not
one to let the eisy brothers Legacy fade Ronald eisy brought the group back in 1991 this time he was joined By Ernie and Marvin two of the younger brothers who had been integral to the group sound in the 1970s and 1980s together they reignited the eisy brothers flame but their Journey was far from smooth Marvin who had struggled with health is issues related to diabetes left the group in 1996 and passed away in 2010 despite the Heartbreak Ronald and Ernie pressed on determined to keep the eisy brothers music alive Ronald in particular had his share
of personal struggles at the height of his career he seemed to have it all wealth luxurious homes and a lifestyle that many could only dream of but extravagant spending and financial mismanagement began to take their toll Ronald Eisley ended up in jail in 2006 at the age of 16 5 he was found guilty of five counts of tax evasion and one count of not filing a tax return his lawyer Anthony Alexander argued for probation instead of jail time citing Ron's age and health issues Alexander mentioned that Ron had been trying to pay off his debts
to the IRS by selling some of his assets however US District Judge Dean prisy was not convinced and refused to show leniency the judge labeled Ron a Serial tax avoider and sentenced him to 3 years in prison prosecutors h highlighted that Ron had dodged taxes for decades even declaring bankruptcy in 1997 after the IRS seized his yacht cars and other properties despite these setbacks Ron failed to file tax returns from 1997 to 2001 when he finally submitted them in 2002 they were unsigned and he didn't pay what he owed his lawyer attributed some of the
mishandling to the unfortunate deaths of two of Ron's accountants which made it difficult to access necessary records reflecting on his time in prison Ron described it as a challenging period but said he managed to see his son and wife regularly helping him COPE in addition to his prison sentence the R&B Legend was ordered to pay $3.1 million in back taxes to the IRS some fans believe Ronald's financial troubles contributed to the band's tough times including the deaths of key members such as his brother o Kelly o' Kelly eisy a founding member of the iy brothers
was born on December 25th 1937 in Cincinnati Ohio known as Kelly he began singing in church with his brothers Rudy and Ronald forming the eisy brothers in 1959 despite personal hardships the group transitioned from gospel to rhythm and blues signing with RCA Victor that same year they co-wrote their breakout hit shout a song that became a cultural staple the eisy brothers performed it on shows like American band Stan and shindig and it was later covered by artists such as Lulu in 1964 and David Ruffin in 1998 the song also featured prominently in films like National
Lampoon animal house after o' Kelly's death in 1986 his brother Rudy left the group to become a pastor marking another turning point for the band despite his departure the Eisley brothers continued to thrive recording and Performing for decades and reaching new generations of fans o' Kelly who was also a father of two left a lasting Legacy in 1992 he was postumus inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with Little Richard presenting the honor the group also earned recognition from the vocal group Hall of Fame in 2003 and in 2014 they received a Grammy
for lifetime achievement in 2020 they were inducted into the songwriters Hall of Fame for their contributions to over 35 classic songs if the tax troubles weren't enough Ron also faced tension within his own family in 2021 his brother Rudy sued him claiming Ron had taken control of the Eisley brothers trademark without consulting him imagine building a legacy together only to end up fighting over the rights to your own name Rudolph sued Ronald asking a judge to declare that the trademark rights to the name the eisy brothers were equally owned by both of them he also
demanded that Ronald explain how he had been using the trademark and share any Revenue made from it according to legal documents obtained by TMZ Rudolph claimed that Ronald had applied for and received approval for the trademark in his own name keeping all the profits for himself Rudolph argued that since their brother O Kelly's passing in 1986 they had always shared profits equally with both of them holding ownership in the band more recently Rudolph alleged that Ronald made decisions on his own without consulting him he claimed Ronald underhandedly obtained sole ownership of the eizy brothers trademark
and had been receiving all the money since 2021 the court documents revealed that Ronald secured exclusive rights to the iy brothers trademark for visual and audiovisual recordings featuring music and animation in August Rudolph insisted should have sought his approval for this deal he also pointed out that Ronald filed the trademark application in his own name in November 2021 despite their previous joint profit sharing Arrangements such as a multi-million dollar publishing deal as a result Rudolph asked the court to order a financial audit to determine how much Ronald had earned since making these changes perhaps Rudolph
was hearing Footsteps in the dark prompting him to take such actions against his brother Rudolph also wanted the court to officially declare that the eisy brothers trademark is jointly owned by both brothers and that Ronald should share half of the earnings made from using the band's name since acquiring the trademark while the full details of their dispute aren't entirely clear it remains a sad chapter in their relationship tragedy struck the family again with the sudden passing of Rudolph in 2023 at the age of 84 Rudolph Eisley a founding member of the Eisley brothers has died
he was 84 years old the Eisley brothers shared the heartbreaking news on social media stating Heaven has gained another Angel A source told TMZ e that Rudy may have suffered a heart attack but the exact cause of death remains unknown Ronald iy expressed his grief saying there are no words to express my feelings and the love I have for my brother our family will miss him but I know he's in a better place he died in his sleep his brother Ernie said adding that he was unaware of any health issues his brother might have had
Rudy spent much of his three decades with the eisy brothers harmonizing with his brother o' Kelly in support of Ron eisley's lead vocals but he also sang lead on some notable tracks on I've got to get myself together recorded in 1969 his gentlemanly tone gave the song A Touch of Grace he also lent a swaave lead to the group's fleeting entry into the Disco field it's a disco night Rock don't stop which was a club hit in the United States in 1979 and reached the top 20 in Britain the eisy brothers were always fashionable and
in the 19 70s and 80s Rudy isy made a fashion statement of his own by wearing hats and Furs and carrying a bed cane giving the E's added Panache despite these hardships Ron has persevered through immense challenges and pain continuing to focus on his music family and Legacy according to celebrity Networth his hard work has earned him a net worth of $2 million Ronald has three children tranisha Tiana and Ron Jr who keep a low profile particularly in the age of social media on the personal front Ronald is married to Candy Isley a singer and
member of the R&B Duo the Johnson sisters while his children stay out of the spotlight his niece Alex eisy has been making waves in the music world Alex the daughter of Ernie Eisley has carried on the family tradition becoming a successful R&B artist she released her debut ep the love art Memoirs in 2012 performed on NPR's tiny desk Series in 2020 and collaborated on an album with Jack Dy in 2022 anyway looking back it's astonishing how much the eisy brothers achieved they've influenced everyone from the Beatles to Ice Cube and built a catalog of music
that feels like a soundtrack to life itself whether it's the slow jams that set the mood between the sheets anyone or the upbeat tracks that make you want to dance this Old Heart of Mine their music speaks to the heart and soul and yet despite their massive impact the eisy brothers don't always get the recognition they deserve maybe it's because they didn't have that one Mega crossover hit or maybe maybe it's because their success Spann decades making it harder to pinpoint just one moment but true fans know the depth of their influence they didn't just
create music they created movements inspired generations and kept evolving no matter what the industry threw at them through it all the highs the lows the betrayals and the Heartbreak the Eisley brothers remain Legends their music has stood the test of time and so has Ron Eisley anyway that's it for this video folks bye [Music]
