Talking about films – A2 English Listening Test

well i guess my favorite kind of movie is sci-fi if i'm at home in the evening and i want to watch a film that's the first kind of film i will look for i think those films are imaginative and interesting however there are some terrible sci-fi films out there but even the terrible ones are funny sometimes rom-coms uh no i don't watch those unless i have to my girlfriend loves them and sometimes i watch them if we're having a romantic evening at home but they are so boring and predictable the characters are always the same

they are really funny i like horror films though they are predictable i know but i just enjoy them i often watch them with friends and we try to guess what's going to happen so it's always sociable it's also interesting to discuss how they did the special effects and horrible makeup i used to think horror films were scary but now i don't i love animated films too all kinds from japanese anime to children's cartoons i think the japanese style films are really beautiful creative and imaginative the stories are strange but the artwork is beautiful and some

children's cartoons are really funny i watch them with my little cousin there is something for everyone kids and adults i used to love action films but i don't think modern action films are as good as the ones in the past before they were big budget blockbuster films they were set in amazing locations and the stunts were incredible now they are often low budget with lots of computer graphics they just aren't as exciting i don't often watch documentaries i suppose in the evenings i don't want to learn i want to relax and many documentaries are depressing

they tell you about all the things that are bad in the world it's important information but those kinds of films aren't very enjoyable and musicals i hate them i can't understand why people are talking and then they start singing of course musicals aren't very popular now like they were in the past and that's a good thing my girlfriend loves them but luckily she prefers to watch them with her friends and they sing along together i don't have to watch
