Hello, hello, hello! We begin the sixth week of this incredible quarter that we are studying about the book of John. That's right and we are already entering the month of November, the penultimate month before the end of this year.
How has your year been? Have you completed those things you were dreaming of, wanting? Not yet?
Well, then we have a few more days to try to keep our promises. Do so, come to the lesson and here you will discover that in John we are going to study this week, John, chapter 9 and chapter 10. Is that ok?
So, before you start studying, read chapters 9 and chapter 10. Okay? Before I forget.
I want to thank the people at Summit there, the people at Igreja do Country in Cascavel who gave me this beautiful t-shirt. May God bless you. A fierce, fierce, fierce crowd.
It is fine? Thank you very much! Thanks for the t-shirt!
Healing a blind man. I'm going to give you an idea of this story about the blind man in points so you can understand. So let's go.
. . In chapter 9 from verse 1 to verse 7, we have the miracle, the miracle itself, how it happened.
Beauty. Then we have a man interrogated by his neighbors. Then we have the man questioned by the Pharisees.
Then we have the parents who were interrogated, then we have the man interrogated again. Then we have the man's search for Jesus. And then, the meaning of the miracle.
Basically, these are the points that we are going to analyze or this story is divided into these questions that we just talked about. So, just remembering that we talked last week, at the beginning of last week. The first chapters of the book of John seem like everything is beautiful, wonderful.
Jesus goes to the wedding party, look, he performed a beautiful miracle. Nicodemus looks for him. Wow, how cool Jesus is!
How simple and easy is it? From chapter 6. 7 onwards, more or less , the confusions begin to appear.
Basically why? Jesus performs the miracle, the problem is not the miracle. The problem is that He performs the miracle and He says: Your sins are forgiven.
But Jesus, He was looked upon by the Jews, not as God, as a man. So this would be an insult. Then Jesus now increases the tension and says: And I forgive sins because I am one with the Father, I am with the Father.
He was and He said: I am God himself. And then the Jews said: No, no. There, but there's no way.
So, as early as two chapters ago in the book of John, the people were already looking for a reason to kill Jesus. So it's important that in everything we study this week, we always have this background of this tension, this persecution, this inquisition. Ask the comrade who was cured.
Question for parents. Understand, why? Because they wanted to somehow find Jesus' weak point.
Because their intention from the beginning was to kill Jesus. Which ended up happening. But at this moment they are still trying to find a strategy to kill Jesus.
So that's it folks! We are starting our week, tomorrow we continue.
