hello everyone and welcome back to my channel and I know it's been a very long time since I uploaded a video and so if you're watching this and you've been a longtime subscriber thank you but what I wanted to do today is I wanted to explain to you why I always eat last or at least I try to and why you should consider eating last as well and so let me explain to you what I mean by this one of the things that I love to do is I love to read books every now and
then and a book that I've been reading lately is called Leaders Eat Last by Simon in syic the title of this book is very intriguing and it caught my attention and so I was curious about what the book was about and so I picked it up and I opened up the book and I read the forward and this forward was written by a Marine General and this is what he wrote and that forward when you are with Marines Gathering to eat you will notice that the most Junior are served first and the most senior are
served last and at the heart of this very simple action is the Marine Corps approach to leadership Marine leaders are expected to eat less because the true price of leadership is the willingness to place the needs of others above your own great leaders truly care about those they are privileged to lead and understand that the true cost of the leadership privilege comes at the expense of self interest it's pretty good and this quote really resonated with me because in every area of life if you think about it we're all taught to look after ourselves first
right pay yourself first feed yourself first make sure that your needs are taken care of but what this Marine General is saying is that leadership is the complete opposite a leader looks to the needs of others before their own and so a leader is willing to give their food and their drink and their resources to the people that they love so that they can live and so that they can Thrive even if it means that they have to eat a little less and so that was a good reminder to me that being a leader it's
more than a title or a position but being a leader leer is more about an attitude and a posture of the heart and the mind and the will and in John Chapter 13 Jesus did something unimaginable what he did was he took on the posture and he took on the role of a feet washer and the reason why that was so Unthinkable is because now the master has taken on the role of a servant and the reason why he washed his disciples feet was to be an example of what it means to be a servant
leader he showed what what it means to put the needs of others before his own by getting on his knees and washing the disciples feet and the reason why he did that is because he says this in the scriptures when he says I came not to be served but I came to serve and to give my life as a ransom for many and this is what Jesus is teaching us he's saying that you are no leader until you become a servant servant leaders know how to kneel servant leaders always put the needs of others before
for their own in other words Leaders Eat Last and that is one of the many reasons why I try by the grace of God to always eat last and it is my hope and is my encouragement to you as well that you would also eat last hey I hope you enjoyed this video I hope you learned a lot uh take care God bless and I'll see you hopefully not too far in the distant future thank you see you [Music] hello everyone if you have made it this far here is the corny joke of the day
