hey guys you all wanted longer videos for the prayer Bibles this is my attempt at doing that if at any point you have more questions you can leave it in the comment section or you can DM me on Instagram @ sway sisters so the first thing that you're going to need is a Bible you can pick whichever Bible you like when it's for a personal friend I prefer to have a journaling Bible so whether that's a single column journaling Bible or an inter leave Bible it doesn't make a difference just room to write a little
prayer on the side I'm also going to be using a journal kit so I sell these on my website they come in all different colors you can get one that matches your Bible it's got highlighters pens bookmarks the page flags that you'll need to flag your Bible and some sticky notes so let's get in one of the things that I love to have handy when I am working on the bike is I like to use little devotional books often this just gets my brain kick started once I get into the Rhythm then the rest falls
into place but most of the time I need a little kick in the rear so this is one that I was gifted Prayers and Promises for mothers it has lots of scripture in it and it's all divided by topics book resources are great another great resource that I love is the Thompson Chain reference Bible now this Bible is really cool I've done some stories on Instagram about it and what it does is for every scripture on the margin it will have topics if you will for instance God's judgment Divine leader Red Sea it also puts
people and places in here too so that you can follow the chain of that person throughout the whole Bible in the back is where all of your indexes are every topic is numbered and then you find that number in the back and it will give you all the scripture that is referenced in that topic G I like to think that Jesus's peace is always with me when I'm reading my Bible and that his creatures feel that and that is why they don't leave me alone when when I'm doing things please jump down thank you so
Thompson Chain reference Bible is an amazing resource I could get lost for hours in this thing the other resource that I really love to use is Google again this is a lot my memory is not that great so if I'm looking for scriptures on strength sure I know there's a lot of scriptures on strength but I don't remember where they are I might remember there's a lot in Isaiah or there's a lot in Philippians but short of going and reading reading through the whole thing and flagging all the strength and then going back and flagging
all my next topic I like to rely on Google so I will say this when I Google things most of the time they will bring up scripture where that word is used that doesn't necessarily mean that that's a good scripture to choose so read it if the scripture speaks into whom you are praying for into their lives or their situation put it down those lists on Google are are also not all inclusive you might be doing your morning reading and find something that wasn't on there my point is Google is an amazing resource but don't
walk into it blindly allow God to really speak to your heart this is more than just copying and pasting into your Bible for me it's very cathartic especially when I'm praying for somebody it allows me to Bear a burden when otherwise I wouldn't be able to do anything like practically in in real life say the have all the meals that they need they don't need any more rides this Devotion to prayer is is kind of like a prayer in fast it's like I sacrifice my personal time but it doesn't feel like a sacrifice because I'm
I'm like really I really love doing this with that said other things throughout your day can be references if you're on Instagram and you follow a lot of people who post scripture and things like that you can snag those little verses and categorize them in your brain and when you get to your Bible you flag it also songs a lot of Christian worship songs are very straight from the Bible they're just singing the verses from the Bible that's really helpful if you know the verses from the Bible but you cannot they obviously they're not singing
a song where they're like where does My Hope come from My Hope comes from the Lord Psalm 121 but you know the words just put it in Google and then use the word scripture after it so it's like my help comes from the Lord scripture and it'll tell you Psalm 1212 or something so being aware of those things that come up throughout your day your Church sermon can be a great place to get scripture especially if they're really diving into the word and giving you a lot of context and then if you're doing any Bible
studies I'm about to start BSF Revelation I don't know that I do a whole lot of flagging of Bibles in the Book of Revelation but I'm about to learn it in a way that I've never learned before so we'll see practically the next steps who is your Bible for is it for you what are some of your strengths and weaknesses what are some of your areas where you feel deficient in where are some of the areas where you have seen that God is working allow God to take you through the scriptures where he's where he
is confirming that so if you ever have doubts or questions you can flip Through the Bible and reaffirm that God created you for who you are and that he did it on purpose for a purpose it's the Book for a family member a friend is it for somebody that you don't even know you just heard of the situation maybe it was somebody in your church and you wanted to contribute in some way maybe it's for somebody who was diagnosed with cancer maybe it's for somebody who's taking care of somebody who was diagnosed with cancer maybe
it's for a parent of a special needs child whoever your Bible is for just sit in prayer and ask the Lord to allow you to step into a day in their life what might they need Scripture for maybe it's encouragement maybe it's strength maybe they're struggling with depression maybe there's a lot of fear and then I like to have a scrap sheet of paper next to me and as I think about these things I'll start writing things down such as if I'm making a Bible for um a mother who has a special need child what
might be some things that she's really great at and what might be some things where she really struggles I might list some things things like strength maybe loneliness words of life if if I had a special needed child I would need somebody to just keep my head above water just constantly talking about words of life because this world is so cynical and sarcastic and that does nothing to Enlighten our our Spirits some other things might be hope but not just hope but hope in a desperate time and there's tons of scriptures on those types of
things so just sit with it sometimes it's 5 minutes sometimes you know it's 30 to 45 minutes and I just sit and I make a list of all the different areas or topics if you're using a resource like a devotional you can usually flip to like the table of contents this one right here has them all listed out obviously there's like 50 or 60 things listed on here so we don't have that much room for that many tabs but you you could pick out the ones that your heart is softened for so once you make
that list it can be as big as you want then I start to narrow it down some topics will overlap with others such as fear and anxiety anxiety is fear of the future so we could combine those two you could use whatever word on your topic flag so if the word anxiety resonates with you more than the word fear write anxiety on your topic flag let's see humility and pride they're opposites and a lot of the scriptures talk about one and and imply the other so you could combine those maybe you I love this cat
but but he is something else go sit over here where was I I have my notes to keep me um on track what are you doing put you in a headlock so you're going to choose 10 of those topics and then you can put them in whatever order you want to on your page Flags you might put them in order of importance when I'm making a a prayer Bible just a general prayer Bible I will alphabetize them just for a little organization because I don't know what the person feels is the most important you might
also organize them based on color so if you're praying for finances maybe it's green or if you're praying against Envy maybe it's green if you're praying for Joy maybe it's yellow so anyway you can write them however you'd like once I get my list of topics then I'll go to my page flags and I will just start at the top and just write them down okay I have already put the page Flags in this Bible because I tried recording this video yesterday and ran out of time so let me talk about this for a second
I do try to make it neat and organized there's 10 Flags I try to arrange them centered in the Bible now you can combine multiple colors of page flag tabs and you can fill up this whole thing you can do it however you want there are no rules I will put my first one down and then butt this little plastic thing up to the bottom of it and then I just peel and stick peel and stick so they're all in a line I am trying to work on the page flag template many of you have
been messaging me about it cuz you have seen me use it in my own time we are still in the works of finding something that is durable but beautiful the balance of function and Aesthetics is really important to me so we're spending some time but when those become available I will let you know I also put the page flag topics on the first title page I don't put it on this very first two pages because if you'll notice if you have a hardback Bible sometimes these pages are I've already creased this one but these pages
are more stuck to the cover itself and they don't lay flat and square that's why I do it down here makes it a little bit easier to line them up moving on what's the process for doing this whole prayer Bible so first of all there is no timeline I have my kids Bibles here's an example of my daughter's I work on it in Seasons I will go months without touching it I sometimes I will touch it every day for 2 and 1 half weeks this is how far I have gotten with hers my plan is
to give them to my kids when they leave the house that was always something that I initially planned when I bought these Bibles that does not mean that that's what's going to happen you know I can plan my way but the Lord establishes my steps so I hold that very Loosely that's just my plan I just recently did a prayer Bible for a friend and I had planned to spend a full 30 days on it and she is a caretaker for her very ill husband we got some news that things were progressing a little faster
so I said you know what I don't know how long I'm going to work on this I'm just going to work on it until I feel the Lord tell me to stop and so that's what I did I also worked on it until I ran out of page flag so you might use that as your guide as to when you're done flagging also you can always buy more page Flags there's 20 of each color if you run out order more you can do it 30 days you can do a two week Deep dive um you
can do a quick turnarounds you can spend 18 years on it you can do whatever you want to do and I think every situation is going to have a different answer you can get all your topics you get all your scriptures you can flag them all at one time I will tell you that will take you about 4 to 5 hours if you're flagging very consistently if you're watching TV or doing something else it might take you a little longer you keep unfocusing my camera or you could take your Bible and just go with the
flow when you hear a scripture on the radio you write it down in your notes then you come in and you flag it say you have a goal I'm going to spend an hour a week it's whatever you want I could list options all day long so this Bible we're going to say that our recipient is probably going to be female based on all the flowers and I think we're maybe just going to look at General things that women are challenged with let me make a list of different topics and I'll be right back okay
I made a list I probably have 12 or 15 on here I need to narrow my audience down just a bit first of all I definitely want relationships on here I feel like as women that's something that we need on here let's see confidence also identity as as women I think the majority of us struggle with claiming who we are and being confident in that waiting we're always waiting for something so I'm definitely going to include that one that's four so this is where I think I need to narrow my audience I foresee this Bible
may be going to somebody approaching their 40s or maybe past their 40s so I'm going to go ahead and include healing in here I feel like once we hit that 40 [Music] marker lots of things need healing also in that same token the older we get the more we experience death and when I was researching scriptures for death I was really surprised at what some of them said like I found myself finding Joy after reading these so I think I'm going to go ahead and that was an iffy one but I'm I'm here I'm I'm
going to do it all right we're at six okay I've got Comfort boldness hope faith Grace help in trouble and loneliness left oh and forgiveness I feel like forgiveness and relationships might kind of be overlapping I'm going to go Comfort because us women can be a bit emotional and we often need to be comforted so what better way than to seek comfort from the Lord rather than all of the other people who may or may not give us the kind of comfort that we need okay Comfort let's go help and trouble hope let's go Faith
all right we got our 10 so I'm going to put them in alphabetical order give me one seconds now I'm going to write these scriptures on the page Flags in the Bible okay here's the key you're going to need a fine tip permanent marker this is a Sharpie when you buy your Journal kits you always have the option to add a Sharpie there we go fold the page a little bit cuz I don't like to write off the end now this is where you can decide if you're going to flag them all at once or
if you're going to take it real slow totally up to you I have been working on a master list of topics I want to categorize them by categories as well once I get that PDF ready I will let you guys know via Instagram I have the very rough draft in my hand so I am going to go ahead and just read these scriptures by topic and get to work okay I just came to a scripture where I flagged psalm 22:24 for Comfort but then on the same page Psalm 231 is also on my list to
flag for comfort so what I'm going to do is I'm just I'm not going to put two of the same sticky notes I'm just going to write Psalm 231 on on this one right here there we go and now I got two scriptures for one sticky note I'm flagging some 3418 for comfort and if I was making a prayer Bible for somebody personally I would write on the side right here just a short little prayer and it might say something like Lord you promis to be near to the Brokenhearted I ask that you wrap her
in your arms and remind her that it is okay to be crushed in spirit that this is where you meet us the most and that's it I have come to the end of my comfort journey I try to leave a few page flags on here at the very end just in case the person who I'm gifting it to wants to flag their own or they can see that that's how it's meant to to be so to continue to dive into God's word to continue to find his promises and how they are applicable to their lives
again I will leave this actual sheet with a few page Flags left over on each color I'll use some double-sided tape or a tape runner or some glue dots to stick it to the inside front cover but now that we are done with comfort you can see how they'll all line up and it's not perfect so give yourself some Grace Grace isn't in this Bible but it could be in yours all right we're done with one topic nine more to go I would love to see your progress pictures of how your prayer Bible is turning
out if you have any questions you can put in the comment below email or DM on Instagram I really hope that you have enjoyed this video and I cannot wait to start this viral trend of a prayer Bible for a dear friend I feel like we spread a lot of stuff in this world and I think prayer should be at the top of that list so y'all have a good one
