if you feel like you should be further ahead in your goal of becoming a millionaire I'm going to show you 10 things that will allow you to compress time and hit that goal a lot faster now look if you're in your 20s you got time but if you're in your 30s or 40s and you got a kid a family it must be hard to look at these young kids who are creating million-dollar businesses and think what am I doing wrong like what what's the difference between them and me I'm older I'm wiser smarter what's going
on here now look I'm 38 but I was one of those kids that created a multi-million dollar online business in my late 20s and so I have a lot of wisdom to share looking back over the last several years now the first thing I'll tell you is no pit stops so I want you to imagine this like you're taking a road trip now when you take a road trip what happens you got to get from point A to point B and you know that if you just stay on the main road you'll get as fast
as possible but what happens well you see the uh the world's largest Bean or you see you know the the the Superman Museum and you're like oh well I've got to get off the road and go here I've got to go check this out and what happens as you get on this road trip you keep making these pit stops okay pit stop after Pit Stop here's one here here's one here here's one here here's one here and so it takes you forever to get to your destination and this happens in business as well and what's
even worse is it happens as you start to see success so let me give you an example years ago years ago when I was growing my business I got distracted by things like fancy cars or uh going and getting interviewed on podcasts you might say well Dan what's wrong with getting interviewed on a podcast well nothing but at the time my main way of getting clients was running paid traffic running Facebook ads and I had this whole system where literally I would I would run ads and then I would come up with new creatives and
then I would refresh them because I was spending a lot I mean I was spending I got up to the point where I was spending hundreds of thousands of dollars a month on paid traffic and I was producing you know three four five x that but being able to do that you need to constantly create new advertisements and that takes time that t takes thought and that was producing most of my Revenue so now I'm off doing podcast interviews which maybe brought me this many sales okay and I'm off messing around with fancy cars and
I I realized I'm like wait a minute like any effort I would put over here I would get 10x the result if I just took that same effort and put it here but it's our ego that distracts us it it's our ego that says hey make the pit stop make the pit stop right you don't you want people to to look at you and say oh wow how great how great is he how great is she you know oh don't you want people to recognize your achievements yeah great but at what cost I mean think
about that and I'm not saying this is true for everybody maybe getting on podcast is your main client acquisition Channel and that's fine but in this particular instance every podcast interview I did at that time in my career was costing me like thousands and thousands of dollars very expensive podcast the first lesson here is to make sure that you understand hey here are my goals here's the road I'm taking and I don't want to take any pit stops I'm not going to start going to conferences that I don't need to go to getting on podcasts
that I don't need to starting a podcast if your main client acquisition channel is YouTube make more YouTube videos if it's paid traffic do more paid traffic don't sit there and get distracted with the pit stops next is increase your ability to problem solve you know a lot of people talk about oh never stop learning learning always keep learning what does that mean what should you be learning and the truth is you should be learning how to solve problems you should be learning the skills reading the books and acquiring the knowledge that allows you to
solve problems that are in front of your face and again this goes back to the road because if you have a boulder on this road right and it is blocking your way but you go off and you read a book about how to solve a problem over here in the woods way off the beaten path well what good is that doing you you have to figure out how to solve problems that are in your way not problems that are just random and once you figure out how to solve this problem and get rid of it
now you can clear the path and continue down the road and so what I always do is I say okay what are the main things that are preventing me from getting more clients from growing my business and making myself more valuable because we often forget about this we get paid according to the value we are able to provide so if you can solve a problem for a client and that problem is this big well you're going to get paid this much but if you can solve a bigger problem then you're going to get paid more
and so as you learn how to solve problems you not only should be learning how to solve problems in your own business to get you more clients to grow and the problems that are the most relevant in front of your face but you should be learning how to solve problems for your clients and make your service whatever it is you do more valuable more impactful the bigger the problem you can solve the more you can charge in my career I started out solving very small problems and As I Grew I learned how to solve bigger
and bigger and bigger problems I went from charging 200 bucks for a Consulting call to now I charge $100,000 to consult on a live event and then I get a percentage of the live event for telling them what to say uh at their event now this is a wild wild difference but it's because I took the time over the course of time to increase my ability to problem solve next is focus on taking more effective action so what is effective action you know we often hear these gurus constantly screaming at the top of their lungs
like a feral cat take action take action take action but what if that action is a distraction and see unfortunately for most of us we take the action that makes us feel effective not the action that makes us effective so if you were to take the last month of what you did in your business and you were to categorize I did this I did this I did this I did this and then you were to look objectively at that and go okay what actually got me the result did this thing here did obsessing for six
hours over my stupid logo get me clients no did doing this get me clients no did doing this get me clients yes o but that's boring to me okay it doesn't matter most most of the time and I see this a lot entrepreneurs take actions on things that are not actually contributing to their business but it feels like they're contributing to their business it's sort of like Planet Fitness you know like most people actually get a gym membership because it makes them feel like they're getting in shape but they're not actually getting in shape and
Planet Fitness realized this that's why they have this you know super lowc cost gym membership they have hardly any weight real weights at their gym gym they hand out pizza for free like it's like totally not for people that work out but they have so many members and they're so successful because they realized wait a minute people don't actually want to work out they want to feel like they work out and this is the thing in business most people take actions that make them feel like they're making progress rather than looking back at the last
month or the last six months and going okay what did I do what did the data say what actually worked and then doing more of that because your feelings we're we're we're humans we got serotonin and all kinds of crazy chemicals running around our brains and hormones and they lie to us but data doesn't lie because data is what I like to call reality reality does not lie reality fact is fact does not care about your feelings so if you run your business based on fact you will get a lot further than if you run
it based on feelings next is you want to create magnetic assets as soon as you can all right what is a magnetic asset so when you get started in business what ends up happening is you're new you're fresh you ain't got nothing going on you got no brand nobody knows who you are so here you are this entrepreneur who just got bursted into the market and you are screaming and shouting to an audience and you want this audience to respond right and most people will do things like cold call or cold Outreach or cold email
in the beginning or whatever because they they have really no other choice because they have no audience but as you grow and as you get in business you learn about creating magnetic assets and what a magnetic asset is is it changes the polarity from you reaching out to the audience to the audience reaching out to you so let me give you an example one of the best ways not the only way but one of the best ways to do this is to write a book now I wrote this book years ago and this book did
probably 15 million for my company on the back end and what that means is I said hey here's this book it's cheap it doesn't cost a lot of money here you go and people bought the book they read the book and when they read the book they were like man I really want more help from Dan they were magnetized towards me it's very similar when you create like a YouTube channel or maybe you have a popular podcast people are magnetized towards you it creates inbound interest so a book a podcast a YouTube channel these are
all things that are magnetic because they're out there people see them and then they're magnetized towards you rather than you reaching out to them because you have to remember when you are reaching out to someone you are in the Lesser position because you're like hey you don't know me I want you to give me money I need to convince you to give me money but when somebody reaches out to you and they want your help that Dynamic is different and it makes it a lot easier to sell because they're reaching out to you you one
of the best questions you can ask if you if you do sales calls is hey why are you reaching out to me specifically and then they're going to tell you all the reasons why you're great and why they should do business with you it's like they're doing the sales call for you but that only happens if you create magnetic assets that bring people to you and this can happen at any level I remember there was this bookkeeper who wrote this little pamphlet on bookkeeping this was years ago this was before I was even into any
of this and I I noticed that she would just hand it out she she'd be at coffee shop she was in my local town she would just hand it out and she always had clients she always had clients because they would read this little pamphlet and they'd be like oh wow that's cool well you know what I'd rather just have you do it for me and that is one of the best things you can do you can show someone a path to success and then simply offer to do it for them help them make it
easier make it faster Etc next is to track mistakes now look nobody is perfect we're all going to make mistakes trust me I've I've made more mistakes than you can possibly imagine but what you don't want to do is not learn from your mistakes that's where ignorance comes in so for instance one thing that we do when we grow our Instagram is we track every real that we put out we create a spreadsheet and we go okay this one got this many views this many follows this many shares this many comments etc etc etc and
we look and we say okay these type of reals are doing well these type of reals are not doing well and so we try to track not just what works but what doesn't work so we can do more of what works and less of what doesn't and you can take this same tracking approach to everything in your life look back at the last month and look at what you did that didn't work and keep a track of it but don't make the mistake of saying well I tried this for five minutes and it didn't work
that that in of itself is a mistake so not only do you need to track your mistakes but you need to understand what is a mistake and what is simply just you not giving something the due time it deserves and the the more you track your mistakes the more you'll understand what doesn't work next is figure out what you don't want this is probably my biggest struggle and I'll be honest and vulnerable with you this is where I've had the most pain and suffering often times we say well I want to be a millionaire okay
great but what don't you want in order to become a millionaire I remember I attended Sam ovens Mastermind years ago and there was this point where he was talking about profit and he was saying that if you take any more than 10% profit in your business you're doing it wrong and I I love Sam by the way but I disagreed with him on this point I raised my hand I said well wait a minute 10% what the what the heck is that you know he says well how much profit do you take I said I
take like 75 80% and he looks at me with this really bewildered look and he says do you want to grow a big company or do you just want to make a lot of money and I said I just want to make a lot of money you know I want to help people but I want to make a lot of money I don't want to have a big company and see Sam's goals were different he wanted to make the next apple right and when I look out at the marketplace and it took me years to
realize this that some people want that they want this big office with all these employees and they want this big huge thing and I remember I visited Grant cardone's office and dude they've got like this whole system where they got like a football fre motivational speech at the beginning every day and they've got like this opening ceremony for the day like all this stuff and I'm just thinking to myself you know would I rather be a billionaire and have to deal with all this or would I rather be a millionaire and be sitting at home
on my laptop with my family and for me the answer was the latter I just don't want that and I thought I did at one point so much so that I signed a fiveyear lease on an office in downtown St Pete because I got all caught up in the hype oh I want to create a big company and I ended up not really using it especially after Co and I ended up paying almost $7,000 a month rent for years without using it and this month is the last month literally as I record this video this
month is the last month that I'll be paying the final payment on that office from five years ago so imagine $7,000 a month for 5 years and that mistake came from not knowing what I didn't want I didn't want an office I didn't want to have people in there every day and when I did it I hated it and so figuring out what you don't want is absolutely crucial because if you think about it if you have this road right I I'm going back to the road but when there is a bump in the road
okay if you don't have the passion to overcome that bump you are going to stop dead in the road and see there are other people who have passion for this road and they will continue on they will say oh I lost my sales manager so now I got to manage 20 sales people for the next couple months while I find a new one oh well you know I've got this problem with with the office rent and you know there's a sprinkler leak and so now I got to deal with this and I got to have
a another office that we rent while this one gets fixed and blah blah blah blah blah and all this stuff but I want to have a you $100 million company and I want to have a big office so I'll deal with that okay well I'm not going to I I'm sorry I want to spend time with my six-year-old I want to chill I want to just I I don't want to deal with all that and I still want to make a lot of money and so what I did was I started looking at okay who
has what I want from a a Northstar perspective Millionaire right but does not have all the things that I don't want and what I found was the people that were achieving this millionaire status without all the crap that I didn't want to deal with they all had a very pronounced similarity and they were all making their money doing some sort of live event that could be webinars that could be uh virtual events some of them did Live Events like seminars at hotels and I started learning how to create sales presentations Live Events virtual events that
would get me a bunch of clients at once without the need of a big sales team and I have never made as much money with as little effort as possible and really for me that should be the goal for everybody that should be the goal as little effort as possible to get the most output not no effort but as little effort as possible to get the most output efficiency not blind brute force and that's always been my model how do I get the biggest result with the least amount of input now the next thing is
you need to set bigger goals now I know this is advice you have probably heard from a lot of different people but the trth truth is that most people set goals that are far too low and the reason for this is they don't believe that the goal is achievable so I'll give you an example during covid I was supposed to hold an event and it was a live event I mean I had a hotel uh scheduled I had all these people coming and then you know the whole freaking world got shut down and so I
was going to refund tickets I was going to do all this and a friend of mine he said well why don't you just do it on Zoom just do the same event on on zoom and so I said okay well I I'll do the event now at that event it was a two-day event where I was speaking and teaching for two days and I was going to offer a $30,000 offer at the end of that event and that offer was a business Mastermind where I would be helping uh the members of that Mastermind grow their
business get a second set of eyes on their marketing Etc well I thought that maybe maybe five people there were 158 people at this event I thought maybe five people would join 5 times 30,000 is like $150,000 and I thought wow if I can make $150,000 in a day when I make this pitch that would be amazing but my goal was way too low because when I actually made the pitch we ended up selling over 30 spots we did 1, 124,000 in a day I literally it that sounds good it sounds great but my team
was over whelmed we had to onboard way more people than we thought and it actually almost crippled my business and from that moment forward I knew hey when I do an event when I speak at an event there's a chance that I'm going to get a lot of clients at once and so we need to be prepared for this I got lucky in that I made the money and I was able to handle it but I didn't set my goal big enough I didn't realize how much money could be made and I almost didn't do
the event because I just did not think think that people would buy such a premium offer on a frakin zoom call and so I almost cost myself a million dollars with my lack of belief yes you should set bigger goals but the core reason why you're not setting bigger goals is because you don't have that belief and if you look out at the marketplace and you look out at all the people making money think about this hey they're making money they're doing it and they're doing well there's no reason why you can't any excuse you
give yourself of oh well it's because of this it's because of that it's just an excuse trust me if anyone has ever done it you can do it too maybe your journey will be a little faster a little slower a little harder a little easier but you can do it you have to believe it's possible so that you can set that big goal now a caveat to setting big goals is what I call tripping on the ladder and this is going to help save you a ton of Heartache pain and suffering so I want you
to imagine for a moment that you say okay well my goal is 1 million a month which is you know a pretty Big Goal and right now you're at like nothing you're you're you're at zero so here you are at zero now there are certain things that you will have to do to go from zero to 10K a month that are 100% completely different than to go from 100K a month to 1 million a month and the things to go from 10K a month to 100K a month are completely different it's just different problems different
things you have to deal with and so what you have to understand is you have to climb the ladder step by step I have noticed that some people they will look at somebody who's making a million a month and they'll go I need to do what that person does and that's like going into a gym and seeing a guy who's huge who's got big muscles and he's bench pressing 300 lb and you're like oh I want to be big like that guy I'm in a bench PR 300 lb so you put 300 lb on the
bar you lift it up and then you tear your shoulders off your fraking body you can't do that you got to start with you know 95 135 you got to work your way up you got to do the things that that guy did back when he couldn't lift that much and that's where most people make a mistake they trip on the ladder they try to do things that the guy making a million a month is doing when they're not even at 10K a month and that guy did not do that he did step by step
ladder by ladder so the point here is understand what you got to do to get to the next step on the ladder otherwise you're going to you're going to fall and you're going to break every bone in your body on the way down the ladder next is do things even when you don't feel like it unfortunately human beings are creatures that are driven by Emotion by feeling if we feel like going to the gym we go if we don't feel like going to the gym most of us unfortunately we won't go to the gym now
who are the people that get in shape they're the people who are consistent they're the people that are in the gym every day do do you think that every day those people feel like going to the gym no I recently got in shape I added like 30 lbs of muscle I I completely transformed my body and trust me most days I did not feel like going to the gym but I got up and I went because I knew that if I stayed consistent and I focus more on consistency than how I felt I would get
the result and it's the same thing in your business look there are going to be days where you don't feel like recording a video there's going to be days when you don't feel like writing an email there's going to be days when you don't feel like taking a sales call or working on a a speech or whatever it is that you're doing to grow your business but if you succumb to the condition of how you feel and if you let your entire business and life be controlled by how you feel at that in that moment
you're not going to make a lot of consistent progress you're not going to get the result and if you were just to visualize a line of progress and every single one of these red marks indicates something that you have done or will do that will contribute to you you becoming a millionaire and you look at this line you say okay well the person that does things regardless of how they feel all these red lines exist on this journey but then you say well wait a minute what about the person who only does things when they
feel like it well then what's going to happen is you're only going to have so many red lines that indicate any sort of progress and so now that's what it looks like now what's going to get you there faster what's going to get you to millionaire status faster doing the things only when you feel like it or doing the things because you know that if you stay consistent and you do them you'll get the results this is a choice it's a hard choice but it's one that you have to make because only 1% of people
do things when they don't feel like doing it but you can't have what the 1% has if you're still willing to behave and think like the 99% and finally do more more of what works there is a guy that consults actors athletes uh famous people uh a lot of different highly Highly Successful People in Hollywood and sports and his name is Arvid Ali his job is to make sure these people don't screw things up and he said the number one reason why people make millions of dollars and then lose it all is they find something
that makes money and then they do something else and I see this not just in my own life but in the entrepreneurial World constantly people figure out something that works and then they do something else why because they get bored of it they maybe have this sense of Mastery or they think well i' I've accomplish this now to feed my internal creativity or my sense of self-worth or accomplishment I have to now do more I have to figure out new things I have to expand my mind into other things but see what that is is
that's simply you being bored and trying to not be bored instead of acquiring discipline that says you know what this is boring because I've Gotten Good at it and because I'm good at it I can consistently do it and make a lot of money and if I can just control my feelings around it if I control my sense of boredom I can continue to do this thing day in and day out over and over and I can produce an amazing result and then I can take the money that I made from that result and go
to bunch of fun stuff that is a lot less boring for instance Tony Robbins is a life coach now most life coaches are broke yet Tony Robbins created a billion- dooll life coaching company and he did it because he has these talks that he does that when you attend these talks he sells you into another event and another event and these talks that he created work and he's done the same talk for 30 years I've seen the guy multiple times and when he does a talk it's like word for word the same don't you think
that Tony Rob gets bored of saying the same thing day in and day out city after City Event after event but he says the same thing because when he says it people buy so do you want to be entertained or do you want to be rich I don't know about you but I'd rather be bored and Rich than entertained and bored I'll find other ways to make myself entertained all right so to summarize no pit stops stay on the main road increase your ability to problem solve not just for your business but for your clients
so you can become become more valuable take more effective action not just random action create magnetic assets that make people come to you not just you to them track your mistakes and make sure that you stop doing them figure out what you don't want so you don't waste time even if you are successful at something if you don't want to do it you're you're going to lose interest and you're just going to have to start all over anyway so figure out what you don't want set bigger goals and make sure that you work on your
belief around those goals don't trip on the ladder on your way to the goal make sure you understand that at each point there's different problems to solve you can't solve the problems at the Top If you want to get to the top you got to go step by step do things even if you don't feel like doing them because that's who actually achieves big things if you follow even half of these you're going to shortcut your journey to becoming a millionaire and I know this because every time I have followed these things I've made more
