[Music] strategic Communications has become a really important um field across a whole series of media Industries and organizations people trying to understand the role of public relations marketing uh even internal Communications in any work of life in a large Cate organization in a charity in temporary organization that's trying to run a campaign a website that's trying to build a new platform or in a government then it requires thinking about how communication has to work at every level we wanted to extract from that the core question which is thinking about the strategy of communication what is
it to think smartly strategically about delivering Communication in today's world where communication into links [Music] we have classic degrees in communication all of them think about the impact of Communications in the real world political impacts and so on but none so far has focused closely on the Strategic challenges of getting communication right in complex fast moving business or corporate settings it's not learning just how this might uh happen uh but it's learning what are the consequences of it what are the Strategic goals well I think it's a very relevant program um what strategy is why
it matters and how do you go about doing it it equips you to uh think about an AB vital uh part of the media and Communications landscape but to think about it in a very critical and reflexive way as far as applying for job is concerned you get a lot of PR firms who ask you to reflect about strategy Communications and the role of like Communications for like uh for like corate strategy in general so I'm very excited about this program well I like to think it opens up almost any opportunity really I guess advertising
or brand management and I mean strategies everything there it might well be that you end up you know working in public relations or marketing uh but it also enables you to think about the role of media and Communications in any kind of organization or industry so in that sense it's an incredibly um varied applications that you can do with this and it opens up all sorts of opportunities uh for careers we're looking for ambitious students who have a critical take on the difference in media Bank in the world but at the same time want to
get involved in the daily reality of communicating effectively in complex organizations which could be in the public sector the government sector the General Corporate sector we want students who are prepared to take on those challenges think theoretically first and apply the academic literature to really go back into the Practical world with a much deeper strategic understanding of what they should be doing when they communicate [Music]
