Okay, so one of the ways to get a lot of clients is actually through the DMs, but 99% people do it completely wrong. So, what I'm going to do in this video, I'm going to jump on my phone and I'm going to live just go through my DMs and I'm going to critique the ones that I see and give advice wherever I can to help you guys out so you can start doing a better job. Look, if you're new here, my name is Sean.
I run a business called Genflow. We did $25 million last year. We are an agency.
We sign people to the DMs and my clients sign people to the DMs all the time. And it just comes down to the way you do it and the approach that you take. any point you want to know more about me jumper.
com. Make sure you hit subscribe. I have two to three videos every single week.
That being said, I'm going to jump on my phone now. So, here on my Instagram also, if you don't follow me, make sure you hit follow and feel free to DM me when you want to. But anyway, just quickly, just so I can show you.
So, this is Genflow my business. Oh, we hit 50,000 followers. Didn't realize.
Yes, that's 50,000 followers for my agency on Instagram. A lot of you guys will even have a page for your agency or business, which is terrible. And also, you will see here co-founder of Newtonic, one of my businesses.
So, we got 76K now. And Reise is another business 218,000. And these are the businesses that we co-ound and invest in.
And then credit college, which is now 85. 3K. Anyway, with that being said, let's jump into DMs.
Yeah, we're in the requests folder. So, let's jump in, right? Let's just say, okay, so first one here.
Hey, I'm interested in featuring your entrepreneurial journey on our platform. I'm guessing it's some like podcasting. Yeah, man.
If I was you, what I would have done is I would have been like, "Hey, firstly my name also like what do you want to do, right? Do you want to interview me? If so, why?
Why would it be good? Why would be this? " Cuz I won't respond to this.
It just looks like someone just it says you don't even follow each other. Number one rule is if you're going to DM someone, make sure you follow them first. Be a human and then go and message cuz then immediately like you're just spamming, right?
So like whatever. Um here we go. This is the classic u yo clipper here.
Done over 40 million views from my clients, right? I have no idea who those people are. Edits talking heads.
Create a story line. Long form, whatever you want, we got you. Stop testing stuff.
I've got the vir. Let's go viral. Okay.
I send people viral laughing aloud. You have six posts. Nothing to show me how you make people go viral.
Found agency. The 1%. Obviously, that's my client Chris.
You just put some posts on your page of your agency. This is not content you've actually produced. That is not a real piece of content.
So you just made that to kind of make your profile look good. So yeah man, if I was you it everything is wrong here. Firstly in your DM not yo clipper here.
This is the worst way to send DMs for whoever has trained you whoever video that you watch. So done over 40 million views for my clients. Like I don't know those clients.
I don't care right? So like you need to actually message me right? They should have been like hey Sean checked out your reals.
I watched some of the YouTube videos. I think I can cut some down for you and we will be able to drive a lot of views for you. You know I've actually gone and done one cut down for you.
Here it is. You can watch it. And if so, I think like I could help you, right?
Step one, that would be a really good thing. Step two, this needs full work because here in your profile, you have to show your expertise. This does not show me you're a clipping expert, bro.
I'm Vengeance. I'm Batman. What are you talking about, right?
And even follow me. Like, just poor. And whoseever course you bought that told you to do this?
Like, bro, no. There we go. We'd love to pay you $540 per customer per year from a single YouTube video.
What? You don't follow each other? Thanks for not following me.
If you want to scale your biz with AI and systems. Okay. So, just randomly reposting the worst way to post on Instagram.
Not even the right ratio. I guess there are some YouTube agency. I assume this is not clear.
The 100k is obviously like fake because the views make it clear. Denise. Mr Dennis.
This is like the worst outreach I've ever seen. Like what? I think it probably like we'll make a video for you then the sales at the back of it.
Like I don't even know what you want to do. Right. This is so bad.
Here's another one. Hey Sean just gave you a follow. How long have you been building your agency for?
Okay, better. Just to have a conversation. Partner with 200 agencies.
Sold 200. Okay, cool. So this guy clearly has an info product and join limitless agency.
Basically, his must be his setter and this is what they've told him to go and do. How long you building agency for if you bother to click on my thing? $150 million revenue in 9 years.
That's been there for a while. So, Mr Setter that you've hired could actually go and pay attention. Look forward to hear from me.
Hope all is well. Like, this is the follow-ups, right? It's a follow-up.
So, the number one rule of a follow-up is not a follow-up. Like, you have to just try again. This is the worst follow-ups in history.
And probably that's the end of it, right? Cuz normally there has to be a three-step flow for some reason in the world of doing this. Yo, Jean Hanish, what um mind if I send a quick collab idea?
It'll take 10 seconds. I don't know why you're asking for permission. If you want to send me something, you should just send it.
You don't follow each other once again. Actually, we'll click on his profile, too. Why would anyone respond to this?
People be like, "Sean, I tried, bro. I I I sent so many DMs. I didn't get any clients.
" Like, what do you think? Like, there you go. Hey, Sean, just saw your profile.
I wanted to tell you how you can transform your person into views. Machine drives profit optimiz. Yeah, man.
I got some views. You worked with Andy Staong, Nathan Nazareth, and others. Oh, Vana's active right now.
Can I send you some info? Hey, man. I shipped someone last inbox.
Like, so Mr Vana, lots of wrong things here, right? Like, don't ever do this. We worked with like I don't know who these people are.
To you, there's somebody. The number one rule is tell me what I you can do for me. I don't give a about other people.
I'm selfish. Everyone is selfish. Later, you can show me in conversation when I'm like, who have you done it for?
Blah blah. I'm not going to be like, "No, no way. " Andy, yo, Vana, let let's speak right now, bro.
Not not that person. Creative partner for brands and creators, producing high quality content that convert. It's a content agency.
What we do, we help turn your brand into profit. We know make design look cool. Thumbnail design, video editing, add creatives.
Okay. So, I guess from a feedback point of view, one, he follows me. Good.
Two, it's a bit more clear to what he does and understand must be just getting started. Client results, there's something there. I would still would love to have seen any of this in like video format.
It gets me a feel for what you like, how you speak, how you come across. It helps paint a picture of who you are. Do I want to speak to you?
You know, as a fan of an agency. Yep. And you know, they're posting stuff on here better.
There's actual website. Let's go on it. Okay.
So, it's doing thumbnails. Not bad, right? So, not bad.
Okay. So, much better on profile. We saw just now what it should be.
The only thing is uh this could be slightly better. Like don't say those people. Can I send some info?
Tell me what you want to do. Right. They saw your profess like yeah but not wanted to tell you to tell me now.
Tell me what it is. Is it that I should post more carousels? Is it that my real not good enough?
Is it my scripts not good enough? What is it? Tell me it don't hide it.
Don't gatekeep. You've lost your chance. Only if you told me I would have been like, "Yo, there we go.
We have Tanish. Hey Sean, hope you good. I've been watching your content.
I see you've been going hand long form, but you've only been posting shorts on YouTube. Few of them could be pushed a bit further. " reality design.
Nice. I also got a spelling error on one of your shorts. Okay, this is what I'm talking about.
I also noticed you're trying to go with aesthetic. I worked on this guy. Only reason I want to work is because how aesthetically text was placed is wrong.
Done a demo to show you what I mean. Okay, so that's pretty cool, right? This is hot outreach 101.
You don't just say something, prove it. I remember you mentioned in a short recent that you don't want to rely on maybe B-roll. So, I made just show you B-roll for the title.
I was actually thinking something like this. Don't want to push that kind of stuff. Okay, here's an info.
I actually should put the video here. Here we go. I can watch you.
>> Last year my business done $25 million. Yo was like 23 and it before that as well. Every single year we've grown and I could not tell you what I'm doing in 3 months from now.
It has always been the way because having big plans actually has a reverse impact because you are not focused on them now. So it actually makes you complacent today. Your focus should be the next 3 months.
What am I doing? I'm going to post 30 videos. I'm going to send 100 emails.
I'm going to pitch five existing clients to do five new things. Okay, so there we go. To be honest, I love this because it's kind of made the point, right?
Did he see the four before? So, this is exactly how you should be doing it. Yes.
Is there more time? Did he invest in making this video? Yes.
And oh, I don't have time for that. But the truth is, I'm going to get back to him. I guarantee 99% I'll start working with him cuz this is what I love.
This is what it's all about. So, you know, if you want to go and get clients, you need to physically do something for someone and it impresses the hell out of them because the other DMs that you saw, to be honest, I could have clicked on 20 others. They're all the same.
It's all just don't know what else to call it, right? And it's crazy that people do that. There's someone literally sitting and trying that approach and all you had to do was just do some work and show your skill and people want to work with you.
No gimmick, no nothing. It's the same on email. You don't need to send 10,000 emails.
He could have sent me the same in an email. I'll be like, hm, if you just sit and do some actual work, some of you guys, you know, send me looms. I click on the loom and you'll be like, hey man, yeah, I can make your thumbnail design so much better, blah, blah, blah.
And they'll immediately go to someone else's channel, someone else's channel. And I'll go back to them on email and be like, you didn't even say anything in your loom. So, you send me a loom, but it's still rubbish.
And then people like, I'm sending custom looms to people. I'm sending personalized looms to people. I had a call with an agency owner recently, and the guy was like, Sean, I've already tried everything you say.
I've been doing hot out reach for years. And I was like, "Right, how many clients do you have? " Five.
Okay. How many looms do you send? Well, I sent like 10 custom ones and nobody responded.
What was the loom like? Can you show me? Click on the loom.
It's terrible. It's literally him just randomly saying something. Makes no sense.
There's no real like this is the problem that I found. This is what I can do. And it didn't work.
That's what happens. Look, anyway, I want to keep this video short. When you're selling DMs, just make sure you are actually giving real value and just give it away.
The more you give away, the more people are going to work with you. It's as simple as that. And look, if you're somebody that wants to learn more of how to do it correctly, all you got to do is book a call down below and we'll have a call with you and we'll see maybe we can help you with that Gem Flow Accelerator where we help agencies and businesses scale and it's growing really well.
People are having some insane results. People are signing clients, becoming growth operators. It's insane.
