Option one, disassemble it for a museum. Sounds great, but it took 30 flights to build and it's the size of a football field. Doing that in reverse is just as costly and the only ship big enough to carry the pieces is retired.
So, option two, boost it into a higher orbit. Bro, that would require insane power and the crew couldn't even stay on board because supply ships literally can't fly that high. Plus, it just becomes a sitting duck for space debris.
Option three, just let gravity take over. Absolutely not. That is a disaster movie waiting to happen with uncontrolled debris raining on cities.
So, the winner is option four. We let gravity pull it down, then send a spacecraft to guide it into a controlled crash at Point Nemo, the farthest point from any land mass. It's the end of an era, but at least it won't land on your roof.
