so this lecture is from 1968 it's called imagining creates reality and as you know I already made um two videos on this lecture but this lecture the October one the other one was the one from June they're a little bit they're very similar but there's a few things that are differently that I I really want to focus on there's a main quote that I want to focus on but he basically starts off by saying that you can't pass the buck to anybody you can't pass it to something in this world of as causation you have
to take responsibility for your own imagine in ination what you're doing on the inside and he says it doesn't really matter where you start off you can start off poor you can start off in a palace regardless what you imagine has to produce in your life and so he says if you know this principle you can ignore the facts and actually go all out and and believe in your own imagination then he goes on to say how what she said in the first one that we must you know has to produce some motor element in
us so if I become combative on the inside and I start reacting to something some argument I'm doing he goes that will produce something in my life because it moved me on the inside he's like a thought that really doesn't get felt it doesn't produce much and so it has to have some motor element which is true as well as for the good if I start imagining being congratulated that would also have to produce in my life as well and I've seen this work in my life too where I've had the same repetitive arguments in
my head and they externalized in my life and I've also had the same congratulatory things and those produced in my life and so he says that if you don't change anything you will continue to reproduce if it's an unpleasant environment you will continue to reproduce that unpleasant EnV environment over over and over again until you start to practice this principle and the principle would be to ignore simply not accept The Facts of Life and imagine yourself differently that would be the the practice of this and then he goes on to give it a little example
of how he really didn't he doesn't pass the buck to anything meaning that he doesn't give causation to something else so he said that he was um he said he was living like the devil I don't know what that means he's I was living like the devil I felt like the devil and he's like I mean physically in the last couple months he goes um he said that he went to the doctor and the doctor basically told him well we have a dilemma here because one test says something else about your blood and the other
one says the other the complete opposite so it's a dilemma and nille said this was an out picturing this was an an event out picturing what he was doing within himself he says he said that he didn't want to pass the buck to anybody he want to blame anyone for that he didn't want to blame an organ for that he didn't want to blame anything he just wanted to assume the responsibility of what he was doing on the inside he became aware of what he was doing on the inside so he changed his way of
being and he said that this whole dilemma solved itself on the outside so he really didn't want to blame any external factors he was really big on that in this lecture now I kind of briefly went over that I would recommend you read it as well but this is the part I really wanted to get to which is he says this he says this he says he's basically saying that imagine oneself to be different or imagining another to be different is this is a form of forgiveness and he says and you can also say that
forgiveness creates reality that would be another way of saying the same thing because that's essentially what he's he's equating imagining with forgiving forgiveness then he says this he says forgiveness tests the individual's ability to enter into and partake the nature of the opposite now when I heard that quote that's what freed me in a lot of ways it's because I think I knew in intuitively I knew what I wanted to imagine I knew that I knew what I didn't like to imagine I knew what I was imagining I became aware of what I was doing
on the inside I became aware of what I was producing and creating on the inside I became aware of what I was planting on the inside but I didn't have maybe the courage maybe the courage is the right word it wasn't maybe I wasn't brave enough to partake in the nature of the opposite even though I necessarily wanted to I knew what I wanted to think I knew what I wanted to feel about myself I knew what I wanted to imagine but I wasn't I didn't I wasn't bold enough at that time I didn't dare
to assume it and at times that I did things things changed because it produced some motor element in me something actually changed and shifted within me but it only shifted until I actually accepted and started to partake in the nature of the opposite so when I heard that I said it's it's the individual's ability to partake or accept and enter into the nature of the opposite so you you imagine you're right now imagining something that maybe you dislike let's say it's unpleasant can you entertain the nature of the opposite which would be something pleasant something
more free that that's the question can you do this can you partake that's forgiveness and when I saw that it was like I guess wrapping it up into seeing that it's a form of forgiveness allowed me to see it as a as a loving act upon myself to redeem myself that it really is one being here so if I want forgiveness if I feel like I if I feel sorry for something I want to be forgiven I imagine that I am forgiven I partake in the nature of this or I hold myself in some sense
of Shame can I feel myself to be proud of something can I partake in the nature it's not really asking me to force myself it's more asking can you just do this can you try it it's always that when it comes to Neville like can you just test this and try it can you you're Imagining the fearful thing right now but can you although it's scary and you know it's scary can you forgive that and test your ability to entertain the nature of the opposite of what you're imagining can you imagine some sense of safety
some sense of security some sense of wealth some sense of Health can you entertain that nature because you're when I saw it as entertaining Natures as well which is the same thing as entertaining States but these states have certain Natures they're not they're not all lovely states in the last lecture he said that there's stupid States and there are there's a lot of stupid things in the world but can you ENT change the nature of something opposite what would I I used to wonder what does it feel what does an intelligent State feel like what
does intelligence feel like what does feeling brilliant feel like I just would try to test that and the best I could I would try to reach for these things within myself even though they you know even if they felt far away I would ask myself what does it feel like to me and at times I would get a a faint heartbeat towards those ideas that it' be very faint but but at a certain moment I would catch a little glimmer of it and I would feel it and I would know oh that's what it feels
like I know that's what it feels like and the next thing you know I start to partake more and more into that nature of that opposite I saw that I'm interacting with Natures here so if I'm interacting with an unfor or you could say energies I'm interacting with an unforgiving nature here or I'm interacting with something that is holding me in some type of bondage some type of um the nature that is keeping me imprisoned on the inside can I entertain the nature of being free from this thing it doesn't matter what the thing is
it's asking can I entertain the nature of the opposite of this thing that's the question and and then he gives an example of how you have to completely rub out who you were before and accept the nature of your opposite so it's really now it's going to come down to your yourself can you accept a different nature of yourself you've been unlovely you've been unkind can you accept yourself being kind and lovely no one's really don't abandon yourself don't leave yourself in the same position but redeem yourself save yourself it's the same being you're just
simply rearranging it so he says how you see yourself as one state and then you leave that state and that that former state is going to vanish and and leave I had dreams before where I've had people from my past and my dreams try to hold me back in the dream I could feel them trying to hold me back and keeping me there and I wanted to to leave and so at times these former states can feel that they're convincing you and pressuring you to stay into that former position that you were just in that
you've actually wanted to leave but until you let it vanish and actually go you don't actually move into a new state the former has to leave and the new has to become your new way of being your new nature that is essentially what's happening here it's almost like until the point you completely forget you even were that old thing that is that's almost even though you might have been that thing for many many years you almost move as if you never were that thing to begin with that's how it almost feels it's a complete Redemption
it's complete forgiveness that's why I love the word forgiveness in this forgiveness tests the individual's ability to enter into and partake the nature of the opposite the nature of the opposite this is this I this is just such a free I don't really want to say a quote but just a truth that I heard from that well this this this really was the the moment where it just hit me one day it dawned on me that I'm was trying I'm always trying to figure out why I'm thinking what I'm thinking I'm always trying to figure
out why I'm doing what I'm doing or why do I keep going back to a certain position or why do I not let myself just leave all these questions but I never really entertain the nature of the opposite can I just entertain the nature of its opposite do I have to figure this all out or could I just imagine myself differently can I imagine myself the way I want to be I'm in an undesirable position can I imagine the desirable as if as if it was as if it was the case right now can I
do that can can I just entertain it now this quote he doesn't in another quote he said forgiveness is the ability to entertain the nature of its opposite now he doesn't say entertain in this one in this lecture but he said Entertain Entertain in another quote that's very similar to this one but the word entertain got to me as well because it's like you're you're just playing with it you're you're toying with it you're entertaining yourself with this idea of being different can you just play with it do you don't don't pressure yourself so much
just play with the idea of being a bit different be a different character on the inside be something you want to be it it's a part of you remember I am is in States and these states are different facets of the same I am so you can think of that as your imagination is in States right now so if you imagine yourself differently that's a state you might doubt the state you might see yourself differently in the state but it's still a state meaning that the state is never Superior to it's always subordinate to the
I am to the thing that brings it life that that expresses that state can't really have a state expressing itself from nothing it expresses through man which is the expressor of States but the the man chooses what states his imagination is going to be in so I'm going to end that one here I think this will be part one I think I'll do a part two I'm going to call it forgiveness creates reality just because I don't want to mix in with the other one which is the same title which is imagining creates reality just
to give more clarity on it which one's which but I hope that this kind of motivated you to to not just see imagination or imagining as almost sometimes it can almost feel like a there's no human element to it there's no it almost feels distant and cold but you can see it as an act of forgiveness towards oneself which is a more loving way of seeing it and it's actually just as true if not more true to oneself when you see it this way but but I want to announce that this Friday I'm going to
go live publicly I'm going to do a public live on December 13th at 2:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time so it's going to be public keep a lookout for that you guys can ask some questions and I'll probably go on for like an hour or two and we can just talk about this type of work so keep a lookout for that but again thank you guys for listening
