and the first step to becoming the woman of your dreams starts with and this is a transparent moment that I'm sharing with you right now your emotions are unreliable sources of motivation so the thing that I've realized about becoming the woman of your dreams is that it is not about visualizing it's not about creating the cute vision boards it's not about creating anesthetically pleasing life on the outside it really is about what's going on internally and doing that deeper inner work all of the external efforts that we make such as the vision boards the Pinterest
boards and recreating our Dream estate all of these external things are great for the little pick-me-ups we may need or the small boosts of encouragement or inspiration that we may need but what we must remember is that these things are not Solutions they're just masking the real problem here and the real reason why you haven't been able to become the woman of your dreams they really start to become a distraction how many times have you thought to yourself right I'm gonna change my life I'm going to become the woman of my dreams let me go
create a vision board let me just scroll on Pinterest for a bit let me scroll through Instagram for some inspiration can you see how all of these things just become distractions and lead you to procrastinate on the things that you really know you need to be doing the actions that you really need to be taking in order for you to get to that Next Level this year I've decided that I'm committed to going deeper going deeper into learning about myself decoding my identity going deeper spiritually and building my faith and reprogramming my mindset my beliefs
my values all areas of my life my current behavior is just assessing everything and making sure that it does align with that next level with the woman of my dreams and I encourage you to do the same I could encourage you this year especially this month as for in January spend some time this month just really reflecting on who you are and your identity and the areas that you really want to improve in order to improve and become the woman of our dreams we have to know what that really means to us we have to
have that definition not just what we see not what's on our Pinterest board not what's on our vision board not who we follow on Instagram it has to come from you and only you because you are your true source of fulfillment and joy and contentment it really does have to start from within and the first step to becoming the woman of your dreams starts with having that desire I love the word desire it's honestly one of my favorite words desire and passion are some of my favorite words so the definition of Desire is let me
just get it up a strong feeling of wanting to have something or wishing for something to happen so when I think of the word desire I think the fire I think of passion I think of determination and why becoming the woman of your dreams has to start with desire is because when you've got burning desire for something to change or something to happen you really want to ignite something within you it's going to create that momentum and it's gonna help you enjoy the process because everything is a process everything takes a journey it's going to
be about building new habits new routines recoding your identity like I mentioned earlier and these these are all deep things these are things that cannot happen overnight you cannot just have one jail in session and then wake up in your life's completely transform these are things that are going to happen over a series of events experiences times and a conscious effort made by you in order to change this is why the majority of most people's habits are not sticking because they don't have any desire there they say they want it but the passion's not there
therefore the commitment to that change or to the transformation they want to see is not there so when you are defining the woman of your dreams what is it that you really desire that should be the first journal and exercise that you start with writing down what are your burning desires the next step is to build discipline yes I know you hear it all the time and this is something that I've also had to hold a mirror up to myself recently last year and just really ask myself you know what mantel what what is going
on here what are you doing do you want this or not the thing about discipline is that it's it's difficult to get started so we all know how difficult it can be to get into a routine once you pass that honeymoon phase of enjoying it and then you realize okay I have to do this every single day now and you're over that initial excitement for example going to the gym for the first week you're gonna be so much of it it's so excited you've got your cute gym outfits you're there on time every day then
the next week you're still going you're still motivated but you're starting to think maybe I can just skip skip a session here and there and then by week three you may have completely Fallen back off and then you're just back to square one again but the thing is if you persevere if you commit to that discipline once it becomes a habit and it's ingrained and you can do it without thinking you then start to realize how much Freedom that is in discipline I remember when I was hosting a retreat in Mexico so I was leading
the return Street and we had a somewhat strict schedule of course because we had so many activities and workshops and things going on within the retreat we had to stick to a schedule so the schedule was wake up at 6am we had a stretching class in the morning about 6 30 and then we had breakfast at 7 00 a.m so everything was very regimented and I remember they were the best two weeks of my life honestly because I realized how much Freedom there is in having routines I put on so much weight on that trip
and by the way one of my goals is to put on weight so for me that was a positive and I realized it's because I had a consistent eating schedule I had breakfast lunch and dinner at this exact same time every single day I was consistent I was consistent with going to bed with waking up with what my day entailed with eating with stretching with exercise everything had a routine and there was the best two weeks of my life because of that routine and I realized how much Freedom there is in waking up at the
same time in doing similar tasks each day in having those disciplines all it needs is for you to really get over those first hurdles push past that discomfort and you are going to be so relieved on the other side once you've reprogrammed your mind ingrained a new habit you found freedom in that and you've elevated and now the process of that elevation is starting to become so effortless and so free one of my core prayer points for this year is asking God to expand my container to expand my territory to expand my energy field so
that I can take on more because I know with the Visions I have for my life with the ambition I have I need to have the ability to handle multiple things going on all at the same time I need to be in different locations I need to be just on the ball with everything so I know in order to do that I need the energy and this is a transparent moment that I'm sharing with you right now I honestly get so frustrated at myself because I am such a Visionary I have big plans right and
there are so many things that I want to tap into there I just want to be doing so much and I get so many ideas constantly I've got notebooks upon notebooks of just ideas and things that I want to do and one of my key worries right now I don't know if that's the right word I probably will use the word concerns instead so one of my key concerns is that I'm not going to have the energy to manage it all I'm not gonna have the energy to balance it all so I'm praying for my
territory to be expanded I'm praying for God to open me up to open up my energy so I can take on more tasks without feeling completely overwhelmed so if you're anything like me and you've got a lot of ambition you've got so many ideas but you get overwhelmed pretty easily then you want to be looking at how you can expand your container and this may mean that you have to remove a few things there's been so many things in my life that I've had to remove to allow new things in so this one is for
my crybabies my emotional girl is I see you I hear you I'm one of you and this year we are working on our emotional intelligence becoming the woman of your dreams means that you cannot rely depend or lean on your emotions to make decisions your emotions are unreliable sources of motivation when you're feeling excited and inspired you've got the most motivation you're taking the most action and then the next day you may be feeling a bit tired a bit down a bit discouraged so does that now mean that you're not going to take any action
this is the reason why we cannot depend on our emotions regardless of whether they're positive or negative emotions we have to be in certain logic and this is one for me too because I definitely operate from my emotions a lot of the time but I've just I'm done with that I like I'm honestly done with it even today I really just was not feeling it I wasn't feeling filming I wasn't feeling showing up but you know what here I am because my emotions are not running the show because I realized from last year I let
my emotions sabotage so many opportunities last year was just if I could just write missed opportunity on my forehead drive because there were so many missed opportunities last year and we're not doing it this year I'm not letting my emotions run the show so to become the woman of your dreams you have to build your emotional intelligence you have to know when to react when to hold back you have to know when to just push past how you may feel and continue you have to learn to go the full mile even when you don't feel
